
Yes, I mean "in" the house. I guess my criteria have become a bit looser regarding what is acceptable when I'm dealing with a third-world country and indoor-outdoor living. Other than the bedrooms and bathrooms, the house is outside--meaning the kitchen, dining room, office, most of the living space are not able to be closed off and are open to the outdoors. But you could get the critters within the bedrooms anyway due to the cracks and especially the roofs.
As to the scorpions, I did not know about the UV lights and appreciate the tip! Basically people just shake out their shoes and their bedding down there to be safe. I haven't seen one yet; the one spotted in our house was by the cleaning lady who freaked out about it. We're getting fumigated for this and that, but it's just a fact of life there anyway.
