Just got a text message that there's no school tomorrow. They cancelled it last week Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. First it was because of the snow and single digit temperatures. Then it was because of the rolling blackouts from all of the cities generators unable to produce any electricity. Then it was because of bursting pipes and a major shortage of natural gas and water. There's a mandatory rationing of water. Apparently we don't handle the cold well.

You have no idea how timely this post is. My birthday is coming up and I arrived home last night to a box on the doorstep. In it was a very sweet card, a Cooking Light magazine with a post-it telling me I have a two-year subscription coming (which is fantastic because I LOVE that magazine), and the creme de la creme: a recipe box with every recipe that her son loves hand-written on recipe cards.I can't make this up.

We'll be married 15 years this fall, I wasn't guessing.
