So I had a yelling and screaming match with my ex-wife on Easter Sunday, at her place. The dispute was her backing out of me having him Sunday morning to take him to church while she prepared her house for her Catholic extended family to come over as per Easter tradition (I wouldn't be there, but I'd deliver the rug rat back for that). She discovered, however, that my plans included taking him to the Episcopal mass with my girlfriend and her kids. She completely loses her #### anytime girlfriend is brought up, and simply can't be reasoned with. At one point the "conversation" goes like this:
Her: He can't miss mass on Easter, T Bell. That's ridiculous.
Me: You were going to take him last night and opted not to (turned out Easter Saturday mass was at 7:30 instead of 5:00) and, besides, he is going to mass with me so he'll have an Easter mass.
Her: We're raising him Catholic.
Me: Yes, and I'm paying for half of Catholic school. He can go to an Episcopal service.
Her: No, that's ridiculous.
Me: That's not very open-minded of you. Besides, what do you care? You're not even religious. You go to church twice a year.
Her: [indignantly] I had 12 years of Catholic school.
Me: That ended over 30 years ago (she's 50)! Who heads your parish, Father Time?
At which point the conversation degenerated into chaos.
As I didn't wish to physically kidnap my own son from her residence, I eventually departed without him.
So anyway, at what point does 12 years of Catholic school "expire" such that you need to re-up by going to church again?
