GM's thread about nothing (14 Viewers)

I dont want to jinx it, but how is the Finless mystery thread still open with all the outright attacks?

Possibly my favorite tidbit from that thread was Swires draft choice for his punter. :lmao: :lmao:

I commished that year and actually manually added it to the available players at MFL so he could have him on his roster.

I don't wanna work...

My kid is at camp.

I don't have to work for at least another week or two, even three maybe.

My exboss has a spare room on Kauai, north shore, Tunnels.

Sonny, where for art thou?

Round trip leaving tonight and coming home Friday is $500 on American w/ 25% coupon.

Why for may not I go.

My sisters force fed my diabetic going blind mom on me because I am a single dad and grandma is like a great substitue mom (not), but she cannot be alone for a week so I am babysitting my mom instead of #### ### fun, and god knows none of them would want to see after their own mother.

Maybe I'm a jerk.

I want to bang on the drum all day...
 That is a GREAT spot, seriously doesn't get better, and not just on Kauai. Haena's killer and Tunnels is probly the nicest beach there (or Ke'e), which is saying something. Good snorkeling right out front this time of year with lots of turtles. Speaking of which, it's also where Bethany survived that tiger shark attack (they just did some movie about), losing an arm. Also the best trail (Kalalau) you'll probly ever get to hike nearby on the Na Pali coast.Excellent airfare too, what are you thinking??? F your mom.
:lmao: When you're right, you're right. F my mom. Ticket purchased. Departs 4:38 manana. Earliest I could go. This spare room sounds fun. It was a laundry room, but the owner pulled the washer and dryer and set them outside on a deck so he could fit a single bed in their spot. Sounds perfect. I don't care. I've got Maui and the Big Island wired, but I've only spent a few days on Kauai, so this had to be done. F my mom!

The mess this became wasn't funny. I never post personal pics online after learning harsh privacy lessons over a decade ago, but I will make an exception here. This is me and mom in happier times just a few short months ago.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I was not expecting that. That was funny.

And I was completely kidding about your mom, you WERE doing the right thing. :lmao:

#### it, I may just go out there myself. Checking fares now..

CC, I will send you like 10,000 pages of info if you like, send me your email. You are going to love it. Right decision. If your mom dies I am going to feel pretty bad you know?

I'd LOVE to go back to Kauai. I went in 2001 and had a great time, despite the fact my first wife was sick the first two days and kept us at the resort. Man, I want to go back so bad now that my boys are older and can hike and stuff. That little island has a helluva lot to offer. Waimea Canyon was simply incredible and I barely touched it. I could spend some time there.

just gave one of the twins (4 months old) a bath...when i was getting him dressed he was being a PIA. I walked into the living room to get the other one, I told Mrs. TF that to go give the other one a batch b/c I was frustrated. She agreed as long as I did whatever chore she was doing at that time. I agreed.

5 minutes later, twin #2 shat in the tub for the first time.

I win. :bowtie:

Thanks to my new favorite drug of choice I really didn't feel like working today. Thankfully it was slow too. So I drove around where the new place is for about 2 hours trying to get my bearings and figure out where stuff was. The first thing that stunned me was how many of the family owned places that used to be around here, meat market, eye doctor, pizza place etc. had moved out there. It was almost like some kind of alternate reality out of the Twilight Zone. The bad news is there are very few family restaurants however I think there are about 7 Wendy's in a five mile radius around our place. Actually I found a pretty cool looking feed & seed barn a few miles away that looks interesting and I can't wait to check out. It will be nice to have a place to buy food should I get a couple dozen head of cattle. The really bad news is that, best I can tell, is that there isn't a good Italian place around. Penis.

I'm sure most of you have seen this already, but I've laughed several times at

- especially the little mover and shaker on the right.

Plane tickets, hotel, car now booked for labor day surprise baseball trip for my dad (brother and I are taking him to Fenway, Cooperstown, and Yankee Stadium and he has no idea). So pumped. Just need game tickets.

Dammit, man. This is like a dream vacation to me, if my Dad were alive. We were all about baseball together as a family. Really envious.

Yeah, we're super excited. We had to tell him we were taking him on a trip over labor day so he wouldn't make other plans. We didn't give him any details other than the dates. He's asked my mom four questions (she won't tell him anything):1. Are we going to Fenway?2. Are we going to Wrigley?3. Are we going to Yankee Stadium?4. Are we going to Cooperstown. We did this right. He played in the minors for the Yankees for 3 years before blowing out his knee, and took us on a road trip to Cooperstown when we were 12 and 9.

Is there anything worse than the new Subway commercials where the grown men have dubbed over little boy voices?
Ball cancer. Ball cancer is probably worse. Also, The Bachelorette.
Subway's food tastes like ball cancer to me.I'm just now starting the Bachelorette...am I going to hate this one?
No more than the rest, I'd guess. Recommend the "journey" drinking game, though, to make it more palatable.ETA: Totally agree about Subway food. It just tastes like sad.

They need to make The Bacehlorette more challeging. Everybody can fall in love in Fiji...let's drop them off in Somalia, Albania or Cleveland and THEN watch them fall in love.

Critters appearing thus far in our Nicaraguan home:

In the "gross" category:

Scorpions

Bats

Cockroaches

Mice

Ants

Mosquitos

Termites

In the "kind of cute" category:

Geckos

So far no snakes, though I understand they're to be expected. Also, cats come in off the roof.

For ####'s sake.

I actually had the same conversation with my husband tonight. Drop the two of them in the midst of a family death and/or job loss or some other real life event and see how that journey progresses.

If it makes you feel better, Shelter Island has ticks. No going barefoot for the two little ones.

Krista, is there a non-snake season there?
No one has seen them in our house, and our property guy says because of something to do with our roof (which I didn't understand at all) snakes are less likely. We are going to switch the roof to what he says will more fully prevent both snakes and scorpions (again, totally don't get it).The one snake we've seen in our all our visits throughout the area was in another house, about six inches long and so non-scary that we got right now on the floor with it to take pictures. I'd really not worry about the snakes. Not so thrilled with the scorpions, though.

krista>you probably know this already, but scorpions flouresce strongly under ultraviolet light. Finding a portable UV light might be a bit of a project, but it could come in really handy for late-night trips to the bathroom.

I love how you have to have the right roof to keep snakes and scorpions out of the house. I'd last about 4 seconds in one of those crazy countries.

Wait. Did you mean to type "in our house" versus "around our house"? So you're expecting to see a snake IN your house at some point?Holy #### that would be a deal-breaker for me.
