GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

I really want to go to Krista's house now.
We're not that far from you. :goodposting:We bought a new 58" TV yesterday so that we would have four TVs. Thinking of getting another one today. We are going to have a separate bar set up on each of the three floors with beer, wine, and freshly made sangria and margaritas. Barbacoa, carnitas, chicken, and vegetables for tacos or fajitas, ceviche, guacamole, rice & beans, and about 8 million toppings, all of this homemade by Mr. krista4. Dessert TBD. Live entertainment pre-game and of course the marching band at halftime. Squares game and prop bets for prizes. Everyone must declare their allegiance when they arrive by choosing a Terrible Towel or a cheese bracelet. I might not make it out of this alive.
Wow, this sounds like a great party! Good luck!

Could someone remind me what the rule is for how much booze you buy per person for a party? We'll have hard stuff available if anyone wants to mix something, but mostly beer, wine, sangria and margaritas. How much per person do I plan on?
You know your guests better than any of us would. Just figure out what you think you'd need and double it.
 Thanks for the help. I thought there was some general rule of thumb for this?
Depends on how heavy you'll think they'll drink, but I usually figure 12 beers per suds drinker and a 1/5 of wine for those with a taste for the grape.ETA: if you're not sure who drinks what, assume 6 beers per person (all of your responders) & a fifth of wine per every two (again, all of them). You'll have stuff left over most likely, but I've found this covers most situations.
Thank you GBUH. Very helpful! Living in TN is making this more difficult than usual as there's no option to run out and get more on a Sunday.
you can buy beer after noon in Memphis on Sundays.

Just looked at the post list for this. I'm way behind the leaders, but only need 90 more to catch Disco Stu.

And Poor discu Stu doesn't even know I'm taking a run at him. He's probably sitting at home, playing Xbox, not randomly hooking up with super hot half-phillipino half-italian chicks that are 10 years younger than him. Yep, stupid *******. He's going to slip to like, the 7th most post in this thread. LOL.

Got a new dog at the shelter today.

Chi-Dach mix. Very cool little dog so far. Already put one of the cats in its place.

Wife named him....Tanner. :lmao:

No sense in explaining to her why some of my "friends" might find that weird.
Cool jump suit, brah! :lmao: Big fan of people who pick up dogs at shelters. My co-worker is going through all kinds of hoops and hurdles to get something called a "Goldendoodle". These people live their lives to be on the cover of Pottery Barn. I make sure to tell him about all the shelter dogs that are destroyed while he chases down this ridiculous animal, which I'm told, has had the dog bred right out of him.

Also, my parents put down their 16 year old dog this morning. She was on borrowed time, but they are taking it pretty hard nonetheless. Pretty sure they'll be hitting the shelter soon for a new addition. :goodposting:

Gonna watch teh last 17 minutes of Wall Street now. Charlie Sheen currently crying in the hospital. Seems like the kind of guy who'd hire hookers and then trash his hotel room.
