Today's fukc cancer update

My sister just posted this about her daughter - many of you generously donated to a benefit for her a couple of years back, and I haven't provided a lot of updates since.

It is with a hevay heart and great sadness that I have to write this today. Over the last couple of months Brian, Lisa and I along with Cathy's doctor have had numerous discussions about if/when to stop Cathy's treatments. During this time we also read her living will and it was very clear she would not want to live this way. Still we were just not ready to let her go. In the past few weeks her quality of life has been declining and continues to do so. Which means the toll it is taking on Brian and the girls is increasing. This past week Brian, Lisa and I decided it was time. Time to stop the treatments. Time to let Cathy go. Even the doctor has no idea with stopping the treatments what comes next or how long we will have her so the future is very unclear. Hospice will be taking over now with her medical needs to keep her comfortable and anything else she needs. Will keep you posted as things change.

If you are having family get togethers this holiday weekend treasure every person there and let them know how special they are in your life because you just never know when it may be the last time you get this chance.
Oh, ### #### it. So sorry, gb

My doc offered me eternal youth for my joints (both knees, ankle, back and right thumb) through the miracles of platelet enriched plasma, stem cells, and/or HGH. He said he's scaring the hell out of joint manufacturers and make knee/hip replacements, etc. Obsolete. (Sorry shuke)
The back is a joint?

Serious question: about a month ago the water pressure in my house decreased by about 70%. If someone flushes a toilet while the sink is on, the sink will stop completely. If the washing machine is on? Forget about getting water any other way. Our area is on water rations and in a severe drought. Would the utility folks scale back the pressure on their end? I haven't seen any pooling to indicate I have a leak anywhere.
Here in the city we have pressure reduction valves installed at the curb that reduce the water pressure from the city line to the house. Ours went bad a couple years ago and we had problems very similar to what you're describing.
And?

*** BeerHole Announcement ***

Thorn and I will be road tripping from Cincinnati early in the morning on Friday, July 11*

We are returning on Monday morning so we can extend BeerHole to cover the World Cup final match

Who are we picking up along the way?

Shuke?

Homer?

Aaron?

Annyong?

anyone else interested? We'll rent a vehicle that's big enough to fit all who want to join

We paid some guy a couple hundred bucks to replace it. Works like a charm now.

I make it to my aunt & uncle's place in Burke in under 7 1/2 hours, but I drive 80 mph much of the way

Better get that liver up to snuff for Beerhole. What days can you make it? Where are you staying?

The medication I am taking mixed with alcohol can do real damage to my liver and I don't want to end up like most of you. If I did Beerhole, the only day I could really do is Saturday July 12 because I will have to fly out the next day to San Diego. Seems unlikely that I will be able to attend, but if there is a mini Beerhole in September, my flight reservations are already set from the 25-29. Really wanted to attend in July, but way too many things going on right around it for me.

I can't handle people touching my feet. No thanks.
One toe each time might be more your speed

After Mata's hair appointment, we hit the butcher shop and went nuts. Rack of beef ribs, 800 lbs of fresh-cut bacon, stew meat for shish kabob, Italian sausage, old ham.....I dunno, a bunch of other stuff - I know the back of the car was dragging. 2 lbs of shrimp thawing and a bunch of veggies marinating.

Off to the ped appt shortly, then back to eat/drink/#### ourselves into oblivion.
