GM's thread about nothing (30 Viewers)

I like this new guy. Always a fan of just jumping right in.
Says the guy that joined in ought 10.**Still new in here, so I understand that most of you would know that this was just a shot at easy humor. I know that GPJ has been around much longer than his meager user date may suggest. Just ensuring that you all catch my scent in case I decide to roam this turf with all of you long term. That was the LAST disclaimer. You get me, or you don't going forward.Dik (and yes, I would qualify for posting this in the drunk thread instead of here)
Stop posting disclaimers. Weak.
I said that was the last one. Why pile on now? Some of you take this way too serious**Eat me
This is serious ####### bidness. How are you getting drunk in Bahrain? Isn't it a dry country?
It is very hot and rains only a few days a year, but I don't imagine that is what you mean based on the words that you placed on this page. Bahrain is the Las Vegas of the Middle East. For some reason the fact that it is an island hides you from prying eyes that might otherwise condemn you. Saudi uses Bahrain as it's weekend playground. Every major hotel serves and runs multiple clubs (and girls), some of the restaurants serve, and there are a few liquor stores as well. The cost out in town (the country, it is very small) is not worth it to me, but it is easy to get. The population of the country increases greatly starting on Thursday night (the beginning of the weekend out here). I pick up what I want on the base, but we have a ration. 1 six pack of beer = 1 point, 1 bottle of wine (up to 1.75l)=1 point, a bottle of liquor above 60 proof=5 points, and a bottle below 60 proof reverts back down to a point. You get 20 pointsper month if you are here for at least a year. If you like to imbibe it can become quite the math problem at times (you can get a drink at the club on base, so it is usually simple math).
I would make friends with all the Muslim and Mormon soldiers around.

I had a much easier time staying up-to-date with this thread when I was not posting. This is hard work, how the hell do you all do it?

Good thing I am normally awake when all of you are sleeping, I might get a chance to catch up.

It is 12:30am on the "Island of Not Quite Right".

I bet the woman are absolutely gorgeous.

I can't figure out how to log in to this stupid site on my stupid phone.

NOTE: No, I am not posting this from my phone.

I'm intrigued by 2 things:1. Are we going to end up with a poster where the majority of his posts have come in this thread?2. Is this just drunk posting and tomorrow you'll fade back into Bolivian?

overseas right now and have a 10am flight tomorrow (it's almost midnight right now). Do I pull the allnighter and sleep on the plane so i'll be back on schedule?

depends. are you coming from the east or west?
Coming from East (Amsterdam - already been out and about). I figure if I board the plane at 9 and crash that will be like 2am at home; which i can pull off. I am at the airport hotel, so I could even get a few hours of sleeep in the hotel and just walk to the plane and crash again.

The electric company has threatened rolling blackouts if the Wallow fire in Arizona burns through the power lines that power our area. Apparently we buy it from California. We had rolling blackouts when the temperature plummeted to 1 degree and froze our power plant back in February. We're just so inept out here. My power was turned off about 20 times in 3 or four days.

This could really suck. We've had a solid week of 100 degree weather. Plus, everytime there's a blackout, my automatic watering drip system loses its programming. And I wanted to leave for about a month.

Goodbye tomatoes. I hardly knew ye, and never tasted ye neither.

Perhaps moving from the desert is a possible solution.

1. Currently yes, I like this place. I don't always feel the same about many of the threads in the FFA. There are of course a ton of exceptions, we will see.2. This is a drunk post. However, I think the last few days may have been my coming out party. I have posted extremely infrequently in the past, but I don't really have crap out here. I know some of you better than I know most of my co-workers in-country and they turn over just about as frequently as people have to change user names here. At least the same personality stays behind the new user name. Hack/Stryker(sorry if it is wrong, but I am not checking the spelling tonight)/GM/YSM/DA RAIDERS(might be wrong as well, I am going off of memory and I am pretty toasted)/MISSING PERSON or TWO/and you have all responded positively to me including myself in the best thread on this website. I will keep posting as long as I am not a nuisance, there are plenty of those already on FBGs

Can I vote for the prostitute here?
You can do just about anything* you want in here. *so long as Rudnicki is around to whitewash away infractions like "hunch humping".
I got a week for that and somehow Truck survived posting a magic word that would guarantee an ejection in a sporting event if said to a referee. Live and learn I guess.
Fart?
Close, but it wasn't that outrageous.

I'm at the airport waiting for a flight to Amsterdam right now. See you at Schipol in the morning!

I'm going to be sorely disappointed with the citizens of the greater Dallas area if there are no chants tonight referencing Rashard Lewis.
I don't get it...
There are COMPLETELY UNSUBSTANTIATED internet rumors that Lebron's girlfriend had intimate relations with Rashard Lewis this past weekend.http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2011/06/those_dirty_lebron_james_and_r.php
Why go into a corner though? He's Lebron ####### James. Hate #### the Mavs then make it rain.

NBA players are becoming more creative. I like it. I wonder how Jordan would have reacted to that.

"You know, Mike, every year come playoff time, one of us is going to #### somebody close to you and make sure you don't win titles. Might be your moms. Might be your wife. You got any daughters yet, Mike?"

Everyone's got a different brain.

Jordan's response:"I bet you $500K that I score 35 a game, win the series, and if necessary, beat that ##### at halfcourt with the Larry O'Brien Trophy."

Also has same username on other sites, giving credence to this whole Bahrain thing.
Too many sites, might be time to do something about that. Easy nut to crack. Anyone interested in my SS#? People are dumb(me).

I have also thrown out clues to accounts at pokerstars(rip), xbox live, and :e:lsewhere.

ETA: I spent a ton of time writing crap that no one would care about

I may have an alias here, I think I used a different name from work for awhile. If I posted, it was way less than what I have here if at all.

I have been banned twice. My latest ban is not due to expire until the end of 2012.

Both bans happened under the username I am using now. FACT

Being banned twice in under 200 posts means you all should be wary of letting me frequent here.

(e-mailed the staff after each asking what had happened and it appears I just hang around the wrong people and IPs. Reinstated the same day)

Found out today I'm not going to make partner at my giant law firm. 50% depressing, 50% relief. Probably my ambivalence about the prospect of being partner here is why it isn't happening. Think I'll get drunk tonight. I am NOT looking forward to telling my wife. She is going to freak out that I need to find a new job. On the good side, the firm is giving me several months to look around and find the right fit for my next gig.

Wait, so if you're not going to make partner, you have to leave? Don't most firms have "Of Counsel" for more senior attys. who don't make partner?Big law sounds like a hard slog. A lucrative slog, but a hard slog nonetheless.

Many firms have Of Counsel positions, but not mine. It is indeed a grind of a way to make a living. Paychecks are big, but it is a real grind. Partnership track at a big firm is best described as a pie eating contest, where the reward for winning is, you guessed it, more pie.
