GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

I have been remiss in not posting my secret santa gift from ysr:

A quality cardboard box from Zappos

Two chunks of the best cheese in the world and a testament to my santa's notebook and/or search skills

Kaluha coated pecans

3 kinds of fudge

Assorted homemade cookies

A tin of dog biscuits. I enjoyed them, but cosdog said he prefers baked xmas goods from Oregon

A University of Tennessee Guide and Advising handbook cosdog2 took to the backyard to peruse, then eat

A bottle of the best Lodi Zinfandel I ever tasted. In fact, probably a top 5 overall. Klinker Brick

Fingertip moistener

3 keychains from a self storage operation

Self-inking rubber stamp: NUCLEAR MED TECH

Another stamp I seem to have already misplaced

A Gift card to ALamo Draft House (we go there several times a month)

Assorted packing materials

Just a great, thoughtful and fun assortment! Thanks so very much,

Good luck with the chemo Uruk.
Thanks, GB. Not chemo, though, just radiation and some witch doctor stuff. I'm not doing any more chemo - #### that ####. This is a choice I'm pretty clear-eyed about - I would rather load up on opiates both legal and illegal, and drift away than do that again. I'm not saying no one else should, just that it didn't seem to help (according to Lucy, the radiation did more - ?) and it made me sick as ####. As I said above, I feel pretty good nowadays so maybe it's easy for me to say these things now and act like John Wayne. The best thing about all of this is that it forced me to get my affairs in order, which everyone should do whether you're sick or not. The last Will I had written was 20 years ago and doesn't apply anymore (2 divorces and a few properties ago). I overspent for a lawyer on this one when I could've done it myself, but I had a reason: besides my brother & mother, I have no heirs. If I somehow outlive them, I have no one to leave my "estate" to; I have cousins, but all are better-off than I and don't need money. So, the lawyer is 3rd in line behind mom/bro with the instructions to liquidate and give all profits to the local food bank. I also got on paper to be creamated, not to be kept alive by artificial means, and to have anyone who wants one to take an organ for whatever reason (God help who ends up with my lungs and liver).I'm just guessing here, but it seems most who post regularly in this thread have kids/SO/homes/family (hell, even if you don't). Not to get all preachy, but do your loved ones a favor and write a Will. It'll take less than a half-hour of your time and can cost under $100. I've seen first-hand what "no Will" can #### up and it ain't pretty.
Yeow. I had no idea. How old are you? Based on our musical tastes, it sounds like we are fairly close in age. My recent health issues (diabetes, high BP/cholesterol, no energy, etc.) have had me revisting paperwork as well. My dad died a couple of years ago with stomach cancer as did his dad. Stay strong man, we haven't met but would love to meet you. You will be in my T&P.

What are you doing for the SUperbowl?

Live on the side of a small hill. Our living room window is upstairs and we have a great view. It's lightly snowing right now.

And out of no where, right in front of our window at 9pm, an Asian Sky Lantern rises into the sky.

Golf tourney - what is up? Having a cornhole with UH?

If you have some extra gambling money to burn, Louisville at 14-1 is an absolute steal right now. I just threw a pretty large wager on it. I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't at least make the Final Four, so hedging opps would abound as well. No brainer, imo.

Looks like I'm going to have some free space in the budget for a smoker. Is there a thread around here that discusses such things that isn't the BGE thread? I'm looking at those too, but want to check out all my options.
How often are you going to use it?

Took the son to see the Globetrotters today. Was disappointed that they weren't playing the Washington Generals anymore, but rather a team I think was just called "Select".

I still have a love-love relationship with Morocco, even though it tried to kill me. Not surprising to get a horrible cold or whatever this is after sleeping in a tent in the ####### desert, I guess.ETA: Greetings from Paris, everyone. One flight down; two to go before we're home.
please. god. stop.
Got a problem there, bud?And because I won't be stopping, I'll report that we are now home, which is awesome. The part that sucks is that home is in Memphis.

