That's dumb. It was my incessant quest to drink for both of us that allowed him to heal up real pretty.
Last week I was contacted by an old client to come on as counsel on the eve of trial. It finished up today. Quite the ride to come into a case with four or five days to go before a 2-day trial, get up to speed on a three-foot high stack of docs, interview witnesses, and then try the dang thing. I think I may have a drink now.

:banned:
Did you win?
WTF cares? Did you get paid?
You better have gotten paid a significant premium to jump into a case like that.
I got a very full retainer before entering an appearance.I got the other parties to agree that we could do memos rather than closing arguments bc of my late entry. As a result we wont get a decision for a few weeks.

There are two claims against my client. Expect to successfully defend one, think on the other we are like 65/45 to win.
Not sure anyone cares, but judgment came down today in my favor on all counts. Even the 65/45 one. :pickle:
 Congrats GB

This is an act I would appreciate spreading to all races and cultures.
:goodposting:That's one of those questions you always want to ask a person of color but there isn't any way to do it without coming across as racist.
I seem to recall AZ Ron once saying that it was basically just to #### with white people. Could be wrong.
If that's the case then it works splendidly.

Had x-rays, today. Neurologist said I healed perfectly. Good news. Thanks again guys.
SLB is thanking me personally. I am his neurologist.
:lmao: Pretty sure it was my prayers that fixed him.

Have those of you that want a stay at home wife but don't have the money ever really looked at the numbers? We make 25% less than we did when AngryWife worked but we wasted 35% of our money on useless junk. So, now we are actually saving some money despite the pay cut.Since she's home, she also has time to find deals on groceries and toiletries and cook all our meals. I bring leftovers for lunch almost every day so we save money there. Obviously there's also a huge reduction in child care expense.
Admittedly no. And I am terrible at planning this kind of stuff. I need to hire tiger fan to sort out my finances and make me rich.
inI had the opposite happen to us. We planned ahead and figured everything out for Mrs. TF to stay at home....2 weeks into it she wanted to go back to work. I'm sure twins had something to do with it..but now the boys are in day care and we've got extra cash. But to Bentley's point...assuming day care costs are high and your wife isn't making FBG money, there can definitely be an argument around how staying at home for a few years is a cost saver
Problems for me:a) I don't make average FBG money. b) Wife makes about the same as me, and made more than me up until recently (she's hit her ceiling). c) Daycare is very cheap for us ($40 / wk) right now. Those things that Bob mentioned (sending off the kid at the bus stop, involved in school, etc.) sound very appealing to me and what i wish could happen. But I'm just not sure it makes sense. I would like to take a vacation some day with my little family, and also retire. I feel like I do a mix of smart things (paying down mortgage) and dumb things (I have no idea what to do with my retirement accounts despite the fact I put money in there all the time) and really don't know how to get all this sorted out. I'm too cheap to hire someone and don't even know who I would hire if I wasn't.

It's hard to imagine any facts that save face for Teo here.
All outcomes are pretty big hits for his public image. The leading theories so far:1. He perpetrated a hoax to 'raise his Heisman profile' 2. He perpetrated a hoax to cover up his homosexuality3. A hoax was perpetrated upon him by someone with wanted to embarass him.I think the motivation behind #2 & #3 make more sense (he wasn't a Heisman candidate in September and there was no indication he would be), while the facts (so far) slightly favor #1 or #2 (seemingly contradictory statements. Did he meet her in person, did he not?). I don't have access to the information, so I'm going to wait it out. Many of the tweets are funny and I can appreciate them, but as for which of the three is the truth, I'm going to wait to find out if Te'o is being Catfished, Te'o is Birdcaging or Te'o is Jonny Fairplaying this.I don't think that's an outrageous position.

even if it's #3, it makes him look really stupid and gullible.#2 is probably the most sympathetic storyline option out of the 3 for the general public, but not sure the NFL players would be all that supportive.#1 seems far fetched but would obviously make him look the worst.

Re #3, why did his father say she came out to Hawaii to visit? And didn't he "meet" her at Stanford?I don't buy the homo theory. Again, his dad's involved. And why kill off your beard?

Not sure. I imagine someone with access will follow up and ask these questions.I still don't get the motivation for #1, for those who think it is the truth. He had no discernible Heisman candidacy and no reason to believe adding a dead girlfriend storyline would gain him one (moreso than a dead grandmother). Still don't think wanting to wait until some more information comes out is an indefensible position.

Completely unrelated..... I would love to see Kev's magical outer space hair on your head. Even if it's just photoshopped. Can we make this happen? Not sure what made me think about this.
Haven't had a haircut since before Thanksgiving. It won't be Ancient Aliens guy-long by coshole, but it should look perfectly resplendent on Tre's dome.

How could #3 possibly be true?

The only reference I get here is the Jonny Fairplay one, which is a sad commentary on my life in that I don't get the others but do get this one. Little help here?I know some of the Tuiassasopa (yeah, no way I know how to spell that) clan. The ones I know are very good and decent people. And while this family is the South Pacific version of Kennedys (there's dozens of them and they are all well revered) it is hard to imagine of them concocting and perpetuating this hoax. I mean, this is character assassination. So bizarre.

Ever seen Catfish? Now, I don't know what kind of statements have been made about in-person meetups. I'm assuming they'll be followed up on. I wouldn't put it past a couple of Stanford students to start a fake online relationship with Te'o and it spinning out of control. Not saying that IS what happened, just that it could have.

Jonny Fairplay faked the death of his Grandmother on Survivor to gain sympathy within the game.

try listening to his Rome interview. My link

Even if we assume some of the details of their supposed initial meeting at Stanford, where they locked eyes and touched hands were never uttered by Manti in any interview, where did they come from? WHole cloth invented by the media?Even in the language he DID use in interviews he clearly said in the ESPN interview that she was the prettiest girl he had ever metAnd even if you further stretch "met" to have some 21st century innerwebs meaning beyond actual physical meeting, all of the emotion, feeling and detail that he did put forth in interviews is disingenuous at best if he had never "met" herSuch a bizarre story

Plus his father said in interviews that the two of them spent time together in Hawaii; now he is claiming nobody ever met her.
