GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

I'm very close to drunk. One more scotch should do it.
Update?
passed drunk 1 scotch, 1 beer, and 1 bad decision involving a woman ago
A situation involving a woman who is past drunk is never a bad decision in my book.
either I was too drunk to write a good sentence or you were too drunk to understand it. try the edited version.
Yes.

'zooks, very sorry about your friend.

YSR, I too broke my ### once; was nothing to do but just wait for it to get better. This was also before the advent of good drugs. :(

Started drinking yesterday at 6 a.m. with mimosas on our first flight. Ramped it up a lot starting with the Saint/49ers game, at a Granada bar with one other American and a bunch of Nicaraguans. The largest TV was on the NFL games, complete with Spanish commentary (watching Tony Siragusa dubbed in Spanish was pretty funny). The other TVs were all tuned to baseball as Granada's team made the semifinals and they are now tied with the deciding game today to see if they make it to the finals. Please see my post previously in this thread about the wonder that is Nicaraguan baseball--these people LOVE their baseball like nothing else.

The only other American was from SF and had brought his various uncles, cousins, etc. to the bar to watch. Everyone in the bar except one guy was rooting for the Niners (sorry TF). The place was absolute madness as huge cheers would be going up for both the football and the baseball games, and everybody screaming at one another constantly. Maybe the most fun I've ever had watching a football game, except for feeling sorry for the two hookers in the corner that no one paid attention to because they were all more interested in the games.

By the time we left sometime during the NE game I was snookered and when we got to the hotel (our house is occupado), the clock said about 9:50 which seemed early to go to bed, but we had been up since before 4 a.m. and drinking since 6. Come to find out this morning that the clock was wrong and we really went to bed around 7:30. :bag:

I have this buddy that's a semiprofessional drunk and he used to tell me that if you were still drinking at 10 pm on game day you either didnt start early enough or werent drinking hard enough.

Morning all. It is a good day for football watching.
:goodposting: Already stuck a brisket in the oven and whipped up a delicious Sesame Pasta Salad. If I can avoid a trip to the in-laws' to watch football today (FIL has already called to invite us), I will consider this whole day a victory.

Nice. Leftover chicken bog for lunch and a nice garlic parmesan orange roughy for dinner.

Ok... so here's the official recap of my night.

We had arranged to meet up for dinner at a trendy local gourmet pizza place (we had the figjam and prosciutto for those that care). We get there around the same time and who is there at a table by the door? Yeah, her sister and her sister's fiancé. I guess her family doesn't approve of her dating before her divorce is final. Oops. They were very cordial and didn't make it awkward which was nice. In fact, when they left, her sister came up and said goodbye and told me she'd see me soon

Conversation was good, flirty, fun, etc. After a couple of drinks and a pizza, we head to the concert -

. It was in a townie bar on the west side of town and the part of the bar where the concert was held maybe 70 people. It was pretty packed since we got there like 5 minutes before it started but somehow managed to find 2 seats in the second row. Perfect. The music was good and the people watching was epic. There was a dude in front of us that was probably in his mid to late 30's that was hammered. Part way through the show he's lip locked with a drunken, horny 50 something year old. At one point they start dancing in front of the band. Literally, in front of the band. The band stopped playing and asked the crowd if they would like to watch these two keep dancing, a couple cheers. Then they asked if we'd like to see them dancing outside instead. The place erupted in cheers and the drunken mistake that was their night spilled into the streets never to be seen or heard from again

The show lets out around 2a and she's ####faced. I was pacing myself because I knew one way or the other I was making the 45 min trek up to her house. At this point I know that we're leaving her car there and I'll have to bring her back in the morning - no easy, early-morning escape, but a small price to pay for what lied ahead.

partially documented in the drunk thread: Knuckles tried to get dropped off at my house around 2 a.m. last night. I was drunk, on vicodin and my knee hurt too much to walk downstairs, so I ignored the doorbell ringing for about 10 minutes and went back to sleep.

