So I'm driving to work, and behind me pulls up this maroon Scion boxy-thing. There's a huge bearded fat white guy behind the wheel, he kind of looked like Mick Foley. A mountain-man look. So while we're sitting there at the light, waiting, I notice he starts puffing on this giant pipe. Like something out of Sherlock Holmes. Just puffing away. Then I noticed that he's got a tiny pair of pink panties hanging from his rearview. Trophy? I don't know. Not the kind of guy I see everyday, is this normal anywhere else?

So I've stopped all beer (save for Sunday), am in the gym every chance I get and am bound and determined to show him I'm capable of losing weight. He, on the other hand, will not be able to re-grow the missing hair from his large head.

Stupid jerk.

I've said this before on many threads here, but what the #### is wrong with you? Find other ways to give up calories or exercise more. There's no need to give up the greatness of booze. I lost 40 pounds in six months (216 to 175) without cutting back on drinking much at all and have kept it off for years by cutting back on portions, dropping sweets, dropping soda, etc. Beer, cheese and bacon are three things that must not be negotiated.

Been to the gym 4 times the last week and will continue that pace. But I must correct you: I'm not giving up BOOZE....just beer. Last night, I had one Jameson neat. Lasted me all night long. Kept me warm and tingly. Night prior, one Johnny Walker Black neat. Same deal. I figure if I keep that up and stop with the 4-5 beers a day + frequent gym time, I should get to where I want to be* before long.

Having the drink "neat" to me is the key. It's not cold, so it makes me want to pound the drink less. I'm the type of guy that likes to have a drink in my hand at all times when in social situations (even if it's not alcohol)...there's something subconciously soothing about it (or I'm an alcoholoic) Having a neat drink is a good way of doing that and keeping a buzz without getting plowed which is waht happens to me if I pound a bunch of brown liquor

back to back nights with just one cocktail to last me. That's probably silly for 99% of the population, but for me, it's progress.

Speaking of burning things and pyromania, local news is covering some dude in San Diego County who had a "bomb factory" in his house. Really nasty stuff. So bad, the bomb squad has declared the home he's renting to be "too dangerous to re-enter". Solution? They're gonna burn it down.

They're gonna evacuate most of the neighborhood and close a freeway.

Dry wood. Splinter it up if you can, break it up a bit so that the smaller pieces will catch fire first to eventually get the whole log to catch. Make sure you're using the right amount of kindling and old newspapers.

I used to go around to new home construction and collect scrap 2x4's and get some newspaper from the recycling center. It just got to be a pia. For $3.50 I light it and I'm done.

In Dynasty I always grab talent over situation.

I'd look for teams building Long term around solid younger QBs w/ maybe a hot TE (Moeaki) or slipped through the draft cracks on Talent (Hernandez) or flashes of potential (Hoomanawanui). Where their stable situation will be someone stable and improving.

STL, KC, DET are all good there.

If anything go with the odds:

20 Rostered TEs

You'll want Top 5 and Top 10 to give you solid odds at consistent High level production.

If your starters and rostered players can all be in the top 1/2 of all of rostered players you'll be kicking ###.

Of those get top tier elite or as close as possible. Then at minimum #1 option w/ upside. Same but not quite as good.

QB. Vick #1 or #2 Him and Rivers. Ben not far behind. GOOD. You have Top 3QB likely Top 10QB out of 20 Rostered.

RB. Hillis, 2011 outlook? Stewart? Blount Moreno? (RB Top 10? What about other 3?)

WR White #1-3 WR, Williams ? WR3 but top option on TB, Wallace another top performer. Year 3 should be big for WRs. Smith Giving way to Nicks. I like him. but they're both hurt. Nicks is more explosive I'd say.

I focus on hardest position to fill. Best Talent available.

QB and WR shelf life is longer than a RB. Look at Top 25 QBs and WRs from 5 or 10 yrs ago.

Some names are still doing well today.

Now do that same thing for RBs. S. Jackson is the oldest one still producing that was on the list.

There's just more turnover at RB giving you chance for sleeper, handcuff to sneak in.

Example of taking talent over situation:

I drafted Gerhart. His situation is horrible for him.

It worked out for VICK this year.

Only pick up a player you'd start and that you'd be willing to start next year. I think DAW is F/A. Stewart's value is LOW. Goodson could be good handcuff to have but is anyone else seriously going to roster him?
