GM's thread about nothing (41 Viewers)

IHOP = Dennys.

The only reason you should be in one is if you're a college kid drunk beyond all reason at 4am Sunday morning. Then those places are heaven.

The first overseas IHOP didn't open until this past August...If we can't trust them to name the restaurant, how can we trust what we eat?
:lmao:NY guys, it's been a while since I've lived there, and when I did I was a destitute student. If I took a job in Rye Brook but were looking to save money for my impending Nicaragua move, where is someplace convenient but reasonable-ish to live?

To buy or to rent?

Did that in law school. Well, within three blocks of it.

Well Rye Brook has a lot nearbyYou are basically on the Connecticut border and are close to the LI SoundI would check out Mamaroneck, which is about 10 miles south and on the waterBut that's a really nice central area in general, so I doubt you'd have a huge issue finding somethingHarrison, Rye, Greenwich, Port Chester, Bell Haven are all possibilitiesETA: I know there are a lot of new-ish condo developments in that area if that's a route you'd go

Rye, Port Chester and Greenwich don't strike me as "reasonable-ish" but maybe I'm wrong? Always thought that's where the rich folks lived. Don't know Harrison and Bell Haven but will check them out. Thanks!

For rental I'd bet you could find something in any of those areas...A ton depends on your "needs," both space and amenities wiseUltimately I think your best bet would be to contact a realtor, tell them your budget and what you are looking for, and let them guide youAlso,Rye Brook is basically off of both 287 and the Hutchinson River Pkwy, so you could expand the radius without adding TOO much time to your commuteJust as an example, Tarrytown is about 15 miles Slightly North West on the Hudson, but is a straight shoot on 287

10 mins in and I'm not sure what's going on, but the camera work is fun.
Good friend of mine is one of the "Moody Brothers" - in Episode One, he gets kicked in the junk quite gloriously.
Friend of mine is some kind of glorified extra/townsperson. It was all I heard about when they were filming in Gastonia. I think she went as far as to create an IMDB page for herself. :lmao:

JR loves IHOP. He's only 3 and he's already a legend on "all you can eat pancake" day.
They built a Waffle House pretty close to our old house. Probably another sign it was time to GTFO too. That and the dozen beauty supply (that's not an exaggeration) and 3 pawn shops that opened. Anyway, they would rather go there but suprisingly there isn't one out here. The big smiley face chocolate pancake is what they always get. It makes them happy so what do I care.

I replied to this although never got a reply on the t-shirt question. I guess it's a go so L for both me and Mrs. SLB.

Oh and I just spent half an hour on the phone with my mother. Why? You want to know why? Well she watches the news too much. She sent me e-mails wanting to know exactly where we were staying, Cos's name, etc. She is very concerned that Cos is going to murder us or something. I was more than a little irritated by this. So I poor myself a stiff one, first of the day, and call my Dad. He helped a lot by saying maybe we're going to some drug filled orgy or something as a joke. Funny #### Dad. I could do that on my street and he knows it. So I spent the last half an hour on the phone telling my 64 year old mother about all of you and this place. Really, WTF, my Mom, my MOM knows I'm rather street smart. This is the same woman that found a large stash of weed in my room when I was 13 and didn't tell my Dad because she knew he would quite literally beat me half to death.

I'm going to drink rather heavily now.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: My Mom is rather awesome but less so since she has quit drinking. Her allergist said that's what was causing her terrible migraines. It's helped some but she still gets them. I'm partial of course but she's a unbelievably sweet person. You won't find a person that has a bad thing to say about her. Except me and this incident of course.

Maybe cos should call her to verify things are on the up and up and that there will be adult supervision.
They're almost the same age.ETAActually she's 62, WTH am I thinking.
Oh bull ####, she's 35 dog years older than I.
Yeah bull#### is right. :lmao:
SLB is going to send Mrs. SLB the Wolverines link. She'll understand then.
Mrs. SLB is all excited about this. After meeting Redman, she totally understands this. Redman is pretty cool. She still asks about him every once in while. Maybe he banged her when I passed out in Vegas.
I guess protocol would be for your mom to call my parents before coming to a sleepover. You want their number?
It's the only way she can be sure. :lol:I talked her down from the cliff. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that my little sister went to school there and then turned into a complete nutjob. I'm an only child now from what I understand. :lmao:

I also learned my free trip to Hawaii is still on. Pretty happy about this. Looks like the last week in April. HUGE bonus is that's when the Boy Scout family camp out thing is. Yes.

