GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

GM, for some reason, I feel like you were into her. Apologies if it was someone else, but you can all enjoy just the same.

:lmao:

My "Today in History" today is about Garry Kasparov playing the "Deep Blue" IBM computer in chess (kids like technology crap like this).

I just wrote on the board "Feb. 10, 1996: Kasparov loses to Deep Blue."

I asked each class "Anyone know what this is about?" A couple of kids had some good guesses and one even knew who Kasparov was.

This period a girl raises her hand and says "Was it about a guy who tried to wrestle a whale?"
:lmao: I hope you say yes to stuff like this. Sort of like this.
Not in this case. I have before though. In response to seeing a painting from the 1700s that had a dog in it this kid asked me "They had dogs back then?"

Me: No

Kid: But there's a dog in that painting.

Me: Oh, yeah. You're right. There is a dog in the painting.

Kid: So they had dogs way back then?

Me: No

Kid: I don't get it. If they didn't have dogs back then why is it in the painting?

Me: Actually that might just be a big cat. Yep, that's a cat.

Kid:

Me: Now that I think about it the first dog wasn't invented until the 1920s. So that must be a cat.

Kid:

Me: Tyler? I'm kidding. Of course they had dogs back then. If they didn't have dogs 300 years ago how would there be one in a painting from back then?

Kid: Ohhhh yeahhh.

Me: My work here is done.
So bad. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ron Meyer? You sick, sick puppy.
:lmao: Well, earlier we were talking about how people in this thread look like football players/athletes and I remember watching ESPN's "30 for 30" on SMU (Pony Excess) and when I saw and heard Ron Meyer being interviewd I nearly spit out my beer. Has the same mannerisms and speech as our good buddy Jeep. So I was going to include jplvr = Ron Meyer, but the images I saw look nothing like Jeep, so I was probably drunk when I watched that show.

My wife broiled some fish last week for dinner. Well apparently she didn't realize that you're supposed to put a tray underneath to catch the grease/drippings/etc. Turned on the oven tonight to put in a pizza and 5 minutes later my house is filled with fish-smelling smoke. :wall:

Yeah that wasn't exactly professional. I hold back on the sarcasm 97% of the time. Sometimes though I just can't do it.

FTR Mrs. SLB that it is gross when my dangling junk touches the sink when shaving after getting out of the shower. Ruling?
As long as you're not shaving in the kitchen, you're fine.
It's my house. BTW, that comment was made on Tuesday. I've been a lot less grouchy than I am most February's but I'm also more of a dickmitten. Possible due to the fact I've been working an insane amount of hours. Anyhoo, she gave me the secret wife signal that sex would be acceptable the last two nights and I ignored the 3rd base coach and opted for sleep. This morning while the kids were eating breakfast, she called me into the bedroom to see something. She told me she was feeling "some sort of pain" on her secret garden and asked me to check it out. It has been an overcast day and the lighting in our room is sort of poor, so I grabbed this out of the nightstand, which caused her some alarm, and went to check things out. I got several inches away from her lady parts, said I don't see anything, then went for my morning walk. I'm holding out until she begs me for it.
Damn, you almost Malice Green'd her?

You guys hear that HBO acquired the rights to the A Song of Ice and Fire series?
I've seen this thread for years and I have no clue what it means. Guess I could open it. Or somebody could tell me what it means.
:goodposting: :goodposting:
I've never read any real fantasy stuff before, figured it was a bunch of nerdy crap. These novels are some of my favorites of all time, and the TV show was awesome.
great, now I'm going to have to read them on that recommendation.

Yeah, they're pretty good. Some kind of redundant themes if you read a lot, but all in all, it's good stuff.

Yes, look at you, you read a ####load. Let's not pass up the opportunity to point that out.

:lmao: No, she used one of these, but without the pan underneath. So we got tiliapa juice all over the bottom of the oven, which apparently was just sitting there until tonight and finally burned off. House still stinks

I'm about 20% through "Tuesdays With Murry". I was told it would take me a day to read it. It's been over 3 weeks. :bag:

corliss williamson made me lol
Let's not overlook that "amazon" entry.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I want to know how the seafood was at Restobar.
:lmao: We took my 9 year old there for his birthday. In Novemeber. I promised the chef we'd write a glowing review. Finally got around to it today after Trip Advisor promised to give me a merrit badge for writing 3 total reviews. :bag:

Did you have an omlette? And what does it have to do with Corliss Williamson

lolz...I decided to write another review for the Best Western we stayed at that night in Florence, OR. Also in November. They over charged me $80. Most people I'm sure would have said something right away to the management, but I prefer to wait a few months and then neg the whole hotel publicly.

