GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

No idea how I forgot this.

Saturday night the wife and I stayed at this hotel near Cal Poly Pomona. We were on the 3rd floor and our half-assed balcony was almost directly over the hot tub. I go out on the balcony at about 11pm and there were 3 dudes in their late 20s sitting in the spa drinking Stella Lavoris and smoking cigs. I go back out about 30 minutes later and I see two girls (maybe 7/10 on the normal scale) approach the hot tub with towels wrapped around them. One of them takes off her towel to reveal a bikini and then gets into the tub.

The other girl drops her towel to reveal that she is only wearing one half of her bikini...the top half. Swear to god the girl had no bottoms on. At first I didn't believe. I thought for sure she was wearing a teeny tiny thong or nude colored panties. She had her back to me at first but when turned to get in the tub there was clearly a landing strip. What was weird is that the 3 guys in the tub didn't say a thing.
Not sure I'd say anything. Why would you want her to leave?
Great point. Act like you've been there before. I went out a couple of more times over the next hour
:lmao:

Cosjobs is driving a convertible Camero. :lmao:
Better up in the NW than stuck in Southern Cal traffic eating smog for hours...while extravagant, this vehicle would be quite the treat while rolling down the coast of Oregon about a month ago. Has the weather turned yet? The wife said the rain was just around the corner a few days ago.
Overcast today with drizzle here and there. About 64 degrees. Should be like this for a few weeks. I actually love this weather...
Me too, it is home. Bad time to upgrade to the convertible though.
Didn't exactly upgrade to a convertible. Got Luxury car thru Priceline fro $21/day. When I got there the only ones they had were Lincolns. I told them I hated Lincolns and the only other thing they has to offer was this Camaro. Its been way to wet to take the top down and the trunk is about as roomy as a jock strap, but for about 15 winding, curvy miles on Hwy 30 along the COlumbia River, just east of Astoria, the pavement dried out and I put the car thru its paces. THat was fun.

Which overly sensitive mod locked my Curtis Painter thread in the SP? I wasn't done schooling that JuSt Cuz d-nozzle.

Certainly nobody objects to that.

I procrastinated too long cashing out of Pokerstars. Now I can't even log on to get my money. So I'm emailing back and forth with pokerstars support. On the plus side, they respond pretty fast.

After a failed attempt to run a file they emailed me, they have suggested that they can initiate a cashout on my behalf to the bank account linked to my Pokerstars account. And if that is no longer active, I could email them the name, routing number, and account number of my current account. This sounds fishy.. And not the party animal kind in Washington..

OK. Someone tell me why I need to give this much of a damn about breast cancer.Cancer sucks. I just think cancers that don't have a 90% survival rate need a much bigger microscope. Can someone slap me with perspective here?
Boobs are cool.
At the great Seattle cornhole/think tank, I asked the table if they were all aware of breast cancer? After all answered 'yes' I proposed we could all quit wearing pink #### and seeing it in every aspect of our lives..Britney then told me how they were a vile non-profit who sic'ed corporate lawyers on another disease charity that had the audacity to use the term "the cure"

this cosjobs trip is pretty fascinating. he just flew to Seattle at the last minute and is crashing in a fellow FBGs house with said FBG not even around?I assume there's more to the trip than that.
my house is more of a base of operations. cos doesn't need a babysitter or tour guide, and I have no wife, no kids living with me, and an extra bedroom. I've got a lot of stuff going on right now, between what I thought was going to be massive trial and the fact that I seem to have accidentally fallen for a girl 16 years younger than me. cos is the most low maintenance houseguest you'd ever want. So far his only messages to me: "your remote is a whore" and "do you have a real wine opener?"
At Costco last night, he also picked up about 2 dozen bottles of wine and some very nice looking filet mignons which makes him an appealing houseguest in my book.
I barely iknow him and he's welcome at my place.

Can you log on to transfer or anything?

No, I can't log onto it at all. Long before it starts loading up and checking for updates, a page comes up about no online gambling for US citizens, and that's where it stops. I downloaded the pokerstars.net one for play money, and there is no cashier. But I was able to email them from there. I told them to go ahead and initiate a cash out with the bank account information they had, but I didn't give them any additional information. They said they would review my request.

