GM's thread about nothing (6 Viewers)

This is a soccer video. You just gotta bear with me here, it's worth it. Not nu-Tanner shtick.

I can't stop watching this. :lmao:

good luck with the cat YSR- I'm with K23 and the others who think it'll come back. We also had an indoor cat- inNYC- who would bust a move outside for a couple days at a time. Scared the bejeezus out of us, but would always come back with a dirty face, a dime-bag, and debt. But keeping digits crossed for you.

I'm probably going to be in Pittsburgh next week of anyone wants to grab a beer or twelve.
Where will you be staying?
Not certain yet. Business is out in Duquesne/McKeesport area but I'm going to look into staying closer to Pittsburg proper as I really only have to be out there for a few hours.
Pack your Kevlar.
Yeah, stay either in downtown or in Monroeville (closest areas to get to Duquesne/McKeesport) That's not a great area.

I live in Washington, PA about 25-30 miles southwest of downtown and work in Robinson Twp near the airport
I stayed in Monroeville last time. Never felt unsafe but there's nothing around there except a Primantis.Staying downtown this time and I'll have Thursday evening free if anyone wants to have a beer. Wish I was getting in early enough to go to the Pirates game but it's a 12:35 start.
There is a lot more in Monroeville than just Primanti's...Business Rt 22 is called 'The Miracle Mile' for all the shops and restaurants there.Where at in Dahntahn?

oh, and Monroeville isn't that bad....Duquesne and Mckeesport on the other hand, not so much
Doubletree. Don't send one hundred pizzas but if you want to send one hooker, that's cool.
You won't be far from Blush (9th St just past Penn Ave) so you can probably find one there.

Thanks for all the thoughts and feedback. Took the girls to school today. There was a policeman at the front entrance and fewer kids than normal. Other than that it was the school we have grown to love looking very normal.

"I'll jab u in the gabber, m8!" is going into my rotation.

He built the thing himself and it's out in the middle of nowhere so it saw dozens of drunkfests until the sun came up without a neighbor anywhere around.
Given some recent developments, the bolded sounds like freakin' heaven.

Neighbors are cacks. #hikesPantsShakesFistAcrossDriveway

Rule #1 in business: If someone wants to give you money for something, make it easy on them.

One of the guys I hired has a quote out for some software that will pay him $612 of commission as soon as the customer places the order. The customer sent an email yesterday saying "I need to buy x , y, and z." We sent quote back and he replied "Please increase license count of item #2 by 1 unit and send back. Then call me for my credit card."

And the SALESMAN I hired will simply not pick up the phone and call the guy. SIX HUNDRED AND TWELVE DOLLARS ARE PHONE CALL AWAY.
Thanks.

Abe hired some shitty salesman

I see Russell Wilson's marriage is the latest victim of K4
Oops. Apologies to Russell, RussellWife and Seahawks fans.

So I fell asleep on the couch and missed the ending of that hockey thing. sumbitsh.

Meh, smart of him to dump her before he gets the monster contract next year.
Also smart of him to dump her cause yeah she definitely has the crazy.
Yikes. He has to be able to do better than that.

Fun to watch that clip. Gruden sure did love him. I loved the instant poll they did--"Who will have a better career--Russell Wilson or Brock Osweiler?"

Updates:

1.) Cat came back. I got up with my daughter in the middle of the night and checked the back door. He arched his back and just sauntered in like it was no big deal. I know it probably seemed like I overreacted, but if any of them has ever disappeared before, I clink a couple of the plates we use to give them wet food and they immediately swarm. When he didn't respond to repeated plate clinkings, I got nervous. Thanks for the TPWs.

2.) my FIL came over to help dig out the stump that is preventing me from planting my 10th and final azalea (the others seem to have survived the freeze even though he didn't actually make it over here to cover them, thanks for asking k4), but is currently asleep on my couch.

3.) probably not going to Kansas City this weekend after all (sorry, Bob). 12 hours is just a loooong way to travel with a 10-month old. Stupid kids.

