A guy walks up, introduces himself as a physician, and recommends I squeeze the finger below the cut. Thanks, Dr. Cooley. Eventually someone leads me over to the deli, where they have clotting spray and super glue. Note to self: don't buy anything from the deli.

Yeah, funny thing, that. He was in Portland last weekend. Grade school/high school buddy. Haven't seen him in 10 years. Was up here for the Blind Pilot concert; tickets he bought for his GF at the time back in November. They since broke up, so he just came up to Portland alone and we went to the concert, hung out all weekend, stayed out until 3am both nights...did it up. He worked in DC/politics for a number of years, now earns a nice living as a consultant in Dallas. Never been married. Doing quite well. Cool dude. Mike Malaise.