I just cashed out of mine last week. I had a problem with the software update, and couldn't get to the D/L page anymore (thanks, DOJ), but I e-mailed them and they sent back a software installer. Installed it, went to the cashier, and had my $$$ (ok, $$) out and into my bank within 3 days. Sounds like the same process as you, except you couldn't get the updated software installed.

I wonder does it recognize you as America due to registered address or current ip.

I do not believe 'awareness' is a zero sum game. I don't think there is any need to draw attention away from breast cancer to increase the awareness of other life threatening diseases. I support your efforts in this. And yes, you all sound like douchebags.

My mom's a breast cancer survivor so I, for one, am pleased that so much attention has been given to research, treatment, etc.

That said, I know that there are other forms of cancer that are equally as devastating when one loses a loved one, so of course I'm sorry that most awareness efforts are for a select few cancers.

Supposedly, it was supposed to look like the red spade icon when I renamed it. It didn't. It was supposed to install when I double clicked on it. It just briefly opened a dos command-prompt window that disappears and nothing more happens.

Are cures for one cancer necessarily useless fighting other forms of cancer? I'd think if we find a way to cure one, that would be a big step in the right direction for the others, no? My old man has bladder cancer, which is mostly his own damn fault. And it sucks. And he's been battling it for a dozen years now. But I've no problem with giving boobs their stage.

There are some that are related, yes. However, it's not like the Susan G Kommen Foundation is sharing their money or "research" with any other groups that are working on the big killers.

I am not saying they do some good stuff, but here is their use of funds from wiki:
In the 2009-2010 fiscal year, ending March 31, 2010, Komen reported approximately US $400 million in earnings. Of this, $365 million (91.3 percent) came from contributions from the public, including donations, sponsorships, race entry fees, and contributed goods and services. Approximately $35 million (8.8 percent) came from interest and dividends and gains on investments.[24]That same fiscal year, Komen reported approximately US $360 million in expenses. $283.2 million of this went towards program services: $75.4 million (20.9 percent of total expenditure) went to research, $140.8 million (39.1 percent) went to public health education, $46.9 million (13 percent) went to health screening services, and $20.1 million (5.6 percent) went to treatment services. The other $76.8 million went to supporting services, including $36.1 million (10 percent of total expenditure) toward fund-raising costs and $40.6 million (11.3 percent) toward general and administrative costs.
Here's what the National Cancer Institute spends on research:
How much does NCI spend each year on research for specific types of cancer? The following table shows NCI spending in FY 2008, 2009, and 2010 for the 10 most common types of cancer in the United States, based on 2010 incidence estimates (and excluding basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers).** The cancers are listed in decreasing order of incidence (i.e., from the highest number of new cases to the lowest).**Source of spending data: NCI Office of Budget and Finance (OBF).

Mrs. JTG is in the field (the cancer field, not the boob field...well, er, nm).anyway, there's a big disparity between the attn breast and fundage breast cancer gets compared to other forms. She's involved with ovarian and its gets about 3% of the attn breast cancer gets.

what TRE said, I think :bag:
I'm all for the ovarian and other kinds getting more. This was started by people complaining about pink #### and breast cancer having a whole month of awareness. Kind of like bigots complaining about February.Besides...some of the breast cancer funds are bound to spill over into ovarian because of the BRCA research.

:goodposting:My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer almost a year ago and appears to have beaten it. She is on some hormonal pill now that she is to take for 5 years. On the other hand, in 2007 my uncle was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died exactly 2 months later. It was a horrible thing to witness. Pancreatic seems like a type that is an instant death sentence because it is normally too late once a diagnosis is made.

This is true. Though I don't think it is the amount of attention/research into either that creates this disparity. It is the type of cancer itself.

Anybody ever give HBO's Latin/Spanish Channel a go? I did last night for a few enough minutes. Holy moly...You guys ever catch what goes on there? Last night was some show about hookers in Uraguay. I think. I don't really know any spanish, but I think I got the word for 'hooker' and 'Uruguay' down.

Makes Real Sex and Cathouse look like Real People and Dollhouse.
