GM's thread about nothing (78 Viewers)

So I've been fighting this killer cold for the last 3 days. School ended at 11am yesterday. But I had to be downtown for the 8th grade graduation at 3pm. I got home after school and felt like total crap. Took whatever cold pills I could find, popped vitamin C drops by the handful, and then took a shower.

Made it to graduation and was feeling pretty good. Midway through I decided to take another couple of Day-Quils or whatever. After grad I met my wife at the wine/beer bar. Not sure if was the cold pills, the cold, the weather (it was over 100 yesterday) or a combination of all three but after 4 pretty solid beers I was toast.

Got home and watched the History Channel's 1st annual History Bee with my 17 year old son. We alternated between calling the kids "homo nerds" when they got something right and "idiots" when they missed one.

 
Oh and today is the Brains competition (I'm not in the footage they show for some unknown reason). Last year I was on the winning team. Some of my teammates were a bit concerned after I made a few trips to the beer line. They shut the hell up after they realized I was getting better the drunker I got.

No idea if I'm going to drink tonight thanks to this cold.

ETA: Team photo from last year. We're called Grey Matter or something...they came up with the name before I joined. I think we should be called Chock Full O' Sexy

lolMy Dad asked if it was alright if me & Mrs. SLB stayed in one of the rooms upstairs at the cabin because the cleaning lady didn't have time to clean the basement yet. I reluctantly agreed. Upon arrival my Mom (the greatest Mom in the entire world) told me she cleaned the basement so we could stay down there. ;) Which was good because she was loud last night.The bad thing is Mrs. SLB forgot her bag of tricks and the closest place is 45 minutes away in Springfield. Pretty sure she is about to make a road trip. :thumbup:

don't know her motivations at this point. she texted two people suicide threats and took a handful of narcotics (not enough to OD and she knows it). she should be getting held for observation right now, but since her job is to evaluate mental health in the ER, she knows what to say to avoid getting detained. best her friends can do is not leave her alone right now.

yep. sad, because things are actually going well...she seemed to have settled down and was actually really fun to be around without any real drama for the last two months right up until the pregnancy scare. but eventually, a real relationship would lead to spending time with my daughter, and I can't allow this chaos and instability into her life. I think she really wanted to have a kid. she got unequivocal proof that she wasn't pregnant yesterday. I think it pushed her over the edge.

Yeah, for some reason the two women the lead the team insist on bringing snacks and water. They sell beer and wine and there is a dinner served as well. :shrug: The seat with the beer/beer cups in front of it is mine.

 
Cool, after missing two collect calls from my little sister she connectedbwith my uncle. Apparenty she moved from Kuai to The Big Island some time ago. That "isn't working out" for her and she wants money for airfare back. Lousy leech.

Kuai. Now Mom has a terrible migraine and she is arguing with my Dad becquse she wants the money sent her way. What a lazy, ungrateful, #####.I just mixed a 24 oz vodka and water. Blow me Bloomberg.
 
Her roommate took her to the hospital early this morning. They've given her a couple IVs and she's doing better. She took too many Tylenol and codeines, but not enough to kill her. She made an appointment with a therapist for Monday.

So sorry, GB. Glad she's OK. Hope there's no liver issues from the Tylenol. :(
 
Just got back from my niece's HS graduation. It was Homertastic, to say the least.

They're throwing a party for her tonight. At The Church of the Nazarene.

My son's graduation was Wednesday. The school he goes to is pretty ethnically diverse. I'd say that 75% of the girls were wearing 'stripper shoes'. Every kid had to walk up and down this slight ramp. My wife and sister and I entertained ourselves by watching the girls try to negotiate the ramp in their heels. My wife put it best when she said there were three types of girls in heels:1. The ones that were a bit unsteady but did OK. "My mom showed me how to walk in these yesterday. Slow and steady."2. The ones that looked like they were pros. "I got this ####. Outta my way, girl."3. The ones that looked like drunken, baby deer. "Easy, easy, ok, ok, I think I got...Ohhhh shiiiiit..."

Fish, I hope your friend Knuckles gets the help she needs. Her life sounds very tragic, sad and lonely. Let's hope this is her bottom...(I'm going to leave out a knuckles joke here).

SLB, do you ever sit back and wonder just how the holy hell you can be blood related to your sister? Yeah, me too.

Tanner, why did you sign up to play with the Southern Baptist team? If there's a beer line at the quiz bowl, shouldn't it be utilized to buy beer? Was the AA team full? Didn't want to play with the Amish? I think we should form our own Quiz Bowl team and meet in Bakersfield next year for the big event. I will absolutely dominate southern reconstruction politics and horse racing.

My wife is napping next to me. I played all videos with sound off. Can't wait to go back and rewatch them when nobody in family can hear them. :lmao:

 
Thanks to all. Knuckles has been a great character for stories here, but she's also very sweet and pretty mixed up. Nobody saw this coming. She's out of the hospital and home sleeping. I'll be around for her short term to help her get through this, but we have to be done now. She knows it too.

Oh. and I have a first date in an hour with a woman named Sunshine.

I sent it to TRE anyway. It's her ####ed up ankle, then i pan up and we get some thigh, and then i try to film both of us but only get her somehow and then turn it off before anyone takes a shot. Actually it's probably pretty good.

Man, I was playing stupid poker all night and I missed all of these great shot videos. FML. Good job everyone...even PeeJay!
 
Don't act like you're not impressed.

Highlight of the evening: They introduce our team as the winners. I didn't join until last year but I guess this same team won 3 or 4 times out of the last 7. The organizer/MC/head soccer coach introduced us as "the team you love to hate" (or whatever a British accent sounds like). Then they gave us a bunch of undersized t-shirts...that's what happens when a bunch of 19 year old soccer players orders shirts.

Oh yeah...the highlight. After our team leader introduced us individually there was a very weak smattering of applause and then silence. I took the opportunity to yell at the top of my voice while doing this:

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?
