GM's thread about nothing (25 Viewers)

Glad I had a bye today because I would have been smoked by just about anyone. Not feeling real good about next week.

My kicker got 17 more points than my QB today. :worstfantasyseasonever:
:goodposting: I missed the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years.

No byes in my 24-team league. Looks like I'll be facing Mr. krista in the quest for the Super Bowl next week. :excited:

Why do I feel like broadcasts of Cowboys games show way too much Rob Ryan? I don't think we hardly ever see the defensive coordinators from other teams. Is it because that horrible haircut?

On a scale of 1-10 how gay is it that I'm voluntarily watching The Next Iron Chef over the football game? And by voluntary I don't mean I'm letting my wife choose, I mean I'm alone in my basement and I'm actively picking the cooking thing over the football thing.
8 - gayest guy is your basement; among the gayest guys locally

Cell phone alert: Tomorrow night I am attending my company XMAS party and at the same time on the other end of town, my new 22 year old "friend" is attending her company XMAS party. The plan is for both of us to leave the parties early and meet up at the GHOL (Gadzooks House Of Love) I plan on drinking heavily and doing fun things with/to the 22 year old and texting updates. (I'm looking forward to my late night drunk PM to Tanner, please advise of the appropriate alias you'd prefer it go to)

Last night, she came over to "hangout" and she told me how she really hated her job and wanted to quit. I asked what she would do for work if she quit and after a long pause she laughed and said "how about I move in here and be your full time live-in Nanny" (slap it high, GM?) I've become great at making a serious face and pretending to pay attention while she tells me what the Twilight movies are about. I'm pretty sure she's doing the same thing when I'm talking about current events in the world, or pretty much anything I talk about. It's really a perfect arrangement.

If you recall, when I first mentioned her, I was very worried about doing anything with her because I worried it may have some effect on my work. The fact that she is more concerned about keeping us a "secret" than I am definitely made it easier for me to participate in our "activities". She always mentions how everything we talk about or do HAS to stay in our "trust bubble". And finally, after the first time I gave in to temptation with her, I figured it would just be a 1 time thing. But then I exchanged the following the text with her the next day and realized that I owe it to every divorced guy, every horny guy, every average looking guy who doesn't deserve to be doing things with a 22 year old girl, hell I owed it to the GMTAN to stay aboard this ride for as long as I can until I die.
Bless you.
Doing the Lord's work here.

I just finished off a bottle of Pinello Rose Prosecco that I got for 6.75 (retails 14) and then cracked a very nice 05 Zivo Pinot Noir from Oregon that I got for 75 a case (retails 30/bottle). I was still very immature when I got it 2 years ago, but its drinking fantastic now.

I would totally do it with Melissa Joan Hart.
While it's unattractive that her chin slides seamlessly into her neck, this does have its advantages when ingesting lengthy items while staring up at the sky. For example, I bet she can chug beer like a champ. Or eat footlong sausages in one gulp.

That was one of the best games I've seen over the past few years. Lots of lead changes.

Yep, game got me out of decorating a christmas tree with the gf's family last night as it was so good (gf's family isn't into football at all except for an irrational hatred of the Cowboys) it drew everyone's attention away from the tree. I needed that Romo to Austin pass to connect for fantasy purposes, but frankly didn't care as it meant I didn't have to put ornaments up on a tree while the gf's mom tells me the backstory to every single bulb.

I need 14 points from Lynch tonight to advance to round two of the playoffs. Not bad for having lost Andre Johnson, Kenny Britt, Jahvid Best, and Matt Forte.

Got a new iPhone 4s this weekend. Huge upgrade over my old 3Gs which I loved more than one of my two kids.
Which kid?Mr. krista keeps telling me I should upgrade. What is it that you like so much better about the new one?
I have to keep the kid a secret.Much better screen resolution, everything just looks better. Faster processor makes everything just jump. Siri right now is a fun little plaything (I asked it, "Where can I hide the body?" and it listed 17 cemeteries in my area) but I see it becoming a huge mobile force. Huge improvement with the cameras. I don't own a camera, so everything I take is with my phone. The pictures I took this weekend of my kids were 100x better.Jumping for a 4 to a 4s doesn't make much sense (my brother is saving his upgrade for now), but if you have the 3Gs or older, it is a given to make the jump, you won't regret it.

