GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

I've spent far too much time in that "Are you ashamed you masturbate" thread today. Slighlty unrelated to that, Tanner, your Mom still hasn't accepted my friend request. What's her deal?

I'm one of those people that prefers actually owning books, but I think I may break down and get a kindle. As I'm sitting here on Amazon looking at $8-$10 books I'm thinking maybe this is the wrong play.Do I get the Kindle Fire? Is that what the kids do? I'm a prime member and it seems like a no brainer.
you can download about a million books for free in a matter of minutes.kindles are pretty awesome.
I'll take a PM...seriously. Imagine I know nothing more than how to buy books from Amazon on my Kindle.
About which part?
About how to download free books and then put them on my Kindle.
Did we ever get a link to a site where this can happen? Or is it just torrents?

I used to use demonoid but I guess they were shut down recently.

Just got my bill from the ER. I know it is silly inflated but if I didn't have insurance I would almost certainly have to sue them for putting my collar on backwards.

$7842.85
I've also got clearance to get back on the sauce to see how it goes. Anyone? :banned:

Any Westchester County residents/experts want to suggest the best way to get from JFK to a hotel in downtown White Plains? It's a business trip to the client will be paying. I was thinking a prearranged car service rather than a cab for more comfort. I'll have three bags and it will be past midnight so I'm not trying to take the train.
Either car service (Carmel) or cab should be fine

Seems low.:lmao:You can pay cash for a CT scan in the $500-$700 range. I didn't take any pain meds. A quick Google says a bag of saline is $45.00. (That my wife hooked up BTW because they were short people.) How much to take a staple gun to my head? Pretty sure I could get most of the people here to do it for free. A five yo neck brace, couldn't be more than $20.00. I paid $40.00, out of pocket no insurance, for my new snazzy one.Crazy.

SLBob>at least $5K of your tab was just the cost of having ER open and staffed 24/7, ready for anyone who leads with their heads. :boxing:

Having said that, hope you're feeling much better in three weeks. :banned:

I hope I'm feeling much better in 3 weeks too. The last time I was in Vegas I had a concussion now that I'm thinking about it. Rude, please have :wall: recoded to :slb:.This one is actually better, different but better. I need to quit hitting my head on concrete. I don't even want to think about how many years this is taking off my life.

Speaking of ER visits, when I had my zip-line accident, I went to the ER near the zip-line park. Four days later, I went to see the orthopedic surgeon. Five days after that, I had knee surgery. I've also had 3 other ortho visits.

All of my claims have hit my insurance - except for the ER visit.

I'm going through our On Demand, trying to find something good and hopefully educational to watch. I opt for the Discovery Channel menu, and I stumble upon a TV show called "Embarrassing Bodies".

There are 4 episodes available:

"A Hairy Situation" - Rachel's hairy situation; Maria's uniboob :lmao:

""Hot and Sweaty" - David's rotting armpits; Holly's excessive sweating :X

"Vacation Nightmare" - A growing problem for a bride to be; nasty souvenirs you don't want to bring home from vacation

"Virile Appeal" - Richard needs to get something off his chest; Alan's silent humiliation

downloading now

Serious question for parents; I've got a 12 year old nephew who just "stole" money from me. He downloaded something on my x-box without my permission, which charged my debit card on file. The amount of money was inconsequential, as it was only $5, but I emphasized to him that I considered it stealing. I have no idea how to handle this? It ultimately falls on his mother (my sister), but she's pretty much worthless and it was me he stole from. Any suggestions?

My Xbox account was hacked, and about 1600 Microsoft points and $100 worth of stuff was charged to my discover card (thankfully I get email alerts of Xbox purchases, but not for point expenditures or it could have been worse). I got it all reversed, but I would advise removing any cards from the Xbox account. Microsoft makes it a pita to remove a card if it used to pay an auto renewing gold account, but since Discover immediately changed my number, they can suck it when it goes to renew in January, and I am going strictly prepaid gift cards from here on.For what it's worth, the hackers got my gamer tag from a breach at EA games, brute forced the password, and bought a bunch of lame FIFA crap with the points before buying three big downloadable games.Question though, you sure he knew what he was doing and wasn't just being a typical 12 year old and completely oblivious to the situation?

