GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

My engagement party is tonight. :suds: And I had surgery yesterday to remove my left ovary and a cyst the size of a grapefruit along with some other issues. The surgery went well and everything was clean. It has been a long past six weeks. I got to go home last night and there is no way I'm letting a surgery keep me from the party tonight. Vicodin helps too.Throughout it all, my GF and I made a promise to stay positive, which we did. And to stay strong, which we did. She has been incredible throughout all this. She drove me to all my appointments, kept a folder together of pertinent information to take to each appointment, etc. Not only that, but she went on a liquid diet with me. I didn't have to ask for anything and would never dream of asking her to do all that she did.She proposed to me on December 5. She said she wanted me to know she was in it for the long haul, no matter what happens. And she wanted to do it before I went into surgery so that in my mind, if everything went well, I would never doubt her intentions for asking me. In other words, "Is she only asking because I'm ok?"During our ordeal, I told myself I wouldn't look up anything related to my symptoms, etc. What I didn't know couldn't hurt me and I thought it would be better not to know in order to remain as optimistic and positive as possible. What I didn't know is that she looked up my symptoms and based on what we knew at the time, there was a 90% chance it could be cancer. Thank God she never told me that. But finding that out last night from her after I got home makes me love her even more as she proposed to me knowing that there could be a 90% chance that it wouldn't be good news. :suds:
Hey gal, sorry to hear about all the troubles with your mommy parts.
Thank you and don't you mean fingermitten? ;)

Thank you, Drifter. We don't have a date set yet nor a state. We will definitely elope. No one from my family would attend. In fact, my parents have not met her yet as they refused to up until yesterday. I got an email saying I could invite her to dinner at the club on Friday, but my mother made it clear she was not invited to any family holiday functions. :hot: So my plan is to tell my mother tmr. that I will spend a couple of hours with them on Christmas Eve but not to expect me on Christmas Day.
Well that sucks.

MacArtist, sorry to hear about you getting married.Seriously - glad to hear you're okay

We are meandering to SC today, taking the scenic route through such tourist traps as Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Am currently lunching at Fuddruckers, which for some reason makes me think of GM. Little help here?
we've pretty much exhausted hamburger chatthat was 300 pages ago. good memory.
Ahh, that's it. I need a wife.
Fuddruckers is a fabulous place to find a wife. Seriously, how can a place that offers all the free condiments you want not rank #1 over the rest? You want 56 pickles, you got it.

I kind of want to go to Fuddruckers and just make some kind of condiment salad without even adding a burger to the mix.

I wonder how Knuckles is going to react when she finds out about the paralegal situation
funny you should ask...hadn't seen her in a couple weeks. after going out to a birthday party last night, she texted just as I was headed home (cab, by the way--yay me). stopped by her house (don't judge me...by now you should expect poor decisions regarding women, especially women with no boundaries or self esteem). since I have absolutely nothing to lose, I told her the whole thing. didn't phase her a bit, although the sex had a sort of angry feel toward it, which was awesome. she wouldn't give me a ride home this morning, though.
Judge you? I want to give you a medal.

Clearly you're going to destroy marriage and should be stopped. We don't need this kind of behavior in society.
Don't forget that if we adopt a bunch of kids, it will turn they gay too.
Hmmmmmm.....does that mean if you adopt my son that he'll turn ungay?

I don't think they monitor what goes on around the condiment area since they are all so busy making the best burger patties in North America, so fair game, I say! Also really like their ice cold beer selection. Wake me up when you can get a beer at In & Out, Five Guys, Burger King, Rally's, Checkers, Sbaro or any other place that serves good burgers.

Almost made it through the entire day without doing any discernible work and with one hour left til the finish line some auditor wants to come review some invoices. :hot:
I've been an auditor for almost 5 years, 3 in IT and 2 recently in accounting (I have a background in both). I am over it, the entire reason that I am currently looking to cut and run to work on "the other side of the table." I am sick of being everyone's inconvenience. I can see how that would frustrate you.

Nope. Not at the ones I've been to. Just an stupid chain joint with peanut shells everywhere, horrible decor, no ESPN, obnoxious employees, meatless burgers and limited condiments. I don't want a coke with my burger. I'm a grown man. Give me a cold damn beer.

you can in every single Chipotle I've ever been too. Delicious Dos Equis with a nice big burrito.ETA:

On a 6-0 vote, the commission approved a permit for Chipotle at at 804 Avenida Pico. John Murray, a representative for the permit applicant, said Chipotle serves beer and wine in its restaurants and is now serving margaritas, which require a full alcohol permit. He said Chipotle is getting close to being ready to pull permits to perform site improvements.

Wow, Chipotle here doesn't serve beer....course I never eat in the store. Only take out about 2 times a year. Our CFO's kids bring it in when they are home from college. Their burritos are an absolute gut bomb. Very heavy. Had no idea they sold beer and they may not in Oregon.

5 Guys does NOT serve beer here. I assure you of that.

There's one 1/4 mile from my house. I've never been in there but I'm 75% sure they don't serve beer.

sorry to hear about your troubles finding a Chipotle that serves beer.
:lmao: They'd have to do more than serve beer to get me in there. I don't hate the place but I've never seen the appeal considering their prices. Within the same distance there are two sit-down Mexican places with full bars and better food.

BAKERSDALE CHIPOTLE
Chipotle serves Mexican and American beers and tequila margaritas, no wine. Margaritas are only $2.25, and pretty strong. A sign bills it as the best margarita you'll ever get in a plastic cup.

Chipotle can be recommended for a fine dining experience.

Sorry about your overabundance of pseudo-Mexican fare.
