GM's thread about nothing (19 Viewers)

My dad and I were going over our Rangers' history tonight as they clinched the American League. We talked about going to Arlington Stadium, sitting in $2 outfield seats and suffering with stifling heat and lackluster baseball. The 1989 season was about as close as we ever felt to success with the Rangers. They had a rotation of Nolan Ryan Charlie Hough, Jamie Moyer, Kevin Brown and Bobby Witt. They came out of the gate screaming and I really thought "THIS IS THE YEAR". That was also the year they traded Sammy Sosa for Horrible Baines and Freddy Suckrique.

By the time the Rangers finally made it to a playoff game in 1996, I had moved away from Texas. The Rangers never could solve the Yankees in those playoff years, and they've been iced out of post-season play since 1999. I've gone up to Seattle to see them a few times and even scored an autograph baseball from Juan Gonzalez. But it's different rooting for a team when you're 2,500 miles away. It's great to finally have the excitement back. It was fun going over the old Rangers days with my dad, watching the team clinch the AL. It's something we never ever thought we'd ever see.

Hope the Giants beat the Philies. I'd love to drive/fly down to SFO to catch a game.

Dear Jesus Christ, Holiest Lord of Lords-Please don't let the Giants win the WS. I'm sick of these obnoxious f-word c-words that have come out of the woodwork. Let my GB's GM, Bentrley, and Nigeria Tuffnail taste sweet victory.Yours in your name,SID
scratch that, reverse it.only woodwork climbers out ofs I've seen around here have been the people pasting Rangers whatnost in their avatars.if there is a god, please, please please please please please please please please let the Giants make the WS and win. Texas won enough with the Bushes for all those years.

I had season tickets in '85, front row, centerfield. I think they were maybe $3. Back then, you could take a cooler in. I would fill a small cooler with sandwiches and take a big insulated cup full of vodka and grapefruit juice. Good times.I think they lost 100 games that year. They were terrible. I was on a first name basis with Oddibe McDowell and Gary Ward. My God was it hot that year.

I ran for the 2nd day in a row, trying to get back in shape and kept thinking over those 30 minutes, "Man, I'm old." Thanks.

Post the video of Cal dancing.
He texted it to me from Mrs. SLB's iPhone so I need her or him to e-mail it to me I guess. I may need some help.ETA

We only got a couple of minutes of video and it was his second performance that night.
hmmmm... I just got some good video of Floppolinho dancing too- to a street drummer outside of Central Park. Electric Boogaloo. I'll try to up when I've got time.

Tiger Fan, I'm 50/50 on making it to Baton Rouge now. Buddy changed plans on me again and they're headed to the in-laws that weekend now.

PM's must be down.

The Longhorn football team sucks, the Longhorn basketball team is going to suck, the Cowboys suck, the Mavericks are going nowhere, and the Stars are going to suck (even though I don't care much about hockey). But everything's ok because the Texas ####### Rangers are going to the World Series.

Good to see you're still breathing! :thumbup:Was a bit concerned after yesterday. :lmao:

Question: how old is too old? What's your limit or cut off point? My target are has usually been any female younger than me (35) but old enough to have been alive for the 1988 Olympics. It seems I may have a cougar on my line and I'm debating whether or not to reel her in. Oh and before you (Stu, and well, everyone else here) ask: she does have a couple daughters in their early 20s.
Cut off? Fella, if you got a 'cut off age', you just don't want it bad enough.
:scared: Good point. I'm going all in. She gonna have more than one reason to scream BINGO this weekend!!!!
Two words: Astro Glide.YWIA
:jawdrop:How old we talking here?

I had resigned myself to thinking I wasn't going to make it and how that was a good thing considering finances lately, but 50/50 should definitely be considered a low estimate on the liklihood of me being there.Find me a ticket.

Turns 50 in December. She just got divorced after finding out her husband of 25 years has been cheating on her and he now lives with his new girlfriend. It appears she has not enjoyed the company of a man since her split. I'm sensing there is a sexual fire burning inside her that is ready to explode. A night of passion with a studly young buck is just what she needs. As long as the "studly" part isn't that important to her, I just may be that young buck she needs!!!!

Can someone tell me how to view topics in order of replies?

From what I can see here on Page 1, we are being beaten by running, movies, beer and soccer.

This will not stand.

Go to the very bottom of the FFA and change the order to "replies." Looks like this thread is about 10th all time. Pretty good for one that's so young. Imagine how long it would have been if the deleted posts were still here.

:goodposting:Exactly what I was looking for. I think, with some solid (and PG) efforts, we can easily eclipse the following and move into 4th: New Classic Rock Game - Guess The Theme *** Official Barack Obama FBG campaign headquarters *** Official Great Works Draft ***Official 2008-2009 NBA Wagering Thread*** Cleveland Browns: Mistake by the Lake?

Maybe recruit some of the heavy contributors from other threads to discuss here? :coffee:

Thank god for On Demand tv shows. Our giant daughter has been home for 10 days, and on 5 nights I have been up with her after her early morning feeding because she won't go back to sleep. With our first kid it would sometimes take 20 minutes of bouncing her to get her back to sleep. With this one, I was up from 3-5 this morning trying to get to back to sleep. Once I finally got her back into the basinette alseep it was less than an hour before she was up for her next feeding. Makes for a long day at work.

How tall are we talking here?

I remember those days. Can't believe I'm agreeable to do it again with wife 2.0. :bs: Back when my boys were this age, I didn't have On Demand or Tivo. I got stuck watching a lot of really bad television. I even got to the point where I would watch softcore porn on Showtime, not to masturbate, but to follow the plot. I could probably recite every episode of Hot Springs Hotel by memory.Maybe when I have my new batch of kids, they'll invent some sort of self feeding timer like they have for caged rabits.

No way we pass all of those while someone keeps popping into this thread to delete posts.

I watched Inglorious Basterds over the weekend. Is it okay if I admit to not liking this very much? I thought Brad Pitt was ridiculous. I liked the Colonel quite a bit, but the rest of the cast was pretty weak. And the ending was just stupid.

I think McJoseBoyleLllama is driving this bandwagon, and he's a History teacher. :rolleyes:I'm on board too.

I respect the craft in the movie, but I'm not a fan.

that's what GM says when he watches Showtime.

Havent checked in here in a bit.

My wife was out of town for 5 days so it was just me and my 2 daughters for the week (6 and 3). Between that and Frosty's updates, I have 2 IE tabs open. One for GM's thread about nothing and one with google search results for "San Antonio vasectomy doctor".
Almost got seriously :P by my own post in here. Wife was a bit late this month but we are good. Really really need to hurry up and get this scheduled.

Buddy's bachelor party was this weekend. The strip club was fun, but

is stuck in my head. :) And giving me Pavlovian boners...
