GM's thread about nothing (30 Viewers)

Guys, I am going to need a daily recap of this thread posted nightly, about 9:00 PM EST or so. I just can't keep up any more.

today was lots of neat stories about people's kids either being bullied, fighting back against bullies or stories about parents experiences with bullies/fighting back against bulliesoh and YSR is getting divorced

I think I've posted about my weirdo, "helicopter parent" cousin before. She's the one that made her kids wear safety glasses when they had a Silly String "war". Just now on Facebook she posted what she did today. It was basically a long list of helping out with fundraisers, volunteering for some gardening class, and shleping her kids around. It was one big long "look at me! I'm super-mom".Among the things she had to do was take her 9 year old son to ballet.
A.C. Slater was trained in ballet.
You going to carry that over to this thread too?

Pre-gay, huh?
I don't think there's any "pre" about it.

Whoa, I hadn't gotten that far yet. Sorry to hear, YSR.

I caught a little FB flak recently for posting a link about a HS kid here in Upstate NY that was killed on the football field. Said I'll never let my boy play football. Out came all the people crying I was being too safe. Are you going to ban him from skateboarding and riding a bike too? Yes, I will. When skateboarding and bike riding involve 230lbs kids on HGH trying to piledrive you into the concrete every five feet. I love football. Don't get me wrong. But this business with brain trauma has got me seriously spooked. I'm all for my boy doing crazy, existential stuff. I once hung from an 800 foot cliff while on acid. I recommend he do the same (only not on LSD). But putting yourself in line for repeated brain trauma...well, ok. Maybe they're both equally stupid.I realize I just argued myself into a corner. Still. I ain't a helicopter parent, you bastards.

He's prognosticating here, big guy. She's at least 6 months away from divorcing Tony.

So I have tickets to the Bruins tonight as well as limo transportation. The guy organizing called me and said 'hey, we don't want to bring the limo all the way intown to get you if we don't have to, can you meet us at the commuter lot out by the mall?'

I figure that makes sense; that way they don't have to come off the highway by much. Then I realize I have a lunch meeting out by the mall today anyway. O happy day! It appears God has a plan for me, and it includes having a 2-beer lunch and then stretching it out to a multiple beer afternoon at Applebee's or some other non-FFA approved mall chain until the limo picks me up around 3. Also, the whole trip is expensed so nothing out of pocket.

Did I mention I may meet up with Gadzooks and his munchkin as well? T&P accepted. :banned:

I think the munchkin is playing hard to get, which is an odd strategy since I'm trying stay away and pretend like nothing happened. After her non-stop texts on Thursday and Friday, she stopped texting completely over the weekend. Then yesterday she sends me a long text about she doesn't understand guys because this guy she's been kinda seeing for a few weeks has been acting strange lately. My only response to her was "what NBA player does this guy look like?" She hasn't responded back.

PS what is the go-to cover story when cornholing? I don't think I want to tell one of my clients that this is my funny friend from the internet.

just say he's a friend of a friend and you're in a fantasy football league together. or keeping up with the recent theme, say you guys went to grade school together and you used to bully him. you recently reconnected over facebook, but he won't leave you alone and has started stalking you. he suggested couples counseling but you talked him into drinks before the Bruins game instead.

It's interesting to people that don't live in Canada's soul-patch.

speaking of which, was watching Balls of Fury with my 8yo this weekend.

Old Chinese guy in the movie: It is better to die like a tiger, than live like a p###y.

8yo: I think I'd rather live like a p###y.

I have no hope of remaining up to date on this thread over the next 60 days. Will someone please PM me a daily update with links to the can't miss posts? TIA
