My new favorite thing with installing stuff like this is that they give you like one extra of each thing. It's awesome in case a screw doesn't fit or you lose one or whatever. Even better though is even when they used to give you the EXACT amount of parts/pieces, I'd still end up with extra. Now I have a ready-made excuse! Wow.
Who told you this? I've mudded over plenty of areas before, and never had problems with water-based primer.I thought oil primers were more for water stains, etc.

I've used paint with primer before, but only to cover light colored paint. For covering up something dark, I wouldn't trust paint with primer. I'd make the effort to do the steps separately.

This afternoon I got home from work and my daughter asked me, "How do you say taco in Spanish" so I said it's just taco in both languages. Later when my wife got home my daughter counted to five in Spanish in front of us and my wife said, "It must be something they're doing at school, she's obsessed with Spanish lately." I mentioned how she asked me how to say taco and my wife said, "She asked me that one too. I had to google it."

Painted Bronk Jr's nursery with paint/primer mix this summer. I painted over a pretty dark tan wall with blue and green and it turned out pretty well
