GM's thread about nothing (42 Viewers)

I signed up to be a mentor for the intern program at my job. Doesnt entail a lot of work.. just take them to lunch once or twice during the summer and answer any questions they have.

I figured they would match guys up with guys but i held out hope they would pair me with a 22 yr old hot or at least some decent dude. Nope.

Ive already heard stories about this guy. Like dropping the "I didnt sign up for this ####" when asked to do menial tasks. First couple days apparently he said to some co-workers near him "Is this seriously all you do all day?" and had to be talked to behind closed doors by the manager over that particular group. For Bogart and Stu..he's basically a Chris Chris I guess.

I am about as passive a person as you will ever find. This is not going to end well at all.

Try to turn a negative into a positive. Douchebags usually know a lot of hot chicks.

My stupid baseball team has been up and down all year and barely made the state playoffs. The best part? We got to drive an hour and a half to play the game. We were seeded 16th out of 16 teams.

These dopey kids just beat the #1 seed 5-0. At least we didn't drive three hours to lose. Kids are pumped, I'm going to have a beer :thumbup:

Man life sucks sometimes. One of my best friends told me two weeks ago he and his wife were expecting their second child. She's 32, he's 35. Today he calls me and tells me they found a lump on her breast. They get the results of the biopsy tomorrow. Gutted here. ####.

Thoprawishes, TU. At that age, the odds are pretty decent that it is something benign...but even if it isn't, the fact that it was discovered very early is encouraging. Medicine has come a long way in the treatment of breast cancer, even in the last 10 years, both curative and cosmetic. We've been through it. If it does turn out that it's breast cancer and your buddy has any questions, I'm happy to offer him any of my experience.

:goodposting: my ex-wife went through a similar scare recently (breast cancer, not pregnancy). turned out to be some sort of a cyst, but they didn't figure that out until after the mammogram, xray, mri, maybe something else and then finally a biopsy. all you can do is be there for them and be willing to do whatever they need. GLGB

Back from Austin. Successful business trip. Much more successful Cornhole cherry popped. The hospitality and generosity of cosjobs is pretty much unmatched, but most of you already know that.

For those curious, did not smoke for the first time, work requirements kind of got in the way of that. But that can be made up on the next trip.

Thanks again cosjobs for a great meal and plenty of booze.
