GM's thread about nothing (38 Viewers)

I am invited to a bachelorette party for one of my good college friends and the house that is being rented is $1895/night. There are 15 of us invited, but still. :jawdrop:

I am currently accepting sponsorships.
Is the house on a hill with an infinity pool? That's still a lot of money when you include the food, drinks, man-hoors, and heroin.
This is the house. But yes, factor in airfare to Palm Springs and booze and it's a little  for this fiscally conservative gal.
Wow. Nice. Whose idea was it to have a bachelorette party in one of the gayest cities in America?
Her cousin. Not really sure what the reasoning is, but it was either Palm Springs or Scottsdale. Almost all the attendees are married, so it will mostly be vodka and wine and dance parties. Just an excuse for a girls' weekend, really. we'll be recruiting young Mexican men like Santa Anna.
:lmao:

would you rather your bartender be a robot (perfect drinks no personality)

or a monkey (less then perfect drinks, personality to spare)

Nevermind...as soon as i posted that i realized the urine content of the monkey drinks is probably a deal breaker for most.

I was thinking of a macaque because they seem pretty mellow My link/Or maybe one of these because bartending has to be a step up. Plus they probably have some great stories to tell.

in a swim up bar the macaque is clearly the right choice

Space-case student after hearing we're going to watch a video on Harriet Tubman.

Kid: Didn't she hide kids in the back of car?

Me: What? No.

Kid: Was it on a bus?

Me: Watch the video.

Kid: I thought she was the one on the bus...

Me: I know you were absent yesterday when we went over the sheet that had the questions about Harriet Tubman on them but you did the sheet the day before right?

Kid: Yeah

Me: Let me see it.

Kid hands it over. He answered two very specific questions about Harriet Tubman correctly with answers right from the book.

Me: Yesterday you wrote "Harriet Tubman was a former slave that was a 'conductor' on the Underground Railroad (etc)"

Kid: Yeah.

Me: So what's this stuff about her being in a car or a bus?

Kid: I thought the book might have been wrong.

Kid is 100% serious. One of the spaciest kids I've ever had.

anyone want to weigh in on a dumb argument?

if you were to take live maine lobster and put it in puget sound, what is the likelihood it would survive for any significant period of time? if you say it would die, what do you believe would kill it?

In the Sound, the water is shallow enough that I think it would be fine.

Package received from Guster. A little slice of Cinncy just made its way to SE Michigan:

[*]One container of Procter and Gamble dishwasher tablets

[*]One can of Skyline Chili

[*]One bottle of Montgomery Inn sauce

[*]One can of Loko lemonade flavor

Guster is the best.
:goodposting: got the same thing. I'll save the Four Loko for a special occasion.

Muchos Gracias.

There are two people with outstanding twitter requests. If you're one of them, PM me to let me know so I can add you.

Thanks, shuke. Why were you banned?

So sometime last night, while doing some heavy drinking with some friends, the wife and I agreed that we would meet up with them again tonight. I just spent all day trying to fool my body into thinking that I didn't try to destroy it last night. We're going to this old-school bar. I'm probably going to look like a huge wuss drinking like 3 waters for every beer.

lofl at WVU students going berserk and trying to charge Buzz Williams for "two-stepping" to their theme song after a close Marquette win

My little sister called last night, she wanted to talk to Cal. I think the last time she saw Cal was when he was 3.

Oh yeah, her new "boyfriend" is this guy. I wish Radical Larry was here. :kicksrock: Brong<hi

ETA

I think he is the grandnephew of John McCain.
While he hasn't provided stories yet, it sounds like you can probably add gm's liver to your sig
Man, I don't even know where to start. If I do, it's going to be a LOT to type out. And I don't excel at editing. But there were some absolute uproarious (sp?) (is that even a word?) moments and my sides hurt so much from laughing that I have to seek out some serious business type of folks for the next few days. Oh, and jesus is punishing me now....we're having a girl. Can anybody teach me how to use a shotgun?
I'm hopelessly behind, but congrats GBGM!

I've been pretty blasé about the whole baby thing so far. I didn't want to get too emotionally invested. I went through one miscarriage with an ex (albeit unknown). My wife's sister had 2 miscarriages in the first 10 weeks. One of my sisters had 2 miscarriages, and another can't even have children. But today we had the 12 week appointment and heard the heartbeat for the first time, so this was a minor victory for us. It got dusty in that room.

We've made it public now. Past "congrats" are already acknowledged. Thanks

I like CDs still - my car doesn't have an i-pod hookup so I still listen to them daily.

Awesome thing, hearing the heartbeat for the first time.