That's if cos doesn't kill you in Austin.
:lmao:I've been at peace with mortality for quite a while. The only thing that changes has changed my persepecitve are these leaches that eat my food, drink my milk and suck up a ton resources that I have to pay for.I was also pissed because as we were going to dinner last night, there was obviously an ice scuplting contest earlier that day. Most were melted, fell, and were destroyed. However we walked by one where there were two big slabs of ice that the work of art was setting that was in perfect shape. I told Mrs. SLB that if I didn't just break my neck, I would be standing on that thing doing my impression of David and having her take my picture. Stupid weak neck.

I have an IMDB page. Or, at least, a reference. A page costs scrilla.

I had an absolutely awesome warmup to coshole this weekend. tl;dlTook a road trip to Windsor with 2 other buddies and met up with 2 of our Canadian friends for the weekend. For those that don't know anything about Windsor, it's in Ontario, right across the river from Detroit. We got too our hotel (Caesars) on Friday around 5 and I was already 7 or 8 beers in from the car ride up. All five of us meet up in our room and drink for an hour or so before heading out to dinner. We end up going to some nice, but quiet Italian restaurant...we were anything but quiet and were clearly being obnoxious :banned: After a nice meal and 5 liters of wine split among 4 of us, we decide to play credit card roulette for the bill. Thankfully I dodged that one... But hey, the guy that got stuck with the >$450 bill did get to drink for free the rest of the night. From there we hit the local gentlemen's club... For over 3 hours. I had 8 or so more beers and a couple shots while there and befriended the sassy hot drink girl. At some point during our time there, things start to get a bit fuzzy for me and the two Canadians. We went to one place for more drinks and nachos and then I hit a club with one of the Canadians while the other guys checked out a different bar. There was a queue and cover for the club, but I decided to skip that and just walked up to the bouncer who said no and we had to go to the back of the line. I grabbed my buddy, shoved him forward into the club and told the bouncer it was ok because I was with that guy. Somehow, it miraculously worked. After that we went back to the hotel and the two Canadians were escorted through the casino by security because they were so obliterated. Somehow I must have pulled it together enough because I pulled went and played craps with my other two buddies. They went back to the room around 3:30 and I lasted til a bit after 4 before stumbling away from the table down ~$100 on the night. Woke up the next morning to go to the car show in Detroit and felt pretty good, probably because I was still drunk. Part way through the car show, the hangover started to set in with cold sweats and risky burps. Managed to get through that and back to the room for a quick power nap to refresh. We went out to dinner and I had a couple fishbowls or rye & diet and was doing well. We had a bit of time to burn before the nightlife scene really took off, so I hit a three card poker table for a bit and won $400 :thumbup:Two of the guys went to the strip club while the rest of us were getting ready. When we showed up, we didn't see our other buddies anywhere and all the tables were taken. My drink girl saw us as we walked in, came over and gave me a hug and then went and got the bouncer. He walked over to the front-center table and a minute later, the guys that were sitting there were picking up their coats and drinks and we were seated. I look off to the left and a stripper from last night that we had talked to and spent a lot of time with started waving at us with excitement. She came over and sat with us and drink girl and chatted for about 15 minutes before the girls got back to work. She informed us that our other buddies were upstairs and went and got them. All told between drinks and entertainment at that fine establishment for the two nights, the total bill was just a bit under $5,000. For 5 guys. No wonder we got such good service when we walked in the second night. To be fair, one of the Canadians accounted for almost half of that  He has a lot of money and enjoys spending it in such establishments. He typically disappears for an hour or more at a time with a girl. He came back after one round of dances and had a little streak on his pants that was glowing in the black light from where the girl had been rubbing herself up against him :lmao:So yeah, things I learned for coshole are to not come out of the gate too hot and that my body processes liquor better than beer. No hangover today after ~12 rye and diets :banned: :banned:
