Trying out a recipe for sweet potato cakes with cilantro lime sauce. It's a possible Thanksgiving dish. Hope it works out. :fingerscrossed:
Result: :moneybag: The sauce is a sour cream base and an excellent contrast to the sweet potato cakes. This will be on the Thanksgiving menu.
I'll take a PM. Mrs. Ignoramus is on some caveman diet (lucky for me, cavemen only lived to about 30) so hopefully I can adapt the sour cream dressing to something containing soy milk and almond flour. I think sweet potatoes are kosher, though.
Been on the primal diet for about 6 months now. I really enjoy it. If you are a big fan of meat and veggies then it should work out well for you.

Booze is okay for the most part you just have to watch the carbs. I stay away from beers mainly and drink red wine or mixed drinks with diet coke or combe zero. If you watch your carbs during the day you can splurge a little bit more with booze.

On what Bizarro world did the cosmos decide that a goober like Eli Manning would be Tom Brady's kryptonite?

How about the "orthodontist approved" pacifiers?
Somebody else said something similar to my experience with them...I used them with both boys when they were brand new up until they were a not quite a year. Neither one really cared when they were gone, but they served a purpose early in life. Hey, if you need sleep, you need sleep. What you don't want to do is continue the trend when they become mobile or are old enough to realize how much comfort a pacifier is. My sister's kids had nasty pacifier habits that continued until they were way way WAY past the due date for a binky. It was pretty gross and I had to bite my tongue a million times on the matter.Anyhow...IMO, fine for now, but ditch it before they know better. You do not want a 2 year old with a binky. Trust me.

We gave JR free reign with the pacifier. And he was way attached to them. When he was 18 months old, we quit buying new ones. And once he'd cracked all the ones he had, he gave up on them completely and never asked for one again. Lucky parenting success, I guess.

I did a thanksgiving testrun today, and regretting it now... Getting way sleepy.

Did a pancetta and sage "infused" bird, with a sage inspired dressing side. Turned out pretty good, so I'll probably do that TGD.

So I am in Denver a couple of days this week. I check in go to my room then head to the gym for a workout. While I am working out this guy in dress clothes comes in to the gym and heads straight for the pool. He starts to walk around it and walks over to a clipboard and starts writing stuff. I am totally shuked by this so after my workout I go over to the clipboard. The clipboard had a form to write recommendations for improvement. The guy wrote down the pool looked a little cloudy. Of course it looks cloudy you dumb hump it is a hotel pool not the Atlantic in Aruba. Hint the pool has chemicals to keep it sanitary from all the people who use it.

Not sure why that made me mad. Been a long day I guess

For now, Arz driving. I'm playing against Brown in mystical football and he is killing me.
I have no idea who Brown is. None.
The former Seattle kicker. I thought perhaps you may have heard of him.
First names down?
Sorry, Forrest.

If you're using a bunch of chemicals in your pool and the end result is a cloudy pool, you need to use different chemicals.

My in-laws have a huge dead tree in their backyard, and the power company is coming to cut it down tomorrow. So my husband and I went over there today for a couple of hours to clear a path for the power company to be able to walk back to the tree.

That's right, clear a path. They have probably 1/3-1/2 acre for a backyard. It presumably was very attractive at one point in time, but is now full of leaves and ground cover. That's not the issue. I can deal with leaves and ground cover. It's the estimated 750+ black, plastic planters (the cheap ones in which one buys plants at THD) that are inches apart in the yard. That and the multiple stacks of black, plastic bulb trays And the collection of buckets and trash cans and trash in general.

Not the best pictures, as I was on my phone and trying to be subtle.

My husband has spent some time every day of the last couple of weeks clearing out junk. And he's made progress. Today was my first day going over there and while things are looking better in the garage and dining room, there's a lot more work to be done. By this point, I think his father is feeling really fragile, emotionally. Today was the first time I saw that side of him; he truly does have a sickness and it is almost unbearable for him to let go of anything, much less the loads of stuff my husband has been hauling away. It's really sad.

Yeah, that's terrible. I will say that that is a very impressive collection of gardening related containers.

That's real poignant and all, but next time you load up a haul to the dump, please drop the trailer at the city limits and keep driving until you get to Greenville. Seriously.

I'm not a huge starch fan, so I pretty much have always eaten this way. The main reasons why I've gained weight have been quantity of food and alcohol.

You should have scantily clad women hid in the clutter and then spring out and yell, "Surprise!" every so often. It would be like a surprise birthday cake. It would cheer your FIL up I think.
