GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Dibs, and I ain't been there yet. There was an article on, I think, Huffpost the other day saying you could live in Granada for $700/month if you ate/shopped like the locals.

I swear to God, if I can't shake the Dean Krzyzewski glob of #### in my chest I think I may cash out & do it. Hell, I might anyway if I can nudge my 401K up just a bit.
You could live like a king for $1000 a month or decently for $500 a month.
I  a good krippling.
 , but this one is pretty lame. Mostly :lmao: . You guys were prolific and funny yesterday.
As are you today. You get my e-mail yesterday?

Day 2 of boy weekend is rocking so far. Went to Target this morning to load up on essentials (goldfish, ice cream sandwiches, more beer). Then we went to the park and fed the ducks. Ate lunch at Central Market and watched a local kids' choir perform. I tried to get JR to talk to Santa, but he informed me that Santa's job was to bring him presents, not have a conversation with him.Once Scooby Doo is over, we are going to do a little minor repair work on the tailgate bus and pick up a pizza. I'm going to DVR Texas and KSU and catch up on it once they're in bed.
That sounds awesome.
I let JR pack the tools. We are equipped with four hammers and a socket set to remove a couple fuses. I like the way that boy thinks.

Mr. krista came home from work and, before falling asleep, told me to wake him before he slept so long that he would hate himself for sleeping so long. How do I know how long this is?

Hey Bill, thanks for the note. I haven't sent yet. I was hoping to get the one with Devin's name on it in the mail first, but if I don't will just send the one in my name. Anyway, will FedEx it no later than Tuesday, just to be safe.

Cool. Should'a known our crack-IT staff has #### the bed again. I'm guessing this time they spilled chow mein in the billion dollar servers they oversee while playing WoW.

This is a good plan, you can just drop the DVR in the nearest swimming pool when it gets to be too much. You degenerates are ***officially*** warned to stay away from the Longhorns +11. Play the over if you must have action. My guess is 55-24 or so.Seriously considering catching the game at the scrip club. If the game becomes unwatchable, there's always Cheyenne and Dakota.

Scrip club is always a good idea. I don't think I can get JR or Yuke in though. Will probably check live score before hitting DVR. I also have a Skyfall torrent to watch if things are out of hand.

I am going to a tacky Christmas sweater party tonight. t's too warm to be wearing a sweater. :kicksrock:

First world problems in Dallas.

Rite Aid is just a few blocks from my house, so I got there for that reason alone. But their beer prices knock it out of the park. Add in no lines, front row parking and an excellent selection of butters, well....you just don't beat that, I'm afraid. Also, great deals on ice.
Is there no "lowest price allowed by law" in Oregon? There is no "cheapest place to buy beer" here....they're all the same (drug stores, grocery stores, wal mart, etc)...unless you're talking about comparing microbrews and such...but I doubt they're selling those at Rite Aid.
They sell some micro brew at Rite Aid in Washington.
Yeah, here too. They price fix all the hard liquor in Oregon, though, as it's all run by the state. Used to be that way in Washington until you guys passed some sort of ballot measure to allow privatization of liquor sales. Except that backfired because of all the taxes they placed on it. So now, it's cheaper to drive into Oregon and buy price fixed liquor minus all the taxes. :lmao: Rite Aid has extraordinary prices on micro-brews. I can get a 12 pack of McTarnahan's Amber Ale for $12.99. That's a steal. I can routinely get Becks for $11.99. Love that one. So, cheaper than Costco without the aggravation. And, also...it's already cold. Not sure why Costco can't sell cold beer.
You forgot about the part where you have your grandma from Eugene buy liquor in WA to avoid the taxes all together.

I would love to see the Rams burst that little Kaepernick bubble.

The Cards appear to be the new Chiefs.
You could argue he's had it kind of easy when you dig it into it a little more. Or at least things unfolded nicely for him (STL clueless, Cutler out, Brees handing over 2 TDs).The MNF game was against an overrated Bears team and 72 year-old Jason Campbell with no O-line...at home. It was over at half. Chicago had one possession with more than 3 plays in the first half and I wouldn't call their D that night inspired. He did capitalize however, and that was his best half of football, imo.

The Saints game was more of the same with a dominate SF D...2 pick 6's being the difference. And the new King was crowned. Nice to get to face that Saints D, too; what are they last? Granted, it was in the Dome, I'll give him that.

BTW, should Harbaugh -- and I dig Harbaugh, he has great skin -- but should he have showed his hand on Wednesday? I know he said he did it so his guys didn't have to deal with it anymore, but still.
:lmao:

On the way home from the bus, JR dug out a booger and asked me to roll down the window so that he could feed it to the invisible chickens of his that were riding in the back of the truck.

"Daddy, chickens like boogers."

How could I argue with that?

Boy the Longhorns are getting worked.
That's a surprise to nobody. I can't believe that they're still going to end up in the Cotton vs. Georgia, but that's the rumor. If it happens, I intend to get drunk enough at the tailgate that I don't remember the game.
 I was actually rooting for the Horns until I saw the fat, gay guy from Modern Family on the K-State sideline. That show is funny.

stalked Pam Oliver at the Gap this afternoon  she's much nicer looking in person, imo. always imagined her forehead being part of a completely outsized total package. it's not. she's actually about 4-5 inches shorter than i figured. and her giant ### looks smaller but great in person
Post the pics, brah.

My 2-year old (Bennett, who some of you probably remember from his semi-traumatic first couple weeks) is now going to be doing speech therapy because at 2 years and 2 months old he can say maybe 5 words if you stretch. He can say the first sound in a whole bunch of words and is clearly very smart (not just a parent thing, his "evaluator" said the same) and he can communicate non-verbally and/or grunt and pointally no problem, but the words just aren't coming.
Both my kids have been in speech therapy. But that's because my wife stays at home and found out about free public programs. It's been beneficial, but then again, maybe they just needed time to "catch up".
As a follow-up to this, we took my daughter for an evaluation a few months ago to see if she qualified for additional help. We found out she qualified for free pre-school as soon as she turns 3, which is Monday. Our district has two early childhoold schools where half the kids are there on an IEP (some type of "disability") and the other half are low-income Head Start kids. 3.5 hours 4 days a week. While I don't think she's that far behind (and I have some guilt that she may be taking a spot of someone that is worse off), I really think this is going to be good for her. What I find crazy is that she doesn't have to requalify every year, she's automatically in for the next three.

Shuke> My wife did a lot of IEP stuff when she was a practicing social worker. Please PM or call if you ever have any questions about it. We'd be happy to help.

Yellow Rose. They've remodeled since I was there last. But strippers are eternal.

I haven't been to the Rose in several years, but it was always my favorite. I watched pretty much the whole last month of the regular season for the Rangers there back in 1996 when they won their first division title. Somehow I couldn't afford cable to watch the games but I could afford to hit the Rose several times a week.

Had my 2nd evening of myself and 3 month old Charles home alone. For the 2nd time he was an angel for me and he ate, pooped and slept without incident. My wife goes back to work on Monday and I have off for the next three weeks for daddy day care. She got home from the bar and is already crying about it...as she has been since Tuesday. Tomorrow will be fun.
