For the last 30 years or so I've had nightmares about being in the infantry during WWII. It isn't recurring exactly because it is never the same dream but there is always heavy combat involved and is horrifying.

Thoughts?

Well that was weird...

Stopped at Duane Reade on the way home...One register open, two people ahead of me...standing there with my headphones on, about 2 feet behind the guy in front of me...I sort of notice he seems skittish and makes a concerted effort to step out of the line and to the side by the register...He steps up to the register, and I step up behind him, again about 2-3 feet...All of a sudden he wheels around and takes an aggressive step towards me with his finger extended...I take off my headphones and he says in a out of control way "I need you to move back...You are too close to me...I have a gun...I need you to be 5 feet back!" I look around for a security guard and am admittedly a bit unsure what to do...He resumes his transaction and as he walks away makes it a point to shoulder into me as he walks out...Dude had the crazy eyes flying...I decided the course of least resistance was not engaging him...I pay for my items and walk to the exit...I have to say, I was VERY disconcerted and actually looked carefully to make sure I wan't about to get a bullet in the chest as I exited...

Hungover this morning after some beers last night. I really need to get back into fighting shape.

And I really need to get some game. Bar was prime for meeting girls last night. 3 to 4 tables with 2 to 4 girls each. Outside on the patio, perfect weather. Cute girls, but in no way outkicking my coverage. Yet I did nothing. It was pretty pathetic. The table with the sluttiest, drunkest girls ended up being joined by a guy older than Tanner who made conversation and downed shots the rest of the evening. FML.

They filmed that at the local Irish Heritage Society. I dropped my son off that day. I thought they were just going to shoot the band playing on stage or something. If I had known they were going to be boozing it up I would have stayed.

I dig it. They remind me of my ex-student's band. A bunch of kids with lots of energy and talent, but still a couple years off from anything real to say.

It was a really good video I thought. Decent, catchy song. Not perfect, but some potential. I would go see them live.

I had never heard this band before. Another one of his friends is in a ska band. I've heard a couple of songs. They really need to practice a bit more. And by "bit" I mean a lot.

I was formally diagnosed with diabetes today. Surprisingly, he didn't put me on medication right away, but he did write a prescription for a glucometer and diabetes education to learn how to use it. Still haven't decided whether I will eat myself to an early grave or not. I have, however, decided to have a big blast of Jamesons.
