GM's thread about nothing (98 Viewers)

Also, I'm drunk. :banned:
I like Monster Energy drinks. My wife got gas and bought what she thought was a drink 'like a monster drink'. Only, it was a Mike's harder Mango Madness. The thing was huge, but that didn't kep me from chugging it in about 90 seconds, you know, for the hell of it. After about 5 or 6 minutes, I was in the fetal position in my room, almost in tears. 8% alcohol doesn't seem too bad, but, i think the sheer volume made me feel like I had a Gremlin clawing for life through my guts.
Soooooo....this is a recommendation, yeah?
If I wasn't afraid of the inevitable vomity outcome, I would drink #### like Joose and 4Loko (even in their reconstituted caffeine-free forms) all the time.

Gustavo is a bad mother####er.
You're watching Breaking Bad?
Gustavo is a bad mother####er.
Season 4 already ? Box cutter?
lol Season 4 episode 12 I think.

Somebody walk me through uploading videos to youtube from an ipad.
I wish there was a website where people would upload videos that tell you how to do things like this in a step-by-step manner. :kicksrock:

Well that's a shame because fraternities really do represent virtue, charity and brotherly love. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be playing Foosball in the rape room.
:lmao:
Holy sh#t did that really happen? :lmao:
I might be really hammered right now. Like, I'm almost done with an 18-pack in the last 4 hours and am about to panic and start rooting through the house to find more booze.

:lmao: I love you.

I started a shot video and was kind of riffing on how sad my existence might seem to an outsider...then I rrealized that it's just sad all around.

Pretty sure I need a change.

Like I have that kind of time.

Or a toilet.

I think you should cold turkey the booze, move to New Orleans, pick up an STD or two, and gamble all your money away. Think of the awesome stories you could entertain us with.

I used the term "Canadian Geese" around my BIL the ornithologist once. ONCE. He went on a diatribe that they are CANADA geese not Canadian geese.

Now I try not to talk about any kinds of birds around him.
I don't know why, but :lmao:

Vin Scully rules. true story.
Villalobos watches the first pitch end up as a low ball....Javier is known as a contact hitter...back in the Domincan Republic he earned the nickname "El Contact Hitter...ball two...high and outside...tomorrow night is "scarf night"...first 3297 fans through the gate get a hipster scarf...Garrison confers with Feltcher...Interesting fact about Garrison, he was also drafted by the XFL but told them '#### no'...here's the wind up and...Villalobos takes a strike down the pike...just a reminder to you local fans, the Pinnochio parking lot will be closed during the month of July due to hosing off of the blood stains...check-swing for strike two...after the game remember to pick up a 36 pack of Farmer John wieners at Ralphs....Garrison sets and delivers a smoker that just kisses the outsider corner...#### Villalobos...

I think I know the answers I'll get, but I'm going to post this and ask for GMTAN wisdom anyway.

The Great Seattle Home Search is nearing completion and we are down to two final contenders:

House A is listed at a price that would allow us to pay cash for it. Pluses, in addition to price, are location (95 walk score, and being in the center of the action is highly desirable for us), attached garage, and...wait for it...space for the pizza oven. House A also has one additional "official" bedroom than House 2 (3-BR vs 2-BR), though House 2 is significantly larger. Savings on price on this would be partially put into buying a boat (actually actually true).

House 2 is listed at $250K more than House A, which would put us into a range where we'd need a mortgage. It would be a small ($250Kish) and easily paid mortgage based on my current income, but I don't know how steady my income will be. If we bought this one, I would likely sell our Nica house (which I might do anyway) or liquidate some other assets to pay most of the mortgage back. Being debt-free or nearly so is important to me.

House 2's advantages are that it is mostly amazing. It is about 750 sq ft larger, but not so large that we wouldn't use most of the space, and it has three decks including a 360-degree rooftop deck. The house is facing west and overlooks the sound--absolutely spectacular outdoor space, and the west view means all the gorgeous sunsets. House 2 is fairly car-dependent, but there are a few walkable restaurants/bars, and it's an easy drive into the neighborhood where House A is. Mr. krista would undoubtedly be able to walk to work from House A and could not from House 2 (walk score of 62, FWIW).

House 2 is brand-new, while House A is 4-5 years old. House 2's finishes are top-notch, while House A's are high-end but not at the same level. House 2 has some great character to it like wood-beam ceilings in some places, floor-to-ceiling windows, etc .

There are railroad tracks behind House 2, but they are for Amtrak, which I understand only goes by once or twice a day there. There is no place for a pizza oven at House 2, and the garage is a large four-car one shared with others (meaning you can't use it for storage, which doesn't matter to us).

Our realtor believes he could resell either one if we decided not to stay. (He doesn't say this about all houses.)

For the Seattletonianites here, House A is in the heart of Ballard, while House 2 is in Sunset Hill.

WWGMTAND?
Go for the location that suits you best. If you're in an amazing house but you have to jump in the car every time you want to go somewhere, you're going to be much less happy than if you were able to just walk where you want to go. We made the same choice with our place and, looking back, could not be happier with how it worked out.
Gracias. I really do think we're all about location, when it comes down to it. When we're older, like Tanner's age, views might trump the walkability, but not now.

Two soulless gingers in the GMTAN? There can be only one.

Good first effort. Way to stare off into the great beyond.
:goodposting: Nicely done.

Just wow. Didn't see that coming. Wild stuff.
Every time I hear/read people talking about BB, I can't help but be insanely jealous of them getting to experience the whole thing for the first time.

In short, I hate Bob right now.
You're going to be jealous for a while. Give it a week or so and I'll catch up to Bob. But then he'll be ahead of me again and I'll have to catch up. And then K4 will go on a binge and catch up. Then GM will get the VHS copy.

It's going to be a vicious cycle

Can I do that whole thing without kicking the booze?

Actually, I have a couple of industry friends in New Orleans...I could get a bartending gig a few days a week and extend that self-destruction over a series of months. Would that be more entertaining for you?

I've already sent GM the reel-to-reel copy...should be in Oregon by Pony Express before the Spring thaw.

i watched the entire series over christmas break... part of me wishes i gave seasons time to breathe before plowing along...

File this under things I never thought I would hear.

Cal:It's supposed to snow again tonight. I hope we have school tomorrow.

Dylan: Me too.
We visited the kids' grandparents over Christmas break, and my stepdaughter got new cowboy boots for her birthday (which is in early January).

We got home just before the big snow/polar vortex, and she was pissed that their break got extended, because she couldn't show off her boots to the kids at school. Her brother had no such issue with it.
