GM's thread about nothing (37 Viewers)

Went to lunch yesterday with an old friend (meaning I've been friends with her for long time, she's not old like Tanner) As I leave and get into my car I get a call from the 23 YO who was driving by in the same plaza I was in and she says that she saw me walking to my car and that she was going into Staples to get something and asked me if I wanted to go in and chat while she shopped.
Dump her.
Am I the only one that has no idea what just happened with Imp?
No, I'll take a PM.

2 hours at the Louisville Slugger museum and I'm the one that had to suggest we leave. I'd say it was a success

About to leave and check in to the hotel and go for a little swim before dinner and then probably a second swim. For those that follow me on Facebook, I did end up buying my daughter a mask and snorkel for bath time, so I'm sure those will be in heavy rotation today too

<---- needs tips on how to get a park & fly package for 1 night at a hotel near O'Hare.. for less than 125 ####ing dollars. i'll be spending enough money on vacation. don't really feel like dropping that kinda money for 5 hours of sleeping at a hotel.

priceline is great. don't really want to get a hotel w/o the park & fly package or 24 hour shuttle though.

Got into a wreck this morning. Ran into a Jeep with a spare tire on the back. Barely messed with the jeep. Buckled my hood and drove the front bumper pretty deep. Looks horrible for a 5 mph impact.

Almost totalled my car last fall in a similar accident. 5 mph, got up under a Land Rover :wall:Hope you're ok!

Steak and turkey taste better if they rest. I like burgers and chicken better when they don't.

Unless this is a euphamism. If I've gone a few days without, then I probably need half an hour, but would prefer an hour or more, or the cooking time goes way up and it wont be as juicy. If you cook at low heat, the meat will be raw and eventually will start imagining your hottest friend. If youre worried about tenderness, the taste test is your best bet.

Princess/Fairy tea party for the girls, poker tournament for daddy, as it should be. GB not having to go to the former.

I'm good, thanks, just pissed. This along with the ticket this week, I'm having a banner week.Guess it could be worse, I could have had a date with a unemployed felon this afternoon.

Last post. Anyone who has ever had issue with me has had no issue standing up to me, the one who PMd Miss went over the the line. No need to mention names because I know you all protect each other and ignore anything I say. It wasn't me you hurt. You hurt a girl who didn't deserve it.
Man, I hate it when I miss stuff.

Has the FFA come to a conclusion on whether meat needs to rest or not?
Of course it does, though I can't say I speak for the FFA. Is there some controversy about this?
I waded into a grilling thread last summer and I remember some saying it was a myth. Those grilling threads frighten me, and I knew I would get a better, quicker answer here. :thanks:
A little science on it.
Looks like a decent website. Thanks!

I saw Brave tonight with my daughter. It's not anything like what the commercials make you think it is. Still good, but I was hoping for more.

The good thing about missing an Imp Meltdown is that another one will be coming along in a few months.

Got drunk texted in the middle of the night by FWB. I'm expecting the the pics will start flowing again shortly. She sent one pic that she had on her phone but was out with friends so couldn't/didn't take anything more salacious. I'd feel badly, but she knows that I send them out and has actually asked what the responses were a couple times

We got the first two episodes of Game of Thrones S1 on Netflix yesterday. We're already hooked, but I'm not sure I even want to go into the thread about it here. I actually think I want to take a break in the videos and read the books. Really good stuff.
Mrs. Flysack (she who refuses to read 50 Shades of Grey :( ) is addicted to the series. I guess they're really good.

The "stupid" part might, MIGHT, depend upon the cost, which I didn't look into. But yeah :bag:
Definitely. If this only cost two carnival ride tickets, I'd start the world's first skyline food fight.
Totally taking my daughter to skyline to finish off awesome daddy weekend
Awesome. BTW if anyone can explain this via PM, my inbox is open -

An old football buddy stopped by last night for a few beers. I bet is has been 15 years since we've really talked. Amazing how that much time can go by and you can just pick right back up like you haven't missed a beat. About 2 am I had to call it a night. Good Lord we drank a lot of beers. Mrs. SLB & Cal got home from camping around 7:30 this morning, saw all of the beer cans and asked me how many people were over last night. I threw a bunch of them in the recycling already too. :bag:

An hour and a half in the swimming pool and three hours at the science museum. Time to head back to Cincy. I'm sure my daughter will nap and be full of energy when we get back

That means you really like the guy. One of my best friends moved to Florida when I was 22. We see each other maybe every 3-4 years or so. Everytime I see him it seems like we have never been apart. We pick right up like I saw him yesterday.

I need some advice. Should I write a letter to my school district director of personnel in support of a colleague?

Background: Our principal jumped ship at the beginning of the school year. We had an interim principal move up from an elementary school. I work in a high school. The previous guy communicated like he was breathing. He wrote long emails constantly, held staff meetings all the time, had committees working on solutions. The new one barely speaks at all. She dictates what she wants and doesn't tell us much of what is going on. She's been using the buddy approach to discipline and has alienated her staff. Anytime we had discipline problems she just tells the students they should do better and sends them back to class. Students got to where they'd say, go ahead, send me to the office. They don't do anything.

Anyway, something happened on the last day the seniors were on campus. Instead of stern warnings to the seniors that they wouldn't walk at graduation if they caused any shinanigans and sending them home after finals, she held a field day class competition. They ended up covering her in shaving cream. And while that was going on in the football field, the cafeteria erupted in a food fight. They finally got ahold of her and told her she'd know what was going on if she turned on her ####### phone.

The following week she called us in to an early meeting and told us all how crappy we were. She said we were apathetic and had checked out ten years ago. She blamed us for all the problems going on. It was all very negative and demoralizing. After ripping us all a new one, she asked if there were any comments or questions. One lady, an older union member who is very involved with student clubs said that she thought the teachers were doing a great job. The principal basically told her to shut it and we were dismissed.

Well, this lady was upset. She talked to some after the meeting and ended up in the office where she said something very regrettable. The office staff overheard her saying she wanted to kill that #####. The sheriff was called. She was put on administrative leave. And they are trying to, if not terminate her job, at least move her to another school.

She is asking for people who attended the meeting to write a letter explaining the tone and mood of the meeting. She said we have to sign the letter, but that the signatures are supposed to be redacted before being passed on to the principal. I'm concerned that they might not be. The boss lady seems dangerous. Anyone who doesn't agree with her, she tries to get rid of. She's been writing people up for silly things. But I feel like I should support this teacher.

What to do?
