Any if you guys ever deal with your wife having a miscarriage pretty far into pregnancy? At the hospital now. Wife is 5 months pregnant with what should be our second girl. In and out of the hospital past week or two with some seemingly minor issues, discharged yesterday after the full anatomy scan and ultrasound declaring the baby perfectly healthy. Back in the hospital tonight with my wife having contractions and going into labor. Obviously way too early to be viable. Instead of being home in bed we're listening to the nurse read us the official form which tells us that in NY state you have to bury the baby if it is beyond 20 weeks (ours is literally 20 weeks and a day today). Just awful. My poor wife has been through hell with this pregnancy. Life is ####### bull#### sometimes. I dunno. Just had to share.
Damn, dude. F ucking terrible. You two hang in there.
:goodposting: It's going to be hell, but be REAL strong for your wife as long as she needs. Use your big strong hands, Otis. And I'm really sorry for your loss, friend. :(
:goodposting: I was gonna add earlier that she may be saying irreverant things, but this hurts for her so make sure she knows she doesn't need to "be tough" all the time about this. Painful loss for you guys. I'm sorry.

This made me sad:Yesterday we were talking about Richard Nixon since it was his 100th birthday. I asked my students if any of them knew what the "M" in Richard M. Nixon stood for. Surprisingly about 4 kids (out of the 195 I have all day long) actually knew that it stands for "Milhous".The sad part? About 75% of these kids don't know who Milhouse Van Houten is.
Did not realize that Milhouse Van Houten's middle initial is also 'M'. Without binging it ('sup GM), does anyone know what the M stands for?

This country is doomed.
I'm doing my part...While we spent our winter holiday break in lovely Detroit where you really don't ever leave the house unless you sprint to your already running car to drive to the next indoor spot, my boys entertained themselves with the DVD Box Sets of The Simpsons from the most glorious eras (early to late 90s) and we all laughed and laughed and laughed. There was the epic Monorail episode, the one where Ralph develops a crush on Lisa and one of my personal faves, the one where Bart calls Big Brothers and gets a new dad while Homer adopts Pepi, the little poor boy from the hood..."That dipper looking thing is....Jerry....the Cowboy". God did we laugh. So when we got back, I decided to DVR the Simpsons on Sunday nights. We watched one last Sunday. What. The. Hell. HAPPENED? We didn't laugh once. Not one time. My boys just sat there and stared and said "Dad, why isn't this funny"? Writing, I guess. But boy, does it suck now. Good lord.

Most comedies burn out after a few years, this one just kept going on anyways...

last night I did the wingman thing for my friend and ended up in a hot tub with one very hot and one fairly unattractive woman. the unattractive one gave me a bj while holding her breath under water. I sort of hoped she was going to drown.

Probably my favorite episode. "Bart, I could kiss you...if the Bigger Brothers hadn't made me promise I wouldn't."

Wow. I don't even know what to say here. I can't imagine what the both of you are going through.
:goodposting: #### man, that's heartbreaking. So sorry to read that. T&P for the O family.

Whew...had to hold onto my desk for a second . Minor tremor in North Florida caused by the new Jags GM saying he saw "no scenario Tebow could be a Jacksonville Jaguar". I'm sure we'll be in line for a plague of locusts now.

It takes a lot of balls to say something like that.

School shooting not too far from here. JFCETA: And yes...that is the high school that Robin Williams and Kurt Russell played for in "Best of Times".
Do not release name... interrogate... exterminate.
Word is that this wasn't a "Columbine/Sandy Hook" deal. It was more like the shooter had one specific target (apparently the victim) he was after. Not sure if that makes it any better or not.
Article says he was after 2 kids, Watson.

That's talent. Reminds me of the last Boy Scout.

Am I misinterpreting?"Sheriff Donny Youngblood said that the student shot one student who is in critical condition. The shooter attempted to shoot another student but missed and struck a teacher in the head. The shooter told authorities that he was planning on shooting another student."
