GM's thread about nothing (33 Viewers)

Very sorry, Otis. One practical tip is for you to come up with some kind of communication plan for friends and family - it sucks, but it's way better to get it over with and make sure everyone knows then to have people not know and say unintentionally hurtful things.
We were just discussing this. Given how many pics and things are on FB, she asked if she should put up a status update, nothing too dark and gloomy, just telling the world about it once so she doesn't have to keep reliving this. I think it's a good idea. Ill deal with the repeated awkward questions at work etc, but I would rather her not have to do that.

Randy Savage?
He is in my HS sports Hall of Fame. Buddies locker was under his picture in the hallway.
Randy Poffo?
Yep, both Randy and his brother Leaping Lenny Poffo.Good game last night. We are a one trick pony, and we couldn't do that one trick. We also have a knack of storming back to within 2 only to do stupid things and fall back (did the same thing against Purdue). Hopefully when we play in MN, Paul won't have to miss 8 minutes with a bloody nose and Abrams can stay out of foul trouble.

Thanks all. Second miscarriage in a row here after a perfect daughter. I'll chalk it up to a slump. First was only about 8 weeks, and was a lot easier than this one. We probably got pregnant again too fast after the first one. Mrs. O is taking it like a champ. Irreverant jokes continuing and all. She's awesome.
She is awesome, I'm sure. But I guarantee you this is tearing her up. I know you'll be there for her. Thoprawishes.

Sorry to hear Oats. Wife's sister and her husband went through a bunch of these. It was gut-wrenching because it was before they had their first, but they came out on the other side with 2 beautiful girls when it was all said and done. Hop back on as long as she lets you, or until your ever increasing weight will be a detriment to her well being.

Any if you guys ever deal with your wife having a miscarriage pretty far into pregnancy? At the hospital now. Wife is 5 months pregnant with what should be our second girl. In and out of the hospital past week or two with some seemingly minor issues, discharged yesterday after the full anatomy scan and ultrasound declaring the baby perfectly healthy. Back in the hospital tonight with my wife having contractions and going into labor. Obviously way too early to be viable. Instead of being home in bed we're listening to the nurse read us the official form which tells us that in NY state you have to bury the baby if it is beyond 20 weeks (ours is literally 20 weeks and a day today). Just awful. My poor wife has been through hell with this pregnancy. Life is ####### bull#### sometimes. I dunno. Just had to share.
:( I'm sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you guys.

That's horrible. TPW to you both.

Wow. That's really tough Otis. My heart goes out to you both. I don't think there's anything that can prepare you for such a horrible event or anything that could be said to ease your pain. Just love the one you have and try to move forward and prepare to give tons of extra love and support to your wife.
:goodposting: :goodposting: Had a few people very close to me go through this.I am proud of this thread in that this is where you chose to share. Continue to do so as needed. Good luck Otis.

Applied for a job about three weeks ago and got the call today that they would like to interview me...Sunday. In Boston. Had to look up the job as I didn't remember; turns out it was a fantastic job! In Portland, ME. :hey: Thorn. Thoughts?
Bad idea. Thorn, please wear one of those suits to keep the germs out until Coshole.

Brian Kelly interviewing for the Eagles. Hilarious.
Agreed. "I have the best job in the world.... Although I might changed mind for the chance to live in Philadelphia!"
Chip Kelly provided the blueprint on how to get more money out of your current employer
Les miles got an extension after not interviewing for a job he would never take. That's a bit more impressive.

Oof. I'm sorry oat. No experience with this except to say you should grieve however you want. And of people don't understand well #### them.

sucks to hear. We went through a lot of difficulties too. I forgot how stressful and aggravating the process can be.

"Ok, you're free to go. Spread your legs and fly. You are some of the best hoes I've ever had. It's true. You are. Daniella, I was tougher on you than all the rest, but that's because I believed in you. And now look at you...you have become one of the skankiest hoes I have ever had the privilege to throw out of a moving car."--Roger

My 9 year old asked me last night if I have ever smelled moth balls before. When I said yes, he asked me, "How'd you get his little legs apart."He laughed so hard he farted. I damn near pissed myself.

:goodposting: It's going to be hell, but be REAL strong for your wife as long as she needs. Use your big strong hands, Otis. And I'm really sorry for your loss, friend. :(

You know...I know a lot of lawyers here in Bakersfield. In fact my old roommate owns his own firm (specializing in bankruptcy). I could put in a good word.

This made me sad:Yesterday we were talking about Richard Nixon since it was his 100th birthday. I asked my students if any of them knew what the "M" in Richard M. Nixon stood for. Surprisingly about 4 kids (out of the 195 I have all day long) actually knew that it stands for "Milhous".The sad part? About 75% of these kids don't know who Milhouse Van Houten is.

This country is doomed.
