Grabbing a cab to this chix place in 6 hours to have "brunch" and then limos to a fine drinking establishment full of wanna be cowboys and terrible country muzak. Good thing she has an awesome fake rack.

I will tell her that my innernet friends require a picture of her chest.

Also, do we want to try one more time to have a GMTAN Fantasy Football League? We can just have the draft in here. 14 teams, $25 entry, I'll clone it like another league I run, which is a bit more wide open and fun than your grandfather's fantasy football league. I should have some time this summer to organize/commish this.
Thoughts on doing just a draft and "best ball" and no transactions during the year? The draft sounds fun, but the thought of another league to manage doesn't.

Just my $.02
Oh, for ####'s sake, it's 25 bucks, dude. Not every league needs a draft dominator and over thinking. If the thought of this league makes you break out in hives, just avoid it.
Actually, it being only $25 compounds the problem. In my experience, people stop paying attention to the small $ leagues after a few weeks b/c managing them becomes tedious. The draft is where all the fun is...and it seems like the 18 people after me also support.

Surely, it's not about the money. I just dropped $17 on ####### ice bags!!!!!!!!!111111111111111
Fantasy football shouldn't be tedious. It's supposed to be fun. I'll do whatever the league wants, but just how much time do you folks spend managing leagues? I've never thought of this hobby as a chore before.
Setting up waivers and stuff is a pain in the ###
Really? A pain? How much effort do you really put into this? I'm happy to commish the league and could do it in my sleep. Never in my life considered this hobby a laborious chore before. Are drop/adds really that difficult? Do you treat trades like they're the Camp David Peace Accords?

I'll put together a league 'charter'. It won't be complex. It will be fun. There might be some sort of ability to make some in-season transactions, but I promise it won't cause you to take a day off from work. I might include punters. I won't break the league up into 'divisions'. I will incorporate head coaches. I won't include offensive lineman. I might start the draft in mid August. I won't let you pay with coupons. It won't be like any league you've ever played in before. You may never want to do it again.

Remember how cosjobs ran the Deadly Animal Draft? Yeah....I'm the head albino in charge. Play or don't play. We'll pull out of the station soonish. TOOOOT TOOOOOOOOOT, ALL ABOARD!!!!11

Is "Tecumseh" really that much harder to type than "Tecum"?
I couldn't remember how to spell the whole thing correctly. :bag:
Because that's always been such a hurdle for you? ;)
Truf, Pron.

NBA nerds calling the Golden State Warriors "The Dubs" has set me on full tilt this weekend. Might be the dumbest thing I've read/heard since people started calling Jennifer Lopez/Ben Affleck "Bennifer".

DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNK DRNNNNNNNNNNKKKKK

Has any celebrity aged more poorly than C. Thomas Howell? I'm catching up on Southland, and I can't believe how terrible he looks. I wouldn't have even recognized him had I not seen his name listed in the credits.

He was a good looking young kid in The Outsiders. Now, at 46, he looks 66.

Has he been on a diet of whiskey and Camels since his teens?
Go catch a glimpse of Robert Plant and report back. He played tonight at the Blues Fest (headline). I know the world likes to bash Keith Richards for being a walking corpse, but jesus lord god, Robert Plant looks like a tanned raisen (non-treat) with long hair and the facial hair of a Shakespearean witch. Dude looks bad bad. Realy bad.

And yet listening to him tonight, he can still belt it out like a champ.

I just spent the weekend at the family cabin at Lake Chelan with my cousin and her two kids, 17 and 19, along with a half dozen of their friends. I have heard so many stupid things in the last three or four days that doesn't even register.

Some people actually say "hashtag" in real life. Often. And "ermahgerd."

I was seriously considering my iretirement, but I'll stick around for this.

I'm partial to lyla or Charlie for a girl though.
Those are terrible. Iyla is a Hindu name. Are you Hindi? Plus it's hard for people to comprehend.Charlie? Do you want your girl to be on the softball team? Seems like you're just setting her up for gender confusion.

If Cash or Hendrix(xx) are in your kid's name anywhere, I'm kicking your ### next time I'm in Austin.

Why do you feel the need to try so hard here?
Charlie is the name of my sister, but it's short for Charlotte. She's not butchy or gay or any good at softball (well, not as good as Frosty) but she's about a bass player short of a full band.

What is Abe's current kid's name?

Best friend from college and his family came over for dinner. They have 3 kids. Their oldest daughter is named "Mathile", which is French for "Matilda". Always liked it. Great kid, too. Going to be an all-star in Lacrosse at the college level. They have a 2 year old daughter named "Stella", which I also like, but is pretty common these days.

I named my last kid. Not sure if this is a boy or girl but will take input/ridicule on my current list:

Boy. First name will be John. Will he called middle name or a John abbreviation (jack). Current listings: Cash, Hendrix, Holden, charles, Knox. (I hate the last one)

Girl: lyla, Layla, Charlie, hazel, Hendrix, Ridley.

