Just found out the one of the kids that BSR coached, who played on our son's team, was found dead in the snow near our house this morning. That's the third kid from this class in the last couple of years that has died. I can't believe it. DAMMIT!!! He was a good kid. I'm praying right now that it wasn't him as the article in our local paper doesn't state his name, only a description, but one of my daughter's friends posted it on her facebook as a RIP.
ETA: It's pretty much confirmed. His parent reported him missing last the night I guess and the description matched him. Dammit! If I knew he was missing, we all would have gone out looking for him, yes, in a snow storm.

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — Police in northeastern Pennsylvania say they recovered more than 50 bags of heroin, cash and loose change from a woman following a cavity search.
Authorities say 27-year-old Karin Mackaliunas was detained last weekend following a crash. Scranton police say they found three bags of heroin in her jacket and after being taken to the police station she told investigators she had more hidden in her ######.
A doctor performed a search and recovered 54 bags of heroin, 31 empty bags used to package heroin, prescription pills and $51.22.

Thanks guys. I talked to some of my cousins last night and feel absolutely horrible I wasn't there. I'm the oldest of 14 on this side and they look up to me. It had to be particularly hard because my Aunt's & Uncle's are on a cruise and they didn't have them around to help console them. Because of the cruise and the fact that my other Aunt & Uncle are in Florida right now, the services won't be until 3/31 & 4/1. I've never had to wait so long to put a loved one to rest and it really sucks. Plus 3/31 is the opening day of baseball so I gave my awesome tickets away today. In the grand scheme of things it isn't that big of deal, and it isn't. I don't even feel like going to be honest with you but it's like life giving you a power wedgie after you already crapped your pants in front of Charlie's Angels.
I thought about sharing some stories about my Grandfather but I really don't feel like it. Maybe the next time I'm drunk. I don't know. Right now my biggest concern is my Aunt/Godmother. She had surgery today and my Mom said it went well. The doctor wouldn't say if it was cancer or not though until they get the pathology report. Initially my Aunt said she heard the doctor say it was cancer but then backed off that and said she might have been under the anesthesia still. Mrs. SLB says that generally, they will tell you right away if it is cancer. Here's hoping it's not.

Very true for all us but especially my Dad. The lucky part of being a drunken accident in the back of a Nova is that I knew 3-Great Grandfathers, 2-Great Grandmothers and the rest of my Grandparents quite well.

Doing better. They were off of school yesterday and I used the opportunity to teach Cal how to ride. It is one of the highlights in my life. Without the help from the meds he never would have had the patience to learn. But every time he fell, he got right back on until he was cruising all over the place. I've spent pretty much every minute with them the last 3 days. They bring peace to my life.
To everyone I didn't quote, Rudi, E10, Zooks, Mrs. BSR, SteevieG, Kev, Sam, Doc, YSR, and anybody I may have missed, thanks again. Things are tough and it certainly helps having your support. Mrs. BSR, that is just awful. I'm so sorry.

A couple of weeks ago I bought this "new" vacuum on E-bay. I'm normally a little hesitant towards refurbished but it is highly rated on Consumer Reports and a lot cheaper than new.
It worked great for a couple of days but then the handle kept detaching. I called them and they offered me a replacement but I told them I just didn't feel like screwing with it. The told me to just throw it away and gave me a full credit.
So I bought this part popped it in and it works great again.

Celebratory times at the Gadzooks compound. 4 and half year old "Little Zooks" has mastered the art of pooping on the toilet. I never thought the day would come, but it's now been a full week and I will never have to buy another pull up again. The only odd thing is that for some reason he has to take off all of his clothes when he goes. I'm so thrilled he's going on the toilet that I don't even care about the naked pooping. I think he is a little embarrassed about the fact that he takes all of his clothes off, so just to make sure that he has no negative feelings about using the toilet, I told him that I would also take off all of my clothes when I poop. I'm getting used to it and I think I kinda prefer it this way now. Should be interesting the first time he strips down at pre-school when it's time to take the kids to the pool.

wife went to her school dance (teacher) on Saturday night, I'm up in Portland and couldn't go. This fat f'n ##### bag has made comments to her before testing the water if she would be down to have an affair with him. He even offered money at some point 
. So of course while I'm gone this ### comes up to her at the auction/dance and tests the water again. He introduces her to a Coast Guard guy and his wife knowing that I'm in the Coast Guard. They try to figure out if we know each other and don't so he asks to meet me, well the wife tells the Coastie that I'm out of town on response. ######## hears this and after the friend walks away tells her that with me out of town there is nothing keeping her from not going back to his house. This guy is married and loaded with cash and has muliple homes in the area. She said she instantly turned around and walked away without saying a word. Today she told her principal and the principal called the guy and told him to stop all contact with my wife. Evidently another teacher the year before had the same issue with this guy but didn't want a phone call made. He is not a teacher he is a parent of one of the students and evidently uber rich. I told the wife I'm close to getting a restraining order and shockingly she did not disagree.
