GM's thread about nothing (27 Viewers)

If you have 6 months severance take a month and pretend like you're Marvin in June - sleep late, play Call of Duty, make your own pickles, take buses with other senior citizens to Vegas, show your cats to strangers on the internet, and just basically live it up. Then look for a job. That's what I'd do.
:lmao: I don't even eat pickles let alone make them. And for the record there were plenty of 20 and 30-somethings on the Vegas trip.

Can't really argue with anything else. My link
Why wouldn't you eat pickles? They're delicious.
Because I don't find them delicious, Socrates.

Congrats both to Osaurus and Mr. CIA. I think. Not a big downer, but remember how all my lawyers and paralegals were dying a couple of weeks ago? Found out that the potentially dying lawyer does indeed have colon cancer, but at a very early stage that should be quite treatable. So not just echoing SLB's refrain of getting a colonoscopy, but also saying if you have anything going that is kind of hinky please get yourself checked out. She was not due for a colonoscopy as she was well too young for it, but at a sign of trouble got a full suite of tests, and good for her. Colon cancer is eminently treatable if caught early, and unlike many others can be tested for in an early stage.
Good luck to your coworker.Ok ok..... I'll go have a colonoscopy. I know you weren't targeting that at me, but it always feels like it when people bring it up. Probably because I have had dreams that I would someday have colon cancer. I just turned 50 so I guess it's time.
Yep, that's the age when you should start getting them regularly. Please do as there are so many of us that need you to stay healthy and happy!I've had two due to various issues. The prep is a bit miserable but not as bad once you know what you're facing. The scope itself is a complete breeze.
I'm nearing 40, so this is in the cards for me soon. I've been going to the same GP for awhile. He knows me. Knows I like to kid around. So I'm thinking of lightening the mood by asking (in the most straight-faced manner possible) for a referral to a therapist to discuss anticipated issues with my sexuality.

An old college friend has been trying her hand at photography. This led her to go shoot the Coney Island Mermaid Parade (I'm not making this up), where she took this pic.

Warning: not exactly full-on NSFW, but exercise caution.

Note to self:

Asking a bunch of 40-50 yo broads to join you for sex =

Asking a bunch of 20 yo broads to join you for teh sex =

As for Frosty...seems someone really likes his pickles.
Actually regular colonoscopies are no longer recommended.

Colonoscopy reduces cancer rates by preventing some colon cancers on the left side of the colon; these colon polyps and early cancers would have been treated during a safer sigmoidoscopy procedure.[1] Colonoscopy is relatively risky, with 5 in 1000 patients facing serious complications.[30] To prevent one cancer death, 1,250 colonoscopies need to be performed, but perforation of the colon occurs at a rate of about 1 in 1000 procedures.

Since polyps often take 10 to 15 years to transform into cancer, in someone at average risk of colorectal cancer, guidelines recommend 10 years after a normal screening colonoscopy before the next colonoscopy. (This interval does not apply to people at high risk of colorectal cancer, or to those who experience symptoms of colorectal cancer.

An Iowa farmer, in his pickup, drove to a neighbor's, and knocked at the door.

A boy, about 9, opened the door.

"Is your Dad home?"

"No sir, he isn't; he went to town."

"Well, is your Mother here?"

"No sir, she went to town with Dad."

"How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"

"No sir, He went with Mom and Dad."

The rancher stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other, and mumbling to himself.

"Is there anything I can do for you? I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one,

or I can give dad a message."

"Well," said the rancher uncomfortably, "I really wanted to talk to your Dad.

It's about your brother Howard getting my daughter, Suzie, pregnant."'

The boy thought for a moment. "You would have to talk to Dad about that.

I know he charges $500 for the bull and $50 for the hog,

but I don't know how much he charges for Howard."

Nearly $250 at our garage sale today. :bowtie:

My near term goal: Park ONE of our vehicles inside the spacious two-car garage. Getting a lot closer after getting rid of a pool table that's been used as a storage table for the last 9 years. Sold it to a very nice Philippino (sp?) family who wanted it for their 5 sons. After loading it into their SUV, the dad and two of his sons couldn't fit and were going to walk to the bus station. I gave them a ride. Cool folks. Dad didn't speak much English, but his two sons (14/8) did and were very polite.

Reaquanited myself with all of my old neighbors. It's been awesome getting back over here. Like a homecoming. There's a local TV/Radio broadcaster two houses down (used to do the play by play for Beavers) - he stopped by for 30 minutes as we caught up. Cool dude. Funny to see their kids all grown up now, out of college and thriving. I remember them as awkward HS students and younger.

Thatched (sp?) my front yard while I sold stuff. Dead man tonight. Off to take care of my parent's special needs dog as they enjoy a weekend at Emerald Downs betting on ponies.

Blah blah blah....blah

I'm drinking a raspberry wheat beer I made. Bottled it a little less than a week ago, so it's light on carbonation, but I'm really happy with it.

Think about these for your garage. I have them in my 2 car garage and store everything on the walls and park both cars with no problem

Somebody posted something like this a couple of years ago. So simple it's freaking brilliant.http://zedomax.com/blog/2010/07/30/garage-diy-how-to-make-a-diy-overhead-storage-rack/

Somehow got bumped to first class on my 7 am flight from Seattle to Denver. Since I actually haven't been there before I stayed awake the whole time with instructions to the flight attendant to keep screwdrivers coming. I'm now in the denver airport trying to act sober on two hours of sleep.

Ahh, vacation

I thought I was dying yesterday. I was severely over-served on Friday night. I found this receipt in my pocket yesterday morning from the first bar we were at (not as good as a drunk GM receipt) We went to a few other bars after that one. Not really sure what time I got home but I'm pretty sure I didn't sleep much. To go along with a massive hangover, I think I got the flu or something, my entire body ached, I had a fever, dizzy, the shakes, cold sweats and I could barely masturbate. I literally spent about 18 consecutive hours in my bed naked enjoying the air conditioning while also hoping I would die to end my suffering.

Yeah, I thought about those too. Doing any sort of work on the ceiling is a major PIA though. That being said, if I use up all my wall space, I'll probably do this.

Coming down to the wire for this week's FB matchup. Need Vargas not to #### the bed and (1 of the following for a tie and two for a win)1. 2 HRs out of Napoli/Votto/Gordon - Votto likely won't play today2. Vargas to out K Phil Hughes by 3Ks (not counting Hughes 7ks so far)3. Hughes not get the W and 1 W from Vargas/Parnell/Cook/Casilla4. 2 wins from Vargas/Parnell/Cook/Casillanote that y'all care, but I needed to think this out anyway:popcorn:
I'm praying for you.

Taking Flaming Bird (otherwise known as Fly Jr.) to his first trip to Yankees Stadium today.
Sorry about his luck. Too bad you can't take him to a stadium with history and memories
Like losing to your arch-rival on its 100th anniversary? :BOOM: Ho!

What's the deal with the bread?
Peanut Butter and Jellyfish. :BOOM: Ho!

like having 100 years of history and memories in a place to draw on. Parents taking their children taking their children taking their children. All in the same place. With the memories flowing back every time you step into the ball park - win or lose

Just had to offload one of the girls I've been dating recently. Was a little too :loco: for me.

On the first date she was talking about how I might be the one, etc.

Terrible terrible things happened to her growing up and it's clearly effected her.

I wasn't willing to take on the burdens of that despite the top notch :pickle:
