GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

Oh hi. Long time...

Quite a few Cincy guys in here and I have a question. Flights from Philly to Cincy are always ridiculous for some reason. I have to be in Cincy a few times a quarter on business and have been flying into Louisville and driving up to save a few hundred. We're talking 700 dollar flights no matter when I book them, or 550 bucks for 2 stops (f that).

Is Columbus to Cincy driving a more viable option? I can look up the mileage on google, but I'm wondering from a traffic stand point. I'll be in downtown Cincy if that makes a difference.

Not a lot of action going on in CVG these days so flights are not great.

You could also consider IND which is about 2 hours away.

Columbus to Cincy is an easy drive. 1:45 or so to downtown.

FWIW, agree with this order. Columbus to Cincy is an easier drive, IMHO than L'ville to Cincy, although both are pretty boring........

The bad news today? My car broke down and will probably run about $500 to repair. The good news? I got a text from a random email address telling me my entry won a cruise to the Bahamas! I'm all booked up, but if anyone wants to send me, say, $500, I'll shoot you the phone number to call to claim your cruise.

My two best 'connections' for god's greatest herb up and left the Rose City absent a single text or call to wish me farewell. Thus I have been scrambling for a replacement. So naturally, who do I turn to? Why, my good buddy and former assistant coach who is facing time in the hokey, that's who! A few days later, he produces contact info for a one "Dr. Greenthumb" and wished me well on my quest. Yada yada yada, after a few awkward text exchanges and a trip out to his 'shop' (which is a quaint little iron works store in the middle of the poshest part of town) I am now sitting with a fresh baggie of delicious looking nuggets tucked neatly into an empty coffee bag.

Uh, winning. Well, you know...unless the NSA recorded all of this, which I mean, come on...why on earth would they monitor the communications of a guy facing federal prison time.

Hang on, knock at the door, BR...............

Tonight I made a tasty dish; I cooked some rice vermicelli and filled a large ramekin about a third of the way up with them. I then put on some fresh spinach sauteed in butter with some pernod and shallots. I topped this with 5-6 fresh oysters and couple shakes of tabasco, a few T of oyster liquor, a T of fresh grated parm and baked for about 20 minutes. Then I topped with fresh hollandaise and paprika and returned to the oven for another seven minutes. Delicious. Served with crab cakes, fresh creamed red potatoes, kimchi and roasted beet and feta salad.

Hi ysr. Little one reading at a third grade level yet?
:lmao: not yet. She does appear to be smarter than any other baby I've ever met, so it shouldn't be long. Also, she's already exhibited some serious head/neck control and would probably be sleeping through the night if I weren't waking her up for feedings every 2-3 hours (trying to put some weight on her sweet little 6 lb frame).

From Yandek's interview with Pat Summerall:

CY: You needed a new kidney to live and you did get the transplant, but how close do you feel physically before you got the transplant that your life might be over and that we might not be having this conversation right now?

PS: “Well, I didn’t need a kidney. I need a liver.”

CY: Excuse me. Yeah.
wtf kinda question is that?

Have you tried Dayton? I probably do about half my flying out of there.

And the other half out of all the airports that get you back to Dayton...?

Need some Ts & Ps here, Jimtan. I have this conference that I've been working on for the last 18 months coming up starting Sunday. It's our trade association's annual conference, which means that it's super high visibility and also the type of event where the booze flows freely all hours of the day and night. Our company president and most of the board of directors will be there. I did all the sponsor recruitment, managed the marketing and communications and am serving as the emcee. So, this is either my chance to shine on a public stage or to publicly crumble due to a drinking problem. I think I'm going to constantly ask myself "WHAT WOULD HOMER DO?" Nothing could go wrong if I keep that in mind, right?

If you get super drunk even if you embarrass yourself you won't remember it so it will be like it never happened.

What got into johnnycakes with that horrible crime scene photo in the I'm Freaked Out thread?
Asked and answered.
I didn't know he was that dooshy.
I don't think it is dooshism. He's a full bubble off.
Do we know if he's married at all?
There's a lot of Chinesed wimmins out there, so Magic 8 Ball says: Plausible.

Completely baffled that he's still posting and not banned right now. Apparently Joe is cool with people linking to naked slaughtered women or whatever the #### that picture was. But calling someone a dickmitten gets you a week timeout. :loco:

I think this is right. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about so go with what he says.

Up until a couple weeks ago the only thing I knew about johnnycakes was that he married a chinese gal after his divorce. He's been going Chuck Speedman the last few days though.