Julio asked me to send him an Orioles cap. So, I bought 3 different hats. My idiot-self must've not written the Nicaraguan address correctly because Amazon shipped them here (my default shipping address). Luckily, krista is going down there in a couple of weeks and will take them for me. When I explained all of this to Julio, his exact response was "OK MAN DON,T WORRY PERFECT!!!".
That's awesome. Don't worry--if things had gone to Nicaragua it would take months (really) to get there and then Julio would have to go to Managua to sign for the package. It's better this way.Good luck with the radiation next week. I don't feel like "good luck" is the appropriate nomenclature, but I'm not sure what else might be.

We leave Lisbon tomorrow to get back home. There is a 65.6% chance I will not make it home due to the Saharan death flu I'm still battling. This sucks. On the bright side, we had lunch here today. Tony Bourdain recommended, krista4 approved...best seafood I've had anywhere in my life.
oof, remember my love/hate relationship with Morocco I posted about? *ding* *ding*... Thopras, s.Side note: Ramiro, eh? They have a wheel barrow service... supposedly...

It supposedly means that when you consume enough port and wine to take down a small hoard of elephants, they stuff you in a wheel barrow and "drive" you to your hotel curb, supposedly.Oh, cold eh? Yeah, that's not bad. I had an amoeba make a visit.
Yeah, figured I might have implied stomach stuff. Nothing so dire.Weird thing in Portugal was that wherever we went, they told us what to eat and drink. So yes, lots of wine at Ramiro, but not enough to need the wheelbarrow. Would have been fun.

No idea. Once a week? I want something good. I have this "buy it once" philosophy.
At that frequency I'm guessing an egg. But I'm no expert.

That does suck. I have no doubt those guys still draw a crowd, you can't keep a second team bus to travel with them? At the very worst, if you are getting players in each city, stick them in the Generals uniforms. The Generals live!!

Maybe they just didn't make it to your town.

I think there are like 3 touring Globetrotters teams. The Generals might play one. The others play local clubs. Sometimes the Globetrotters actually lose.

The Globetrotters do an annual show here on NYE. I haven't been since I was probably 8 or 9 years old but it was good fun. They may not be the draw that they were 20-30 years ago but it's good, quality family entertainment. Can't wait to take my son.

Frosty > Screech lives in Milwaukee and hosted an 80's and 90's dance party tonight. Sadly I didn't go but I know people who did. Will let you know if Lark Voorhies, Dennis Haskins or Leanna Creel made an appearance

Just had a cigar and a glass of Eagle Rare in a hot tub about 200 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Now sitting in a massage chair and seeing what you drppgs are up to. Life is good right now.

Any spots left at Coshole? Asked a question about it last week and was met with a deafening silence - not sure if that means I shouldn't be asking.

Thanks, Bink. You & I keep the Runt love alive in the music threads, so meeting up is a must. I'm 50. You take care of yourself, too. Can't recall - where's your home base?

My 2.5 year old has reached the phase of trying to see what she can get away with. And since her birth, her mother and I have been strict about her respecting other people and having good manners. These two things are colliding at the moment. Just yesterday we had the following exchanges;"P, did you kick the dog?""Yes sir.""P, will you pick up your toys?""No ma'am""If you don't quit running around (best buy) and stand here while I pay for this dishwasher, I am going to have to spank you in public. Do you want a spanking in front of these nice people?""Yes sir. Please. Thank you."She also told the best buy salesman that she had just pooted and then ran off again.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Went to an uber hipster bar last night. I don't go out that much anymore, so this thing everything I wanted and more. Glorious people watching for 3 straight hours.

I hope Peens is OK.
I hope Peens, Jerry Jones,Rob Ryan, Tony Romo and Jason Garrett all ####### die in an aids fire tonight.
How does Rob Ryan avoid this inferno?
Wonderful ####### point. Fixed.
You could probably light a house for a year running off the rendered blubber from a post-fire Ryan. It would also be nice if he got that powerdouche haircut caught in some machinery and was mangled pre-inferno.
