GM's thread about nothing (38 Viewers)

Going to the Underwater Music Festival on August 20. They bring a barge out that serves as a stage and have bands play from noon to 10 pm. No seating, no tickets. You can only get there by boat, and there is a small island (Cutts or Deadmans, depending on who you talk to) that you can beach at, but most people just raft up their boats. First year they got busted for not having permits. Last year they did it right and about 450 boats showed up. This year should be bigger. I'm guessing it will be the last, since last year's was on the verge of being out of control.

14 different statistics (7 batter, 7 hitter) go into evaluating each play, and there is a certain amount of subjectiveness to it as well. For example, if a leadoff hitter on an NL team is given a YES/NO rbi line I would be more inclined to make something borderline a play based on the fact that he will have the pitcher batting in front of him.

You don't think that fact is built in to the line?

I'm sure it is, but it still seems to be working.

Might depend on which stats, no?

Considering he's taking a bunch of 1-2/3-5 odds, I'm sure he does.

Boss just got a big meeting with the real GM on Tuesday. Putting together a presentation with a new tag line on the cover. Thoughts on this?

I like that you got the bad guy from Terminator 2.The font used seems to result in some odd spacing when combined with caps. Some of the words kind of run together.

Is gallium a rare earth?
No. The REE group is considered to include the 15 lanthanide elements: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, promethium (does not occur naturally), neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium. The elements yttrium and scandium are also included as they have similar chemical properties, making 17 REEs in total. The resource and market details refer to REEs in the oxide form and the group is collectively discussed as Rare Earth Oxides (REO).

Those nuke plants look scary as ####.
:goodposting: That was my initial thought, with Japan and all, but I realize that GM has to deal with a clientele that isn't fazed by this.

My only other question: are the pictures up top tied in at all with the pictures below? I.e do rare earths help somehow with windmills? I'm a big fan of symmetry, so unless they are tied to one another, it seems off balance a little.

ETA: I'm also the person who thought that JB's "pig in a fire with a star in his eye" logo could be interpreted as anti-Semitic, so what do I know)

Putting the street address on the first slide of your presentation is customary in your industry??