Did you find out who the mystery text was from?

she falls asleep on the way home. No biggie, might as well get her beauty sleep while she can. It's nearly 3am by the time we get there and I wake her up and we head in to her place (my place was about a half hour closer, but still contains one ex-gf, so is off limits for now). We start settling in and disrobing and she informed me that she started yesterday. So, I do what any self respecting GMTANer would do (I hope :bag: ), I tell her to go get a towel. Once she's back and we're getting down to business, I remember my quest last time of getting pictures being less than successful. I bust out my phone and grab a couple pics but then come to the realization that I would rather be an active participant than photographer and I'm testing the limits of her flexibility, which appear to be quite impressive.

At one point she ends up on top of me and I can't help but take my camera back out. I snap a picture and then somehow my finger must of slipped or something because it turned into video mode. :excited: so yeah, there's that. Most of the pics are blurry and one of the videos ends up having a bit more um, for lack of a better descriptor, wetness to the sound than I'd like to share, but suffice to say those shall remain treasured possessions of mine fore quite some time.

We woke up this morning a little tired from lack of sleep, played a quick game of pin the tail on the donkey and layed around in bed for a while before leaving to grab breakfast and drop her off at her car.

Very likely that I'll see her again at some point this week. I'm going to have to start trying to work some shtick into my pictures or something to keep things interesting

the only pic I took that won't get me banned

 Sometimes, it's a burden being right all the time.

How did you know it was her? Did she stick her whole hand through the mailslot?

Got some really good clearance wine values at World Market today:Eroica - Ch. Saint Michelle, Washington State. This is a joint wine project by ChStM and Dr. Losen, from Germany- one of the world preeminent Riesling winemakers. THis example is a truly admirable wine- keeping the Riesling character, but infusing new world complexity of fruit and minerality without the austerity of many old world premium Rieslings. Year in and year out, this is always one of my favorites- it goes great with fish or chicken or by itself. Normally runs about 20/bottle and is a good value there, but it was 10/bottle at WM yesterday. I will visit all there stores within 20 miles Sat and buy all they have.Bridgeview Gewurztraminer - nice and crisp wurtz- fantastic paired with spicy food- there is probably no better choice for Thai or spicy Japanese or even Mexican. This wine is made in Southern OR and a fine example of the varietal At $5 a bottle, buy everything on the shelf. It will keep for years.
:goodposting:Gracias
Last night I tried he another wines I got at WM, a Fume Blancby Barnard Griffin. BG is a Washington winemaker in Washington's Columbia valley. For a family owned operation they do a commendable job competing with their much better-funded competitors. In general I think Washington state producers consistently turn out the best moderately priced wines in the country- I'm talking the $10-20/bottle range, with no shortage on the lower end. But I digress- the Fume Blanc was nice and crisp with melon and tropical fruit and maybe a hint of oak. Fume Blanc = Suvignon Blanc. The term Fume Blanc was originated by Ferrari Carano in California before Sauv Blanc became popular. They renamed it Fume Blanc to make it sound more "French." It worked really well and has been a mainstay on restaurant wine lists ever since. Wine Enthusiast rated this BG at 91 points, which I think is a little generous, but its still quite a nice wine. If you are a Sauv Blanc fan, you'll find this fruity in the new world style, but none of the grapefruit found in the NZ products, but with flavors, if not the acidity of those found from the Sancerre region.Bottom line- it a great deal at $11-12 reatail, for $5, ist a clear off the shelves and save it for the summer buy.

Hi. Have I missed anything?
:goodposting: I've had nearly 24 hours away from wives, kids, responsibilities, good judgement. :banned: Story at 11? Anybody ever log into their bank to find out just what exactly they did the night before? Homer? Stu? Anyone?
Nope. I can handle my booze. ;)
:goodposting: About every 3rd time the wife and I go out she'll say something like "Oh crap! I think we forgot to close-out our tab!" I always have to reassure her with "Nope, did it right before we left." or something similar.
