GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

So my son is in the official Reds kids fan club, and this morning they had a private "press conference" for the kids at the stadium with Zach Cozart (my son's favorite player), Chris Heisey, and Logan Ondrusek. They had the players on the field right in front of the dugout and we were all sitting in the first 7 or 8 rows. When it was time for the questions, they had the kids line up the stairs, and it was about 100 kids long. My son was probably around 70th, and they cut the thing off after about 50 questions. A lot of the kids were upset but it was heartbreaking to see how hard my son was taking it. He cried for about 10 minutes. I tried to explain that he should have felt lucky to be there and to think of all the kids that weren't there. And that I never had the opportunity to do stuff like this when I was a kid.
Way to set your kid up for disappointment

SPEAK TO ME T-REX JESUS!

For I have downed a carafe of sangria and have just tapped the Jamesons and the night is young and there are miracles to be worked and laughter to be had.

ALSO MY BLESSED MESSIAH

The three foot tall cockblock is away at his grandparents and the wife is half crocked and life is GOOD! HALLELUJAH!

My brother's wife is pregnant with their first child. She is at 29 1/2 weeks and they flew out to Colorado for her best friend's wedding. Her water broke today, and she will be having the baby very early in the next 24-48 hours, after being airlifted from bum#### Colorado to Denver. After that they will have to keep the baby in Denver for however long it takes for the kid to get healthy, so my brother and his wife are stranded in a different state with a very premature baby while all their family is Minnesota, as well as their jobs which will have to be put on hold. Not to mention finding a place to live for anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, all while not working. I can't imagine a worse situation, and right now I'm imagining the baby's health as "all good" because I can't imagine how to deal with all this otherwise. And I have no idea what to do.

Thoughts, prayers, wishes, etc. are all good.

That's horrible. Good luck to all.

Good news:

[*]Brother's wife's parents are actually in Denver since they were there for the wedding. I can't imagine how comforting that must be.

[*]Brother's wife sister (and best friend) is some sort of missionary hippie type, so she's already on her way

[*]Baby is already 3 lbs. 12 oz, which is big for the size and can only bode well for health

[*]My wife and I had varying issues with both our kids and they pulled through to be the pain in the asses they are today, so #### yeah, genetics!

Also, and I realize this probably isn't completely necessary, but I know some don't get along well with their families but my brother is my best friend and his wife and my wife are best friends. I don't know if that's relevant but instead of thinking about it I'm going to go do a shot since I don't have to work tomorrow and all.

Damn, man. Best of luck.

Hopefully this makes it onto the page of good news. We are expecting baby #3 in Jan/Feb. With two daughters already I am praying this one is a boy. I don't think I will make it if I have 3 teenage girls and a wife in the house at the same time.Tiger Fan, both my daughters have/had a lazy eye (both my wife and I had them). The 4 year old had surgery at 3.5 years old to correct it after patching the good eye did not correct the bad one. Daughter #2 is being patched and hopefully her's corrects on its own.Oh yeah, I am sitting in front on a bonfire by myself with a cooler of session beers next to me. :banned:
Congrats! You dumb, stupid, *******. ;)
Thanks. Guess it doesn't matter if I broke my nuts on the bike ride since they had already done their thing.
Latest: baby coming sometime in the next 12. Everybody root hard for Lukas even though it's a stupid name.
Damn, that sucks. Good thing is at least Lukas won't be born a Minnesotian.

almost forgot, nipples. oh how could i forget you, nipples.
Aren't nipples just a subset of boobs? Or have I been thinking about it wrong all along?
I'd think you could dig nipples but dislike boobs (hard to believe but I suppose you could) but I don't think you could hate nipples and love boobs.
Do areolas count? I don't like big areolas.
Wife's pregnant? You'll end up changing your mind. You kind of have to.
Just capturing this to make sure Zooks notices

This is rough. Barrels of positive karma for the kid's health.

Calling all GMTAN Thoprawishers -My niece was diagnosed with a grade 3 brain tumor. Mid 30's, 2 daughters, now looking at brain surgery and 5 weeks of radiation. From what I'm reading, prognosis is not all that great for this type of tumor.Retroactive good vibes to all those in here that I was too lazy/self-absorbed to post at the time. :bag:Oh, and #### cancer!
Update - surgery went well, and she was sent home from the hospital a day sooner than expected. Now gearing up for radiation, but everything seems to be as good as could be expected so far.

k4...How many people does the house in guatamala accomodate?
There are two houses, both in Granada, Nicaragua (not Guatemala). Casa Camila holds six and Casa Paloma eight, though Paloma still only has 3-BR but just has two beds in one of the BRs, so it's not really a comfortable spot for eight adults unless you live in SLB's neighborhood.
How far apart are they and what do they rent for (and how far from the beach)PM if you prefer.

Was he going to ask Cozart why he sucks so bad?

from what I remember, these aren't really close to a beach. They are in the city of Granada. Looks like there's a huge lake nearby but the ocean isn't too close.

"Who's your favorite Star Wars character?"

AC in my car still freaking out. The fan is going, but I hear the compressor go on and then off again with uncool air for a while...I thinking it's some kind of wiring/relay issue and/or the compressor itself. I think I am covered under the extended warranty. Still enjoying my extra day off before my new job. May have off tomorrow too due to slow paperwork processing.

well, that was good. wife lasted about 15 seconds after my last post before she caved.
How old? You really should let the baby cry it out. Learn how to go back to sleep on its own. Bad cycle beginning for you.
19 monthsshe's too old to be throwing these kinds of tantrums.
 Never heard of the terrible twos? She's just hitting her tantrum throwing prime.
Our 2's were great, little did we know she was just saving it for the Terrible Threes and the ####in Fours.
LOVED the 2s & 4s...HATED the 3s. Will send baby Petunia to boarding school for year #3.

Sucks to miss out on talking to all those stars.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Just discovered this band (are they a band? I never know anymore with names - is it one guy?) on Friday. Would like some more music of theirs to listen to. Right up my alley. Listened all weekend long. Great with brownies.
