I resisted Sanduskying up your FB page.

This was almost as tempting as the time GM posted pics of Oregon cheerleaders. But I've tried to keep a strict G-rated approach to GMTAN FB people. Which is weird. Because to everyone else on FB I'm R rated and worse. I get the drift you all use FB differently though. It's a cleaner and family & business oriented. And your business isn't composed of stinky liberal poets and hippy professors.

This was sort of my clue re shoes. Prediction: you are less than two decades away from a tweed jacket with elbow patches, and three from a pipe.

No effing way. Never. True: IRL I really don't like being called a professor. Never will. I let my wife's grandfather call me that because it makes him feel better about the bum his darling granddaughter married, but really I think of myself as a writer/artist, i.e. an overgrown kid who plays with words and paint and other stuff. Teaching is a gig. I'm good at it and like it, but it's just a gig in my mind. I'll be wearing t-shirts and jeans when I'm fifty, much like my hero.

Don't all professors feel this way?

Not the ones I know. My one friend insists on his students calling him Dr. ----. He does it semi-ironically, but still....really? You have a PhD in English literature. You are not a Dr. And this guy is one of the coolest, most laid back professor friends I have.

Working in a surgery clinic has its perks. A device rep brought us Chinese food for lunch (ok, it was PF Chang's, but it was edible and free) and we had dinner at Truluck's (another chain, but the lobster bisque was really good and don't eat filet every night of the week).

I kinda like PF Changs. I really love Lobster Bisque. MmmmmmmmI took more Nyquil than I probably should have last night. The whole world looks like I'm viewing it through $40 night vision goggles right now.
