Had 2 "Holy ####, I'm getting old" moments on Thursday night (for the record, I'm 32).
1. A guy in our kickball league (hi Disco Stu) dropped dead of a heart attack playing basketball on Tuesday night. He was 30. I didn't know him, but still...damn.
%. Usually during the game, someone opens up the doors to their vehicle and plays some music. My car was closest, so I put on my "Nothing But A G Thing" station on Pandora and opened all the doors. A few minutes later, I glanced over and realized I was wondering if Notorious B.I.G. ever had the vision of his tunes being blasted by a 32 year old white guy on a Thursday night in an SUV with 2 car seats?

Just had one myself.I was at the market a couple hours ago. And I had to buy readers so I could see the prices of booze I was buying. I am up to 2.50. The max they had was 3.00. I was at like 1.25 is all, only a year ago or so. And before all this (40) I never needed glasses, period. I came to terms with getting older, but what in the muthrfuk is going on with the speed of it? An employee heard me mumbling (guess that's started too) and asked if he could help. I tell him I am basically going blind and ask him what I'm supposed to do in 10 years? He couldn't think of one thing to say.
Then I went and bought a case of Pacifico, a bottle of vodka, and a bottle of red. No guests are planned, btw. I should've got Metamucil too.

Some hair loss, never a knee issue previously but have one now, shoulders which feel like rocks are rattling around inside, cholesterol medication, weight loss which takes serious effort these days, parents who are starting to resemble grandparents, hair growth in non hair growth areas... coming to grips with this crap at 35 and the realization I'm at the age where I should ask a doctor to finger my non-broken ###.Just had one myself.I was at the market a couple hours ago. My parents are grandparents, but this one bothers me a bit. My dad's 63 and he's starting to sound less like himself and more like an old man when we talk on the phone.

My old man will be 71 this year. He's been moving a lot slower in the last 10 years and just went in last week for yet another heart problem. Getting old sucks, but it seems even worse to watch it happen.

Coaching first hoops game tomorrow. This is going to be a poop show. Refs are going to call stuff and the rim is now 10 feet. Oh, and I just NOW learned what a 'pick and roll' looks like. This has abject failure written all over it.

Good luck!I coached my brothers 4th and 5th grade team about twenty years ago. Third game of the season, I got double teed up and run from the game for arguing and pulling a Bobby Knight, stomping my feet on the floor. Not my finest moment, but it's funny now.Good timesLet's go OVER 94.5 for now.

I recently re-connected with this gal on facebook. She's a couple years younger than me. We lifeguarded and taught swim lessons together at the DCC in the early/mid 90s. Gorgeous then and a classic beauty now, IMO. Went to Northwestern and Stanford grad...had an internet company of her own before anybody had one of those. I remember her explaining the internet to me over smokes and beers. She and I were GREAT friends during summers, but we always had SO's in college (Chicago for her, Miss for me) and so just....hung out. Now don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have gotten physical, but I always feared making a move and ruining the friendship. I really did like her and was okay not sealing the deal...I was doing just fine absent her, but boy...she sure would have been a nice feather in the cap. Highly successful today, triplets, trophy husband. Way way way WAY out of my league. But cool to be have been her close friend and reconnect later in life.

Remember when Zooks was hemming and hawing about whether to go for the 22 year old, and I berated him about my own twentysomething troubles? This was the troubles. Double Jeopardy: in two weeks we'll be attending the same university together. Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony.

YSR, I'm very, very sorry to hear about the job. :(Also, I started the "post a pic of a hot friend" two days ago and feel like I've established a good precedent. That said, I have to slow my roll since most of my friends are more in the crazy Republican non-hot vein.