Will keep you posted.
More seriously, John is a great solid name, and Jack is a great nickname. "Cash" seems OK if he goes by Jack. Charles is nice and solid, too (but "Chuck" is not).

I hate all the girls' names except Hazel and Ridley. Had a good friend recently name her daughter Riley, which I think is better than Ridley.

was sure I was about to read some ugly commentary about how bad that name is for a girl. Course, I'm still playing catch up, so somebody might have dumped on it.

Word of caution: Be careful about what you say with regards to first names. Some of us have feelings. Even those of us named Forrest Vannerson Malaise.

Well, now I'm depressed. I know that if I were born a girl, my name would be "Heidi". And if Hazel were a boy, her name would be "Beck" (eat me, I like it.). But I honestly have no clue what my boys would be named if they were girls and now I'll be up all night trying to remember and will have to email their mom tomorrow to ask. Sure hope her brain works better than mine. :bag:

OK, F##K this new board!!!! My god, it's just a pile of #### in every way.

Anyway, the post I tried to make...

Not to be a braggart or anything but for ####'s sake I walked with $500 in cash tonight. On a friggin SUNDAY!!!! While getting completely smashed and having a blast with a bunch of nubile wimmins!

Such a great night.

Then went to the bar next door and made out with a hot Ashley. And then hung out with the bartenders doing shots and pounding delicious Miller Lites until 4:30.

Sometimes I get really sad...but tonight was not one of those times.

currently living somewhere in the pacific rim.Be glad he didn't lick the top of your head

Random purchase that seems like a few folks here might benefit from. This occurred to me as I had to make an extra stop to go pick up a bag of ice the other day.

My freezer produces ice...but it's usually not enough ice to fill an ice chest, and if you empty that ice, you don't have other ice to put in your drinks. Bags of ice are typically $2-3 at the store, plus you have to go there...sometimes it's your only purchase.

Boom - $17 for 100 ice bags shipped. Now I'll always have multiple bags of ice on hand

it's the little things
You paid 17 bucks for bags?

"Boom"? Really?
I paid $.17 per ice bag. I can fill them up with my ice maker and store them in my extra freezer. Ill always have a few ice bags on hand. Really don't see a downside to this purchase.Eta - ice maker is small hence the need for the bags
If only they sold bags at the grocery store that had some kind of zipper on them, which would allow you close the bag once filled.
Do they sell them that hold 8# of ice?

yes, they are called trash bags.

Seriously though, how many of those bags do you really need? Why not just reuse the one that came for free with your $3 ice purchase?

Just reviewed the top 100 name list for boys and girls. A lot of annoying names on there. Like, all of them.
Avoid anything ending in -aden/aiden etc. tons of those out there now. unless, you know... you like them then who give s ####. Also, don't listen to my advice. My boys are named Knox and Wyatt

I feel like discussing names this early is bad luck. I'm staying mum.

I'm thinking I'm going to build my own crib this time though. We got a hand-me-down crib last time from some friends...it was a cheap target pile of crap. It won't be that hard to far exceed that.

Lay off TF, folks. He's got a stash of bags ready for the impending Icemageddon and all it took him to save the $1.08 for a pre-filled bag was ordering a pallet of empties, buying a stand-alone freezer and running his ice maker into the ground filling up those 12" X 20" 1.8mil beauties. You may scoff, but no matter what happens he's got that covered... unless the power goes out. But who needs ice then, anyway?

Shark move would have been buying 1,000 of them for about $0.10 each, keeping 100, selling the other 900 at $0.17 each and ending up with 100 bags, AND $50.00

:moneybag:

Cool - doing it from scratch or are there plans you'll be following? Should be able to get away with slats on 16" centers if new baby is anything like the first

I've looked at a few plans online, there are a few things you have to do make it "legal"...2 3/8" between slats, fit it to the mattress size (28x52 i think)...

I need to decide what wood to use and how to join things (dowels for slats, screws for frame probably) and maybe a little about the general look of it, but it seems pretty easy/doable.

Yeah, in general cribs seem pretty easy, especially if you don't go with a "sleigh bed" style that incorporates curves. Heck, even that is easy if you just buy the wood precut. Just have to figure out the balance between time/effort and payout, but all-in-all seems like a pretty straight forward project. Good luck GB

The one thing I'll have to think about is stain. Is there a stain that I can buy that a kid can chew on? Hulkbaby chewed the crap out of the last one.

Digesting stain builds character. In all seriousness, once the stain is cured on the wood, it should be fine. Some people opt for water-based finishes like polyurethane because they don't take as long to set. I think oil based stains take a couple weeks to fully cure, but you've got plenty of time either way.

FYI - I am a John that has never been called anything but Jack. Do him a favor and just name him Jack. It's a huge PITA through your entire life to ( teachers, etc)explaining that your name is really Jack.
