GM's thread about nothing (57 Viewers)

My Mother in Law today told my wife that she has lung cancer. Severity unknown, full scan and biopsy over the next couple of weeks to see if it's spread. The initial scan has shown that it has already put out arms or tentacles or whatever so that doesn't sound good.

Yay
####. Sorry GB.

My in laws work closely with a family in Cambodia whose son was diagnosed with infantile leukimia last year when he was about a year old. It looked grim at the time, but everything has gone exceptionally well, and he was tested as cancer free a few months back.

Until a couple days ago. He went back for a checkup, and 60% of his bone marrow is cancer. There's nothing they can do except send him home and wait for a couple weeks to 2 months.

#### cancer
So sorry to hear GB. :(

My week in a butshell:

The good

~ Cal made the honor roll last quarter after dicking off 1Q. He would have had straight A's but got a B in reading. I couldn't believe this since he reads constantly at home. I e-mailed the teacher why he got a B and she replied "because I ask him questions about the book but he just waves me off and says he needs to finish". That kind of makes me happy.

~ I have a solid chance at a 100k plus furniture job.

~ I collected over 100k in money due to us. Sell, collect, repeat. My life hasn't changed in 25-30 years.

~ Finally got the ultrasound on my heart, it's the picture of health. Although the palpitations have returned.

~ Made the time to walk 36 miles so far this week including 8 miles today when it was 16 degrees. It was glorious.

~ Made a cold call on a nice sized company and totally got this gals attention. She said she would be calling me. I need, and will be, making more calls like this. Honestly, I'm tired of the game but it still gives me such a great thrill to pull them in.

~ Nobody died.

The bad

~ My link

The ugly

~ I stopped by the casino for an hour to have a couple of drinks with some GB's and won $160

What's wrong with our schools? Honor roll for kids that don't make all A's. Does everybody get a trophy for participating in nap time as well?

;)

Had some left over salmon in the fridge. Whipped up a sour cream based avocado and wasabi sauce and made an omelette from it. Delicious and paired great with my bourbon.

Bob - I envy you your dedication to walking. I think it's the absolute best exercise one can do for health.

I just noticed your sig. :lmao:

Glad to see you back, Bob. Was wondering where you'd been.
:lmao: Thanks GB.

I heard this story on the radio radio today and it made me think of the GMTAN.
This is probably very true.
Jim Norton and the others in his circle of comedian friends say this all the time.

Wow, that sounds really good.

Thanks on the walking. It was born out of necessity thanks to my love of running. I prefer walking much more now but would love to tear one off if I could.

SLB> do you walk in the early morning?
In the dead of summer I do. You have to because it will be 90 at 8am sometimes. I try to leave around 7:00-7:30 but I usually get caught up in work and don't leave until 8:00-8-8:30.

I check and reply to e-mails the whole time though so it isn't as calming as it should be,.

1) That new show on HBO "True Detective" is pretty awesome. You should watch it.

2) And then you should visit page 5 of the True Detective thread and witness Gordon Gekko reaching new heights of bat#### insanity.

That whole thread became an abortion once shady showed up too. Is that how the BB thread went? I already want to Un- :blackdot: it

Oh yeah, the gal that did my examination asked if my last name was common. I replied "no" and then she asked me if I knew a couple of guys. Of course I did. Her husband is partners with my cousin. This was my cousin that just had his mother pass away. There are 3 million people in this region but it is an amazingly small world.

My stupid wife turned off the ice maker today, so me an my buddy are sitting here drinking and we are almost out of ice. I can't believe I'm saying this but I really wish I had some spare bags full of ice right now.
