Colindate:Had a 2nd interview today. It went really well. I feel a lot better about the possibilities moving forward than I did after the first interview. The head of their US operations told me I'd be moving forward in the process next week. And I'm sort of dreading going in to work tomorrow because it's the first day working under the guy I really don't want to work for. I'm starting to think this job opening at this time might be a good thing. Now I just need to figure out how much $ to ask for.Edit: They might want to pay me to fine tune my Spanish (read: undo a decade of neglect) and I might get some international travel out of the deal in Mexico/central/south America and Taipei.
Talked to a guy today at he conference who told me his intention to ride a bike to the North Pole. He was telling me about this specialized bike made with 4" wide tires that they used to ride in races after the Ididarod in Alaska. He straps some hind of inflatable four pound inflatable raft the straps to his handlebars for all the rivers he has to fjord to make the trek north. He attempted this last year and only made it a third o the way because he had broken his collarbone, but is gearing up to take another shot. As far as I can tell, everyone else I've ever met is a relative puszy

Andrew studied design and international business in college, then dabbled in entrepreneurship for a few years; starting a hedge fund, internet marketing venture, and advertising agency. After dutifully playing the game of vulgar capitalism prescribed by agricultural-industrial civilization, he traded the comfortable anesthetic of a healthy bank account for life aboard a sailboat.

At the intersection of hunter-gatherer anthropology, evolutionary psychology, evolutionary biology, radical critique, play, wildness, and the revolution of everyday life, Andrew examines and experiments with lifestyles in search of optimal expressions of human thriving across all axes.
Wow.

I'm getting started on my first cook with the Big Green Egg. Hopefully can get this thing's temperature stable by the time I need to leave in about four hours.

Speaking of Germany, I found out something interesting about my ENT. This guy has a thick German accent and frankly quite awesome. He cusses and yells at the nurses, in a funny way, and isn't afraid to say it like it is. He's about 70 I guess. Anyhow, Mrs. SLB told me he grew up in Argentina. Interesting.
Are you sure he's only 70?
Are you sure he is not a Nazi that hid in Argentina and is now living in the US under an assumed alias?
Thanks for killing the subtle joke, jackhammer.

Do you have the mass produced bumper sticker?

 :lmao:I have plenty of whiskey, vodka & beer if you want to come over. Mrs. SLB is going to sleep and I'm bored.
Wish i had not left the computer to go out and watch the Duke Michigan St. game now. Drinkign whiskey and vodka with SLB would have been more entertaining. I need to keep better tabs on what is going on in this thread.

I'm cooking on my BGE for the first time, sitting inside, eating breakfast, drinking coffee, and reading. I've got this cool little wireless thermometer that tells me grill temperature and meat temperature. I don't even have to go outside, I know exactly how it's going. Technology is cool.

Just got mine yesterday  I'm going to build a table for it, but in the meantime will probably just put it on a paver on my wooden deck

That's a better idea than waiting a month to use it because you haven't sealed your cedar table yet. It's amazing how little air this thing needs to hold temperature once you get it up and running.

Going back to the discussion of black people we thought were white and vice versa......

Growing up as a die-hard Orioles fan in Mass I never really got to see any O's games on TV unless it was against the Sox but I was able to listen to an AM Baltimore radio station (1090 WBAL) that broadcast the O's but I could only get that station at night. I was shocked to find out Storm Davis was white and that "Disco" Dan Ford was black. Of course if I had known Ford's full name was Darnell Ford I might have had some suspicions. Also, when Brady Anderson was coming up as a prospect with the Sox I figured he was black but I was wrong. I also thought he was gay until he tried to pick up my cousin in a bar once (she turned him down) And before 1992 I didn't think he was a juicer that would hit 50 homers in one season. I guess I never really knew Brady that well at all.

And lastly, for some strange reason a long time ago before ever seeing a picture of him I always assumed Otis was black. Not Otis Nixon, I'm talking about our Otis, the famed FFA poster with big paws.

Is the numbered list a lawyer thing? I almost never see one unless posted/written by one of them.

I didnt know people still played Words With Friends. Any of you geeks play Scramble? I'm pretty decent at that one. :bag:
I'll play. Send me a link.
I love words with friends and have no one to play with. Can some of you post your screen names so I can invite for a game?
I'm pretty horrible, but relish the few times I beat TRE or Tup. Username is screen name I think.
And can someone please tell me how you get the stats?

Pro tip: When in doubt, ask for more. half again as much.

You never see non-lawyers do numbered lists? Lawyers do it a lot, but I don't think the profession exactly invented the concept of a list or outline.

I have a blog I haven't touched in five years. It has three posts total. One of them is a comparison of Monet and Manet. It typically averages about 200 views a month with spikes around the time colleges hold their final exams. Well, someone must have linked to it or liked it on Facebook or something because I've gotten 1200-1500 views eaxh of the last three months. :lmao:
