GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Not sure where else to put this:

Some people are even unwilling to admit that a jumbo jet could not be made by a hurricane in a junk yard. I'm serious.
What does that even mean?
I think he means that if a hurricane went through a junk yard, it could accidentally lead to the creation of a jumbo jet. or something.

Any way to adapt that $1 in the cup baseball game thing that SLB was talking about earlier in this thread to a Super Bowl Game watching party?
link?and yes, should be pretty easy to come up with an adapted version.
can't find the link right now, but I think I came up with a good version:Let’s assume there are 10 people participating.• Each person draws cards and is placed in order 1-10• Everyone puts up $1 in a cup to start.• The cup moves with every play• Before every play from scrimmage the person holding the cup declares “run or pass”. If they are correct, they take $1 out of the cup. If they are wrong, they put $1 in the cup.• The cup moves from person to person in order that they drew the cards• For field goals, the person holding the cup gets $3 for a make and has to put in $3 for a miss• For punts: the cup holder declares whether or not the receiving team will attempt to run back. If they are correct, take a dollar out, if wrong, put a dollar in (fair catches, out of bounds and touchbacks count as a “non-attempt”• For kickoffs: will the ball be placed beyond the 20 yard line is the question• Whoever is holding the cup when a touchdown is scored gets the entire cup and we start over with everyone putting $1 in the cup again

Tonight heading in an epic direction.

There's an In N Out literally 200 yards from my house. I think I've been there 3 times in 7 years. Once was to try it out. The second time was to make sure I didn't miss something the first time. The last time was to grab a soda since I was walking by. The place is one giant monument to mediocrity. It's like the Taj Meh-hal. There is a huge line of cars in the drive-thru all day long. I really don't get it.

Bought 10 $400 suits for $1784 yesterday :pickle:Instead of renting tuxes for the wedding, we're having the groomsmen buy suits. We're going to buy the shirt and tie for them. Is that an acceptable groomsmen gift or should I pony up some more dough for some other stuff?
I think that's perfecetably acceptable.Wish I would've done that for my wedding. The suits might be a few bucks more, but you can wear them many times.

It's his analogy to "show" that you can't just put a bunch of chemicals in an environment together, shake them around, and expect something complicated (like human beings) to result. But some people, like the abusive Mr. Pickles, won't even admit that a hurricane could never assemble something so complex by chance. It would appear the chemical engineering (or even basic organic chem) still escapes him.

Pretty sure this is how Delta got their fleet

Well let's just go ahead and get the weird out of the way....

Tonight, my wife, my kids and I are picking up Mexijoe aka CGRdrJoe aka The Vince Lombardi of Pop Warner Football at his hotel where he's 'stationed' while working on an oil leak from an old barge named the Davey Crockett that's older than Cosjobs and we're taking him to the VIP section of the Rose City Rollers Roller Derby match against the Detroit Derby Girls where my ex-wife, who volunteers for the local gals, has gifted us with free seats. Did I mention these seats come with free PBR? :barf:

After that, I think we're ditching the family and the car and things could get messy.

This is so awesome it almost seems fake.

GM>Free PBR? Wow, you really go the extra mile for out-of-town friends. When Krista visits, are you gonna sping for some Tickle Pink?

Just made my first sportsbook deposit with Western Union. I've been gambling online for a long time, but have always managed to sneak credit cards through. But there's a certain book I wanted an account at, and I couldn't get my credit card to work, so went the Western Union route, wiring money to some dude in the Phillipines.

I feel like I've crossed some sort of line.

Ha! I don't think I'm springing for everything. Thank Flaghoople. :rolleyes:I'll treat Mex right after the bout (or match? or game?). He absolutely HAS to go to the Acropolis. $3 steaks don't grow on trees, but they do come with garlic toast, mashed potatoes and boobies.

Interesting steak topping you have up there.

We're getting a Five Guys in the next few weeks. Where does that rank?

Okay, I kinda like this. Yours?

That's the way I first felt when I was forced to put money on a pre-paid debit card at Ace Cash Direct, which is one of those seedy 'Pay-Day Loan' shark places, frequented by hoodlums and people you don't want coughing near you. Now, I know two of the employees by first name and like to chat it up with the miscreants who stand in line with me.

I funded an online sports book through a Western Union transfer 15 years ago. Things have come full circle if that's crossing a line. Used to be the only option.

I think you can also get french fries.Whatever you do, do NOT fall for the 0.75 Cent Ham Sandwich. I did that once and paid dearly for it.

I would like to see a GM video of that a la 'here we have butter.'

eating at a strip club always seemed wrong to me. I'm no germophobe, but combining food with what goes on there seems a bit disconcerting.
