Speaking from my experience, I had two dogs with terminal lymphoma and had met with over 4 vets, including two specialists. Chemo for us wasn't really a good option for two reasons. First, it can be extremely expensive. Secondly, and most importantly for me, best case scenario was another 6 months to a year. These were both very young dogs. I just couldn't justify the cost for, at best, a few more months.But, some people do go the chemo route and it's worked out for them. I seem to recall a FBG that received another full year with his dog, and it was a choice they are glad they made.Sorry you are going through it. It sucks balls. I sometimes still choke up when I think about putting them down. :sob:

Yeah. Our 11 year old dog was diagnosed with mast-cell tumors about 2 years ago. After taking a look at all of the options (surgery, chemo, radiation) we decided to let her live until she was actually suffering. We put her to sleep this last March. I couldn't image putting her through all of those treatments just because we wanted her around.

I can count on one hand how many times I've gone two days in a row without drinking. And I'm not talking about having a few beers, I mean absolutely hammered.

This is the way I'm leaning...she is already so frail that I can't imagine putting her through all of that, to only see her get sick again. She's almost 11 years, so she's not that young either. If anything this could be better since she will never has to deal with hip/sight problems...Get the results in tomorrow afternoon to see if it's even a treatable form of cancer.

Yeah, I was buzzed until about 2pm today and the last drink I had was about 1am Monday. I actually pulled over on the way home from KC and made Mrs. SLB drive.