I just booked a trip to Mexico to stay in my brother's vacation home in Loreto with two women half my age. Things are good in GMTAN these days.
Can I come with you?
How many guests will you be bringing? I'll need to stock the place with chicken nuggets and capri sun.
:lmao:
:lmao:In a related story...I walk in to work today and I see a bunch of kids on the grass area right near my classroom door. They're all laughing and pointing at something. As I get closer I notice that it is a pair of panties. Not sure if it makes the situation better or worse but they were not adult/adult sized. I go in my room and get set up for the day. About 10 minutes later I see that the underwear are still a big source of amusement for the kids walking in that area. I grab a yardstick and my trashcan and swiftly dispose of the panties.

I have the 3Gs. Thanks for the info; sounds like I really do need to upgrade. The camera part would be great for when I don't have our real camera.
:goodposting: Thought of fish as soon as I saw that post.

iphone 4s camera is better than most point and shoot options. upgrading from the 3g seems like a no-brainer unless you want to wait for the iphone 5 next year.

I'll just send them to the Dish.

Thanks. We have a super-fancy "real" camera because of all the traveling we do, but I wouldn't be lugging that around day-to-day, so a good camera on my phone would be awesome. I could have really used that last night to get a better picture of Santa Claus eating hot wings.

I figure that I will always leapfrog a generation and just be happy with it. Like I said, loved my 3Gs, skipped the 4, adore the 4s. Will skip the 5 and look forward to the 6 in two years. Also on the 4s vs. the 3Gs, FaceTime for those special crock pot sessions.

The 4S camera is pretty impressive.

Had a great WTF parent moment this weekend. Had my kids for the weekend, which is becoming really cool for everyone involved. I enjoy it of course, my kids are starting to understand it's a break in the routine that they enjoy, and my wife is starting to really take advantage of the free time. But I digress...

Saturday my 3 year old daughter has taken control of the big TV in the living room. She was watching some Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr. Once the show was over she had a simple request: she wanted to watch another one. I tried to explain that the show was over and another one was not coming on. It was time for Franklin, Backyardigans or some other talking animal cartoon. She completely did not understand this and threw the biggest of 3 year old fits. 30 mins of pure screaming and yelling, begging, demanding and pleading for more Yo Gabba Gabba. I tried to sooth her with Yo Gabba Gabba on my phone or laptop, but she wanted it on the "big TV".

All she has ever known was watching TV with Netflix Streaming. She just didn't understand why she couldn't watching another of the show she just watched. Later on Sunday, I sat both her and my 7 year old down, and tried to show them how there is a "TV Guide" that tells you what is on, at a specific time, showing the clock in correlation with the guide.

The whole ordeal made me very frustrated and feeling very ####### old.

I did a quick search in the middle of the fit, but didn't find anything. Will have to do better research before the kids come over again.I also didn't think about just rewinding the one she just watched. That would have worked as well probably.

Yeah, that blows. Must have made you feel pretty old for sure.Say, you know what REALLY makes you feel old? Older than having to explain the concept of TV Guide to your children? WHEN A PARENT OF ANOTHER CHILD ON YOUR SONS' SOCCER TEAMS ASKS YOU DURING YOUR FIRST PRACTICE IF YOUR WIFE - WHO IS HELPING YOU COACH - IS YOUR DAUGHTER!!!!@1111 :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot:

jesus that's embarassing (for the person who asked the question anyway).

Another great end game solution. But at the time, nothing short of bringing DJ Lance Rock into my house would have calmed this child down.

Really? Seems like you're winning on that one. Beats having them ask if that's your mom.
