GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

July 31st Update:

The past few days of GMTAN have been fairly quiet. Some would say too quiet. Alas, with an errant dive by SLB and an errant post by Texasfan there are suddenly 3+ pages to sift through.

To start things off for the day SLB posted news of his headfirst dive into a shallow pool. The damage report was a broken neck (literally) and some sort of worm-like growth on the top of his head. Well wishes abound for his speedy recovery.

Krista4 has moved on to the 2nd round of interviews in her quest to join the luxurious lifestyle afforded by the Pacific Northwest.

Marvin complemented GM on his beautiful granddaughter in his new Facebook profile picture. GM is only 39.

TexasFan was booted for posting a threatening message. He is likely not to be seen back for a fairly long time. Details probably can be found :e:lsewhere.

Desert Rose began school – apparently the new principal is making some changes.

Frosty’s played through the immense pain of 3 earlier softball games in order to give it to his wife for 20 minutes.
:lmao: You've outdone yourself here.I'd need confirmation from our Ombudsman, but I'd like to see you appointed Official GMTAN Historian.
Sure, whatever. Congrats.

Really can't ask for a better endorsement than this.

Wow. I'm glad you are in such good spirits. Hang in there GBSLB. :(
Not a whole lot of choices GB. My wife keeps telling me to quit making jokes but she keeps looking at me and crying saying things like I don't know what I would do if you could never hold me again. My boys and the dog look at me in horror. :lmao: I'm working on them though. ;) Thanks for all of the kind words from all of you.
man, gadzooks is going to be really conflicted after hearing this news.
:lmao: :lmao: I told him via text that I was gonna wait a day before commenting on close it was to the "Hot Mrs. SLB" becoming the "Hot but Sexually-Disappointed Mrs. Zooks"

In case anyone missed the Korean Horse Riding Ace Power commercial.

My link

Can't wait for these to make it to American gyms, would probably increase membership.

Hey k4, are we supposed to suggest Seattle on FB to provide cover for a trip there? If so, Seattle
:lmao: No, I've only allowed one person from work on my FB, and she is not in my group and totally trustworthy.Got the call this morning after my interview yesterday that they are sending me to the second round. The company is very odd in that, at least for lawyer positions, they do two phone screens and one in-person. That's it. The absence of in-person interviews is astonishing to me. I had to do four full days for my current job, plus four phone screens and a bunch of other crap. So that's heartening, at least. Oddly enough I didn't feel so good about my phone screen yesterday, which is the first time I've ever felt that way. But I guess it was good enough. Anyway, would have to make it one more step before making my way out there for an in-person.
I bet Unfrozen Cave Man Lawyer shtick would work great in an interview.

Anyone having problems with the "Go to Last Unread Post" button? It's working everywhere else in the forums for me but not in this thread. I keep getting taken to the very last post.

Bob, why'd they sew a ###### onto your head?
When the doc was stapling me my cousin asked me what it felt like. The only thing I could come up with was if somebody had a heavy duty stapling like object and was putting staples in your head. That's when the doctor asked me if I could feel it. Just a little late there doc. :lmao: Thanks again for the kind words Cos and the rest. You guys are the best. Feel free to make fun. My friends and myself were doing so immediately. They know I wouldn't want it any other way. Rose, hope school get better for you. Frosty, that is really tough, man.

It can't compare with a broken neck but I badly mangled my knee on Monday while zip-lining with my family. Trees are NOT 70% air. I went into a platform too fast and went knee first into the padded tree. George of the Jungle-esque.

Nothing broken, but knee and thigh are badly swollen. Waiting on ortho appt Friday for further details of "soft tissue injury". A lot of pain the last 48 hours. Every once in a while I bend my knee to the wrong spot and wince. I can hobble but really can't put much pressure on it.

Driving is a challenge since it is right leg, but I made it into work today.

worst part is that all the stupid meth addicts have made it so that the best they gave me was a Loratab.

Oh yeah, how could I forget this. After the first CT scan I asked the tech how it looked. I knew she wasn't supposed to tell me but figured it was good for a read. She replied laughing "all I can tell you is I saw a cat in there". :lmao:

I couldn't/can't see my shirt because of the neck brace so the first thing I asked my wife was if I was wearing a cat shirt. I wasn't. :lmao:

:lmao: Hope you get a fast recovery. My cousin broke his skiing, and while the recovery has been painful, he is basically back to normal.

Damn that sucks GB. Having mangled my knees too, I know it isn't fun. Hope they get you in soon. Kev thanks for the offer too. I sincerely appreciate it.

Same issue.
Same problem this a.m. I had almost two pages I had to go back and catch up on.
I thought it was my new computer.
Ditto
I'm starting to think that GMTAN is all just being imagined in SLB's head and the recent trauma has things going a little haywire

Worst/most comical part of my injury is that I'm in severe pain on the platform and the owner or manager who sounds like "Peggy" from the credit card commercials immediately starts ranting at me to make sure it's all my fault and he doesn't get sued. "Why you no read sign? We have rules. Why you no follow rules?..."

Like Bob was ever normal.

I forgot to report in here last night that when I arrived home, Mr. krista informed me he had accidentally peed on our kitten.

God I hope this is a euphemism. In a related story, i was walking my dogs last night. The taller one stopped to pee and lifted his leg. The shorter one (part Golden) kept walking right underneath him and got a nice shower.

:goodposting: Just noticing the same thing - seems like it started this morning.

Um. Texanfan02 might see you again in 2015. And all posts he ever made have been purged. At least that's what I hear :kicksrock:
So the Neighborhood boy shot and killed thread just got cut in half?

:lmao:

The kitten (not a euphemism) is insane and constantly jumping everywhere. Unfortunately leapt directly into the stream (not a euphemism). So gross.

I appreciate that you guys are trying to add a little spice to your love life...good for you!
I think it's cute that they call it 'our kitten'
:lmao: The first time I read it I thought it said "peed in our kitchen". Maybe Mr. Krista's Chef career made my mind see "kitchen". Very odd.

I freaking worked hard on that!!!!

I had staples in my head once. Popped one out a few days later while washing my hair. Called the doc and he was like, no problem the other ones should hold at this point. Course I have hair so maybe it's not as crucial.

I seriously think the broken 'go to first new post button' is mucking everything up.
