GM's thread about nothing (16 Viewers)

So given the lack of attrition, it seems likely that many of us will still be posting here (or a substitute for this place if it ever closes shop) when we're old. That seems strange to me. Like a whole board full of Sea Bass.

I don't remember Blue Onion being all that prolific. Are you sure the other ones don't post under different names? I know Zippy was using a variety of aliases for a long time, and he was posting at some of the side boards.
blue onion has over 18,000 posts--more than fullback fro--and he was gone for like 2 years. he must have posted a lot in the baseball forum or something.

I guess I was wrong on that one then.

When I started posting here, I was an unmarried law student. Now I've got a 7 year old girl, a pending divorce of a marriage that lasted 10+ years, and I'm contemplating retiring from law. Definitely weird that this place is the one constant.

How many really prolific posters have ever actually left the FFA (and related boards)? I'm looking at the list of the top 60 and I think shiny is the only one that doesn't still actively post. Smoo doesn't really post here any more, but he's still around. Maybe Ferris has done it, but I'm not sure (he's not on the top 60 list but I think he would be). It's a tough habit to break. Good luck to shuke.
Happy Schnapps been mentioned yet? The_Pod? Stompin Tom Connors?

GM showing off his notebook here. Some good ones.

ETA: But none of them posted nearly as much or for as many years as shuke. I think it's easier for some to walk away than others.

A lot of us were on old yellar for years. When did that start/end? I know end of 97 beginning of 98 is when my work starting having the net.

If it wasn't for this thread, I would have probably have left the boards for good when I quit posting as the rover--that was actually my intention at the time. This is a necessary refuge when timscrotch, jim11/levi, etc are spamming the first page. 80% of my posts are probably in here now.

I didn't even know you were rover, you good peeps, stick around.

Zippy isn't on either sideboard that I've seen since he got married. Dumped FB too. Fluffer/Zoot and Huck left though I wouldn't call them Shuke-caliber. I always found it funny that Hucks only friend was Zoot and her only friend was Swires.

Xnought brought the owl shtick among others. Amusing guy.

So why is it that smoke detectors can only malfunction in the dead of the night, the loud shriek instantly elevating you a couple feet off the bed 2-3 hours before you need to get up?

I love this time of year. Hot, muggy, and everyone posts those beautiful pictures of their car's thermometers on Facebook.

Yeah, WTF is up with that?
How hot is it in YOUR car today?

I can't believe it. They finally got to you, too.
I didn't post it on FB though. I haven't check it in a couple of days & noticed this phenomenon this morning.Speaking of FB, here's the comment I just posted and deleted on GM's post last night.

Looks like you finally found a group where you'll have one of the biggest penises.
I can never tell where the line is. :kicksrock:

Road trip to see the United/Fire game this weekend. Any Chicagoans want to refer a place to eat/drink near Soldier Feild? I haven't been up there in years.