Good news.

1) Good to hear

2) Every time I see "azalea" I think of The Man With Two Brains and giggle to myself.

Dylan had his first baseball game of the year tonight. They have a pitching machine but the rest of the rules are pretty close in that three strikes and your out with a maximum of five pitches. They can advance as many bases as they like too instead of only one base. Three outs and they switch too instead of every kid batting every inning which is really cool.

He went 5-5 and they won 11-2. There was even a play at the plate where he slid around the tag, popped up, looked at the ump for the safe call and got it. He clapped his hands once and and jogged off with a big smile on his face. He looked like a big leaguer which was super cool. This is the first time either of my boys has been on the winning side of an athletic contest. Pretty happy about this.
Very cool.
Thanks GB. Don't get me wrong, he jacked around like most of the other kids. Like I posted last week, he just looks the part. Very proud dad though.
Im nervous about how I'll take it if my boys suck or dont like sports when they get old enough.
With Cal, it was like a given. I'm not "that guy" either. I think the proof is there in that I didn't make him play sports because he hated it so much. I was certainly told by every male member of my family how they were sure he was going to be great at sports almost as soon as he was born though. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. Cal's happiness of course means more to me than some stupid kids sports game.

In a completely unrelated note, Dylan is my favorite son.
:lmao: :lmao:

Cooper is a pretty good athlete who plays up a year on football and soccer teams and was the best player on his basketball team by a mile. He's playing baseball and volunteered for catcher, which is not very glamorous, but it's a noticeable difference when he's not back there blocking balls and doing what catchers are supposed to do...CATCH. Kid just hustles hard and loves to play sports.

Meanwhile, the K-man has settled in with soccer and swimming and that's it and that's totally fine with us. I had him play baseball for one year with the simple logic that he didn't want to be the kid in college who couldn't catch a baseball with a glove. He actually wasn't too bad and liked it, but not enough to play through the grind of spring baseball in Oregon, which is a long long season with many games played in cold rain. His soccer team is purely for fun and I hope we can keep this current team together. Great kids and many of them dipped their toes in Classic/Select soccer in the past but are back now. Turns out many kids would rather enjoy themselves and play for fun than be pressured into winning games against kids who eat, breathe and live soccer all the time.

I once asked Kellen if he wanted to play football and he just laughed at me. :bag:

GM >> Our Blazers are having their way with their Rockets.
I'm quite certain Harden will figure out how to put the ball in the basket and when he does, the Rockets will get back into this series. Plus, I put $50 on the Blazers to win it all at +175 and if it's one thing in life you can count on, it's me being on the losing side of any sports wager.

I spent all day Sunday working in the yard. Started with an 8 am trip to get shrubs and ended just before dark as I attempted to get the last azalea bush planted (I was thwarted by a nasty root system that even YSR + reciprocating saw yesterday morning couldn't tackle). It was a really long day, made longer by the fact that I cannot locate our spade-tipped shovel and so all holes (2 forsythia, 10 3G azaleas) had to be dug with a post hole digger. My upper body strength is akin to Fuller's lower body strength, so I was exhausted by day's end, but also so very proud of my work and the result.

All of this is to lead to a complaint that on my way to SC yesterday I heard on the radio that it's going to freeze tonight, which may lead to my beautiful plants' demise. Thanks, Obama.
"What are those #######s doing on the porch?"

"Those aren't #######s. It's pronounced azaleas."

Anyway, that's awfully impressive. I hope your plants survive. Can you have someone go cover them?
I knew I couldn't be the only one!

So I fell asleep on the couch and missed the ending of that hockey thing. sumbitsh.
Bet you wouldn't have that problem if you lived in Seattle!
You hiring? Need a creative-ish guy with a drinking problem?
You could go cut down Krista's tree and stay there for the balance of the series. How are you at tree climbing?
Not much I wouldnt do to climb Kristas tree
