GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

She has gotten some press this week for a couple of news conferences

She had been accused of being a boring press conferencer (if that's a word), so she came out and did a monologue answering all of the boring standard questions first and then invited the press corps to ask her about interesting stuff (her trying Cricket, her Liverpool FC fandom, her love life, etc)

A couple of days later she told this elaborate story about being attacked by a baby kangaroo that was obviously a joke, but many of the idiot sports media reported it as fact, so she had to have a second press conference explaining the whole thing
:goodposting: She's a swell gal, even though she's a Dane.
Yeah, big fanHope she can get the majors monkey off her back here (or the koala, if you prefer)

This is pretty much the best news LFC has gotten all year. Which makes me sad.

fixed it for you... well, it's her and King Kenny, plus new owner that doesn't want to ruin the club... that gives me a little hope for 2014 :lmao: ETA: ooof... just realized it's been 5 years now...

ooof... that Koala is pretty heavy, although I didn't really think she choked, just ran out of gas.

Zvonareva is +145 against Clijsters and she should have a chance at least.

Yeah, I'm not following this "lippy" thing that GM is talking about. She reminds me of Hingis with her permagrin.
Yeah, I have no idea either. Just read headlines of her toying with the media, punching a kangaroo. I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about. This switch to brown water only might have taken its final toll.

It's over? Damn it. I didn't even get to watch it.

Also, how the hell do I know when this thing is..."on"? I need some sort of code to know when my horse goes off in Aussie to Oregon time translation. Can I bet on something right now? Will it be on TV?

Women's 2nd semi just startedMen's Djokovic/Federer match is up next

Djokovic getting a lot of value on the moneyline

yeah, agree with tup, the line should be closer. That said, it's Federer...in the womens 2nd semi I posted Zvonareva +145

Melbourne is basically exactly on the other side of the earth from you, so adjust accordingly. You should gear up for some betting. Some good value on the board now.

Yeah, at +145 I think that's the betBattle of experience but potential lack of fitness against youth but questionable composure

This one could go wither way IMO, so I would take the extra 45 cents on the dollar

Just took Djokovic +190 and a live-in bet on Zvonareva +160.

And now, I'm off to google both, hope my wife passes out soon, pour another Chivas and watch some tennis. Sounds great.

Bet Djokovic GM, excellent value. That match is complete tossup and you are getting 2 - 1.

IN. Feel free to give us degenerates a bone in the gambling thread now and then...thanks.
lol, I'm retired from that thread and post my plays elsewhere...
Got tired of Mashall Plan, eh?
among others... I got sick of the PMs from people blindly tailing a loser and whining about losing $5, even though they had won on other plays.

Clijsters has always been cute. Legs kind of went to hell since she had the baby, but she is def a genuine candidate for the oddly attractive thread (which, oddly enough, is rarely about oddly attractive women).

That and it seemed to turn into prop betting central....which is cool, but people stopped putting any subtext or thought into their plays....it became so systematic. Scalping lines spelled the end for me. I don't think I have more than 10 total posts in the current wagering thread and that's one that used to be a favorite of mine. HFFL FOREVER! WOLVERINES!

yeah, agree on the props... sure, it's fun and all, but without reasons what's the point... besides, most books cap their props pretty low and it's not worth the effort. Looks like they even have a couple of guys in there that turned tout, lol, selling picks to other posters?!?

GM's thread about women's sporting events? :)
GM's thread about making $$
Completely off-topic and out-of-the-blue, but it occurred to me today that there was something I wanted to ask you about. I remember a couple (few?) years ago that you had some friends that were in a terrible car accident, one (?) of them being killed and a couple in very serious condition. It's been a long time, but I was wondering how they were doing?

I hear ya, especially the reasoning part, who jumps on plays solely because they've been posted? I got bored and went back in there the last few months... :) not so bad. Gambino, gambler, etc, that was good stuff. What ever happened to gambler? :banned: Was that an alias or something?

I thought it was TU, and IIRC they were traveling from Boston. But I'm old and forget. Was this you? :(

It was three of them, Mark, April and Kim. April and Kim died. Mark, who was driving, was touch and go for a long time, but ultimately pulled through. He went through rigorous physical therapy and has gotten to the point where he is 85% back to "normal." he is working about 25-30 hours a week and comes out drinking occasionally. He has some lack of motor and brain functionality but it's a miracle that he survived at all. Thanks for asking. We still have an annual memorial fundraiser for Kim and April and it's always very tough when early October rolls around.

They were going from NYC to Boston and a car came flying down the other side of the highway, hit the curb before the median, flipped over,, and landed on their car (going the other way) hood to hood

One in a billion occurence

Geez. I'm glad to hear about Mark. He was the one I had in mind that I thought had been really touch and go for a while. Not to make this GM's thread about tragedy, but I'm sorry to hear that you had a similar situation, charvik.
