GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Proninja, sorry in advance for the political arguments on your FB page.
She's an older lady who's always been really nice to me who I think is completely crazy in her super-republican beliefs. Disagree with her all you want, just be nice. I don't know when I turned into political ######## on facebook, but I feel like all I ever do on there is yell at dumb Republicans.

Alright, I need help.

Never been to Vegas. Tomorrow I arrive with wife and two daughters. I have approx. 3-4 hrs to kill on the strip before I need to be at Manianno's at 5:30. After that, off to Henderson, NV for the weekend. WHAT can i do with the wife and kids for 3 to 4 hours on the Strip tomorrow. 50/50 chance that I can point them in a direction then take off in a different direction. I'll have to play that by ear. Also, if I do break out of Shawshank, what can I do as a first timer?

What say ye?
wellyou may want to warn them about all the porn fliers....
:goodposting: I had that snap,snap,snap in my head for weeks after my first trip out there.
First time I heard this I was drunk and grabbed a bunch of discarded fliers and stood next to a guy, imitating him. My friends started laughing, then one buddy says, "hey Jeff, I think you're making him mad."

"Who cares. He's an annoying peddler of bad porn. I could step on his throat in front of a police station and only hear applause." (or something like that)

Amazingly, the guy didn't miss a single beat snapping his fliers. He just kept peddling his smut. Those guys are dedicated.

Would it count as BIG GOVERNMENT if they outlawed those guys? It'd make the strip so much better.

Homer wants to regulate the porn industry? WHAT THE #### IS GOING ON HERE?!?

Internet problems for the last 24+ hours. Good thing I have card-counting software on my PC, or I might not have made it. Happy Birthday/Congrats/Gee, that sucks as appropriate.

Kellen's story is one of the cooler things I've read on here in a while. :thumbup:
They lost 78-70 against a 5th grade all girl's team that has played together since 3rd grade. Those girls missed only 1 of 16 questions asked and the one they missed they only missed 2 points out of 5 (partial credit available). 80 is the most you can get if you answer all 16 right. Then, you can steal from the other team when they whiff, so conceivably you could score more than 80 if your opponent kept missing.Kellen's team missed only 2 of 16 and the ones they missed the other team failed to answer, so they were tough questions for sure. I don't think the 5th graders expected a close match; I don't think anybody did. The library was pretty crammed. My mother was there. We got Cooper out of class to watch it. He was just happy to miss spelling. He even had to ask me who won when it was over. Thanks for coming, MaGoo. :rolleyes: 5th Graders go on to regionals. They'll represent very well. Cool deal for sure.

:thumbup: You're good people and it's cool hearing stories like the. Before you know it, we'll be talking about the boys graduating high school and which college they're going to. Youre a great dad and I look forward to more stories in the future!!

I appreciate it, GB. Course, by the time they graduate, I'll have another group of elementary kid stories to share on page 14,566. FML.

Is there anybody else left here who doesn't play WW?
No chance I'll ever play.
:hifive: Pro-Tip: When the zombie apocolypse is upon us all, stand behind me and Rude. :thumbup:
Lotsa :nerd: in there. The Studs theme made it pretty interesting and fun though. Not sure I'll play again but I could see it happening depending on the theme. It was definitely worth getting my feet wet :shrug:
oy, make the texts stop please. blackberry just isn't kind to them rolling in 50 at a time.
:goodposting: Except the blackberry thing.

Just like Daddy ;)
If anyone craves homoerotic dialogue, I highly recommend a Words with Friends game or ten with Homer.

OK, after finally watching the videos from tonight's round of texts, I officially rescind any and all reservations regarding the mass texts.

Awesomeness.

Weird B&M friend question...this might be kind of long...

A GB of mine had surgery on his teeth about 3 years ago. He was pretty standoffish about it and almost never smiled afterwards because he was embarrassed about it. Not that he had bad teeth or anything but when we did catch him laughing, he had new teeth and they looked great. We are guessing that it was something deeper than just the surface of his teeth, but whatever.

Fast forward to last March. He said he had to undergo some more surgery and would be out of commission for a while (but never said anything about his teeth/mouth). It got postponed twice and long story short he couldn't make my wedding. No problem, he sent a card stating as such and we completely understood. He did tell us that he would be out of work for at least 6 weeks.

Fast forward to now and none of our group of friends have seen him in almost a year. When we would contact him his only response would be "I can't/won't come out right now". He wouldn't accept invites to come out nor would he allow any home visits (single 36 year old man) He went to Brewer, Packers and Bucks games by himself (and posted pictures on FB), he wouldn't offer any insight as to what was going on. 95% of our "clique" have been friends since grade school. We're a pretty tight-knit group.

His name is Chris. Often we would joke that he would come back to us as Christina, since he was hiding so much. Well, a few GBs were bowling tonight so I went to join them and watch Marquette #### the bed. Halfway through bowling Chris showed up.

He looked the same and everyone was saying "Holy ####! How have you been?! We haven't seen you in almost a year" All he offered was "I've been away"

I didn't press and just asked how he had been doing. I figure that if he wants to tell me/us something, he will. He had 2 beers and called it a night and said "I've got to get back into drinking shape"

I'm not sure what I'm asking, but has anyone ever dealt with a close friend that dropped off the face of the earth for medical reasons, only to show up and not mention anything? This guy does not do drugs, he does not date at all (men or women), doesn't do anything that would be cause for concern, and doesn't live a lifestyle that would lead to a year+ long procedure....I just don't know. I don't want to violate his privacy, yet I'm concerned for my friend.

SOrry for serious-ing up the thread again

as with almost everything, the answer here is booze. get him drunk, he'll tell you what happened.

Trying to get through the next 30 days with these guidelines:

[1] No booze;

[ii] No smokes;

[c] No going to bars;

[-] No twentysomethings;

[*]4 days of exercise a week.

I think my body is going to go into shock. There's also the possibility I'll bore myself to death. Flying HJS in to knock some sense into me is an option as well.

I could do "no smokes" but then again I don't smoke anymore. My wife is 28 so that doesn't count.I'd lose it after #1

I'm curious to gear how Dr Detroit is feeling today.

:popcorn:

I'm pretty sure if I were counting beers, Tre could beat me having liquor to my beer

That is a recipe for disaster. Pick one or two at the most.

really?I looked at it for about a minute yesterday trying to find any good Marvin shtick after he said he started playing. Went in today for about 5 seconds and saw two posts that made no sense.was more curious about the S&D shtick than the WW shtick.

slb, could be a ton of things. I don't want to assume the worst here, but it could be depression, a serious illness, or something else where he felt maybe that he was in no shape to be around others.Just offer him up a "Hey, it was great seeing you again the other night. If you ever need to talk, grab a beer, chase some tail, whatever, let me know and I'm here for you"If he reaches out, he reaches out. If not, not much you can do about it.You'll notice that as you get older, people grow apart and change. There are married friends, and non-married friends. Friends with children, friends without children. You kind of have to alter your plans as to the types of friends you're hanging out with, and once childhood buddies will drift apart as lives change. I could go on and on about my younger friends (whom I still keep in touch with), but how everyone has drifted apart. Friends that live 5 miles from one another don't see each other but every few years. Just happens.

Most of us won't judge you for being bi-curious.
