GM's thread about nothing (41 Viewers)

MOP just on fire in the spanking thread . Actually typed, "I've never spanked my son" leaving out, "I never met him until he was 13" or whatever.

Choosing between (1) second bottle of wine (2) a beer or (3) bed. As a note, if I go to bed i will have to work tomorrow, which i am trying to avoid at all costs.

I want to go to Vegas now.
No ####. I haven't been in maybe 2 years. I used to spend 50% of my time at O'Sheas so not sure what I'd do there now.
It's back! Not quite the same low-rent glory as before, but the beer pong is still there.

ETA: My link
Sweet. I thought they were demolishing it for expansion of another casino.
Oh, they did. Then they grafted it onto the side of the former Imperial Palace like an appendix. It's now part of a promenade that leads you back their giant observation wheel.

cos/kev/bentley - I'm no longer staying in Austin until Sunday, so Saturday night Salt Lick is out. May be up for a beer Thursday night.
Bummer. Keep us posted.

I would be willing to use smoke signals but it's snowing here so I don't know if that would work.

when I was just out in Vegas, my first night out at the Hard Rock, I sat down at a $15 blackjack table with $100 buy-in.

Lost it all in 7 straight hands (they let me play the last one for only $10 since it was all I had left).

0 and 7. first time that ever happened to me. after that, I was gunshy to gamble much.
I once played black jack for 45 minutes and was never dealt anything higher than 17.

I don't play anymore.
I once lost 17 straight spins of roulette at $50 a spin. #### thAt game.
Wait, you've been to Vegas 17 times?!?
REAL ####### FUNNY DINGLEBERRYHEAD.

Job - help requested

I had a phone-screen interview for a job with an internet company. The role was for "manager" and about five minutes in the recruiter (who actually works for the company, not a third party) said I was more qualified for the "senior manager" role. It went well enough that I have a Skype call with the VP of Sales this afternoon. I am very interested as the company is solid/interesting and the compensation is 3x as much money as I've ever made in a year

What is the dress code protocol for a video interview?
Never underdress for an interview.
Won't lie - I read this as "never undress" at first

Forgot to say "Thank you" to Guster for the prompt payout. The procedure was a success -- there won't be any additional ginger babies running around Houston on my account.

Hence my confusion

I am going to lose my #### today.

I am conducting SAP training and am in day 3 of 14. So far we've been typing in the transaction codes to get where we need to go, but today I showed the class the 'Favorites' menu -- pretty much bookmarks/shortcuts. I hear a loud <sigh> from one of my class members (she's also an employee of mine) so I ask "what's wrong?"

"I just don't know which way is faster."

:wall:

Typically in the work day I can tune out her constant negativity but I've had two full days of it now. I swear she'd complain about the sky being too blue. How can people go through life being so negative about everything?

SAP has caused my drinking to go up 214% in the last year. It's going to cripple my company and I'm probably somewhere else this time next year.

But I do enjoy having a favorites menu.

Wife and I are going in 3 weeks. Staying at The D (The Fitz). Haven't stayed there since the change over. Looks slightly improved.
I haven't seen the renovated rooms personally, but from the pictures I've seen, you should be pleasantly surprised.

The second floor has been branded "Vintage Vegas," making perfect for old coots like you and me. There is good video poker up there, and Sigma Derby, the mechanical horse-racing game that is a blast with a large, drunken group. Bob>end of September, you say?
 I always liked the Fitz. You got more than you paid for and the service was always good. I also like how "vertical" it is. No room is really more than a minute from the elevator and the elevator lets you our right into the casino. No extra hiking.
Very convenient for you on your Rascal scooter.

Yeah, a play. It could definitely work as a play. Much of it even seemed staged that way.
Backstory: it was done to save money as they were already over-budget, so they limited both the locations and the characters they'd have to film.

True, true, true story.

What was your response?

I hope you've started to email her Debbie Downer SNL clips off of YouTube.

Going to an event put on by the Museum of Science and History this evening.

It's at a bar, and the topic of the lecture is: "Distillation Science: Making and Mixing Whiskey in Texas"

I'm more excited that Homer during a DeGrassi Junior High marathon.
This was pretty interesting. At one point they passed around basically moonshine, and I was waiting for that one guy to take a drink. I was not disappointed.

Really interesting, if actually actually true.

Can't decide if I should launch right into Season 4 (a bit slow in terms of work right now) or rest a bit. Or I suppose I could get to planning my move since we're leaving two weeks from tomorrow.

Wish you were here.

Has anyone heard from Cos? I sent him a text on Saturday to see if he was OK and haven't heard back. Usually he replies at 4am asking "Are you awake? Time for a quick chat on the phone?" but nothing this time around.

As a result, I will use Bob as my text-message conduit to the JTanners during Operation Kidbirth tomorrow.
Good luck brother!!!

:lmao: I'll stick to analog typing from now on.

You will lose your #### with bb 4.1.
Good luck today

Ever watch a movie next to someone who's already seen it?

"Wait for the next part" - Yes, I'm waiting, that's now stories usually go, thanks.

"Oh watch this part, it is awesome!11!" - Yes, I'm watching, that's how watching stories usually goes, thanks.

"Remember this scene, it comes into play later" - Yes,I'm sure I'll remember it. That's how following along with stories usually goes, thanks.

"Did you see that?!" - Yes, thats how watching a story usually goes for the watcher, thanks.

That's how I feel inside when someone brings up BB in here.

Muscle relaxer made me fall sleep for 14 hours and I had to drag myself out of bed.

So I can clear the driveway OF MORE MOTHER####ING ### #### COCKSUCKING SNOW!!! ####!!!! MORE ON SATURDAY TOO?!?!! WHY THE #### NOT?!!!! SNOW MOTHER####ER SNOW!!!@!!!!

So sleepy still.

Last night my Mom texted me asking if we were okay. I get one of these texts any time something happens in anywhere Texas. Tornado in Amarillo, flooding in San Antonio, nuclear bomb in Dallas (wishful thinking, I know), whatever as long as it happened in Texas. Never mind the fact that I could leave my house at dawn, drive all day heading west and still be in Texas.

Evidently there was ice somewhere in Texas last night. :shuked: That, or she's just now catching up on the news broadcasts from two weeks ago.