Anyhow, the hotel had a free breakfast in the morning that included a lady making omlettes. She was delightful. June was her name. Reminded me of my mother, only a little dumber and not as fat. She was very sweet and I promised I'd write a review when she asked me if I'd do that for her.

And the point I'm crawling towards is that I have no idea how to spell the word omlet, so I googled it. Don't want to have any mispellings in my tripadvisor reviews.

Oh, and Corliss Williamson...I got a tweet today from a guy I follow that wrote an article on Big Nasty. He was always one of my favorite players and now he coaches at Central Arkansas. Good read if anybody cares. From SI.

I was hoping you'd say that June make you an omlet that she called the "Big Nasty"

Zooks, Thorn, others in the greater Boston area...

Some friends and I are planning on driving from Cincinnati to Boston for St. Patrick's Day

Any spots better than others for drinking then or is every place pretty much full of drunks?

We'll probably get in town on Friday afternoon and leave sometime Sunday late morning

Any interest in meeting up for drinks either Friday night or joining us out drinking on St. Patrick's?

If we wanted to dial it up a notch, I could probably swing by and pick up Homer or Crazy Canuck... not enough room in the car for both and it would take too much time.

This is funny. I'll be heading toward Pittsburgh the same weekend. So if you're driving along NYS route 17 (sometimes called Interstate 86), and you see a black Jetta driven by a handsome unshaved guy in a Shetland wool "newsboy" cap who paradoxically doesn't look like a hipster, honk and wave.

Ha! Unless Homer wants in (I'm assuming the guy that works at a bar will probably be working on St Patrick's), we probably will be going on i86. I'll keep an eye open

So, I'm supposed to talk with a girl later (after I drop my daughter off at her mom's) that messaged me from an online dating site. In a very odd twist, she's actually a couple years older than me. I'm not against dating girls older than me, but for whatever reason I typically end up younger. In some of her pictures she looks smoking hot. Others you can see a bit of age coming through. But she's 5'5" and has a tight body with some good curves. Plus some of her pics look pretty silly, so I think once she's comfortable, she would be a ton of fun. (My link)

Oh, and thanks to CC's FB work, I heard from Tuesday girl again. it looks like I'll be seeing her again sometime soon-ish. She seems pretty fun and we've got a fair amount in common, so conversation is easy. I need to make sure that she doesn't get too attached and realizes that I'm just looking for some fun. I think she understands that now, but could see it becoming an issue if I see her too often. the first date was pretty fun and random and I still have her belt at my place. I think the $ move here is to forget to bring the belt to the next date so she has to come back to get it. (Stripes)

And then there is dumb girl. I've been chatting with her a bit but our schedules haven't matched up yet. She says she doesn't put out until the 5th date, which will probably be above my tolerance to handle her inane babble (omg, don't make fun of me bcuz I like the kardashians). But she also seems like she has a fun side that could make for some interesting dates. My goal here is to go out on a date with her where she picks me up and pays for dinner. I had set up a date with her once and texted to cancel because I felt like going out with my friends instead because I had a crazy day (last sat when I moved the ex out). She ended up being the one that was all apologetic because she was sorry I had a rough day, etc. (She's quite tall)

Mr. krista, literary snob, liked those novels y'all were talking about, too. I've relentlessly made fun of him for that.

Guster, what happened to the furniture model? I know she was certifiable, but seems like it just suddenly fizzled?

Yeah, i was hanging out with her one day and we had been texting daily and then all of a sudden I didn't hear from her for days. I texted to see if I'd get to see her again and her reply was "idk"I'll shoot her another message at some point to see if I can work in another rendezvous but I'm assuming we've heard the last from her

Hey Bob. It's February 11. No GND for January poll?
I know. I'm really busy this time of year. I'll get around to it next week.

I think the $ move would be to UPS it back to her fashioned into a noose. Yikes.

:bye: Thanks. I've just been working constantly and am very boring right now, so not posting. My excitement for the week was getting new carpet in our master bedroom closets (and no, we don't have drapes, so don't ask).Today I'm trying to figure out how to uninvite someone from joining my vacation. I made the mistake of posting that I have to go to Singapore, and did anyone want to tag along and go there and someplace else Asianed with me. A friend who I do NOT want to travel with is now all over this. I can't really tell her I'm no longer going since it will be obvious when I do go. But there's no way I want her to go. :(