That's a given. I should add there's was a good 5 minutes of screaming out him, which probably wasn't best. Stealing from family is pretty low on the scale though, regardless of age.

I think I'll buzz up to Dallas (area) for BB King on Tue and the TB Rays on Wed. Anyone up for holing some corn?
I'll need to rearrange some things, but I could probably meet you at the game Wed. :banned:
I think I can move kids' dinner to make this game as well.
nice.
bump for bentRley
Didn't see any filthy hippies in the photo so I assumed this was off.

At first I thought it may have been an accident. X-box customer support said he purchased 400 xbox live points, then downloaded to "themes", whatever the hell that is. So, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Jesus christ. He's a dumb kid and it's $5. Anything beyond a "don't ever do this again without asking me" was an overreaction.

Our View: Bob was a great player, but six too many concussions and one too many broken necks makes him just too risky to draft this year.

In 36 team deep leagues he may be worth a roster slot.

He will probably be bagging groceries by years end.
:lmao: I fear this may be pretty accurate.
Wait a second SLB has the head wound? How do you guys keep track....
:lmao: All of the "get better SLB" and "sorry to hear this Bob" didn't give it away?
Cute. This is how I do it.
I imagined it like this.
I thought Sheriff Bart had the head wound... I meant tracking alias, unless sb is not slb ..... :bag:

Also,

My link

I got as far as #12 and had to alert GMTAN that young Marvin was misbehaving in school.
Some good shtick in there. I particularly like the "Hammer of Justice."
Tomorrow when my kids get off the bus and drop their backpacks inside the door, I am totally going all "That's Mahogany!!!" on them.
Haven't seen Hunger Games, so this was one of those things that seemed funny even not knowing what it was referring to.

lolz.... I thought I just opened the Bladerunner thread- couldn't figure out when it turned into some kind of insider's Test Forum.

This is apparently not the Bladerunner thread. In case any of you had other ideas.

Our total hospital bills were $17K plus when Yuke was diagnosed with having a big head. Of course, that required an overnight stay. I'm pretty happy for the $2K out of pocket maximum our health plan has.

When Ben spent those several days in the NICU after his birth the hospital was nice enough to split all the bill 50/50 in my wife's name and Ben's name. Since our insurance max was per person, that was a nice touch.

That does suck. Ours is also per person. I think maybe there's a $5K family max.

When our second was born the bills came in my wife's name, my daughter's name, and then a few came as "baby uofi316". Luckily we had already reached our 5k max out of pocket so it was all covered. I think I added up the totals and the hospital billed around 20k, and the insurance "agreed" upon costs were like 7k.How do I get in the $100/aspirin business??

Just be glad you didn't have open heart surgery like I did. The total cost is somewhere around $55,000-60,000. Thankfully insurance picks up most of it.

Tales of poor parenting --

My oldest son has had bad teeth. This is probably a combination of things but ultimately we had waited too long to take him to the dentist. I think we first took him when he was 5. At that time the dentist recommended doing 6 caps on his teeth. We got 4 of them done pretty quickly. The first set of 2 was not bad on him. The second set of 2 was a pretty bad experience for us all. So, we waited to the last set of 2.

Fast forward to last night. We had still not gotten the last 2 caps on his teeth. He was brushing his teeth and showed me his lower gum. There was a good size gum boil there. My wife took him to the dentist this morning. Where the boil is located is the tooth that they recommended doing the cap on.

So now he is looking at a choice of either doing the cap or having it extracted and a spacer put in. :wall: I should have taken care of the cap sooner.

That is all.

You screamed at a 12 year old for 5 minutes? What the hell is wrong with you?
