GM's thread about nothing (44 Viewers)

PARENTING TIP:

If your kid needs to enroll in a new school go ahead and wait until the day before school starts or even the actual day school starts. No sense in wasting a perfectly good summer day with unimportant stuff like enrolling your kid in school. Besides, teachers and school officials love a surprise and don't do much planning ahead any way.
vidya games
That's exactly how my wife's Dust Bowl Okie grampa pronounced it.

Bob, email sent. Thanks, GB.

I stole it from Hank Hill.

So between Zooks **** warts, Kristas mosquito bites, Tre's lump on the side of his head and SLB's head vag, we've got a freak show trauma unit in here.
Don't forget me throwing pig's blood all over the place. Add that to the mix and it's practically an Old Testament story. The Book of GMTAN.

Mrs. SLB had to work today so she was gone early which left the boys strictly under my jurisdiction. I already instituted "no TV, computers or vidya games Tuesdays" for today and the future until I change my mind. So it was fun to remind them of that this morning. I've decided every morning will be like this on school days going forward.

So instead of three people riddled with Dory, I had those two little bastards dressed, fed, teeth brushed and rooms cleaned with time left over for Dylan to play on the swingset and Cal to read some of his book. Then we walked the mile to school and they arrived before the bus would have even gotten to our house. The foot, it has been put down.
I'm playing Mr. Mom this week while the wife travels for work, and I'm pretty sure my daughter thinks she woke up on a different planet this morning.

:goodposting: TV is a ####.

I'm going to be thinking about that George Burns joke all week. Seriously one of the funniest things in this thread ever, and I can't even explain why.

My wife is also out of town for a few days. But thanks be to jesus....her mother is here to help. Nothing like chilling at home with your MIL after the kids go to bed. Nope, nothing peculiar about that at all. GM is working late the next three days.

Converations with my MIL are always awkward. It's especially fun when we discuss work because she really doesn't understand what I do. She does like to bring me every newspaper clipping related to Amazon and ask me for my inside opinion on them. the other week I told her that Bezos told me he bought the Washington Post because he wants to be able to print stories about himself in order to portray himself in a god like way ala Kim Jong Il.

I hate getting 10 days behind in this thread.
***Official*** GMTAN tdoss notes:

-GM and I have wives out of town. He's going to be avoiding his MIL, who is "helping with the kids", while I'm going to be getting drunk and debating between 3 nights of watching as much Breaking Bad as possible or pirating Game of Thrones

-krista has successfully landed in Mozambique, but her pregnancy is causing the mosquitoes to treat her like Justin Bieber's penis in a white trash middle school

-Zooks contracted genital warts, but he went to a Sub Zero ice cream parlor to have it removed. Don't order the STD Crunch Bar

-finless came back

-Chem X had a kinder, gentler cameo

-If you're interested in adopting, IB might be able to hook you up.

-Still can't believe they passed on Tyler black-Eyedfort peas, who will destroy Cobe beef Fleener this year AND was more creative use of their shtick

-flysack got a paint by rh factor kit at Michaels

-The draft is over. Praise be to Ra

-jcakes is raising a daughter he thinks is an 8, but she happens to be the only asian female under the age of 20 Homer wouldn't use up like a burner phone

-GM has a watch worth more than Abe, who has a big meeting with the vitameatavegemin people. No word yet.

-Uni went to a jiggly pub, where he paid for the first year of community college for some woman who treated his neck like mosquitoes treat krista

-GM saved the life of a young gay man and his beard, by being an audible version of that little orange light that blinks when you're not supposed to walk

What else? I think that about covers it.

So the girl I'm meeting up with on Thursday has me a bit flummoxed... we used to do some work together (she worked for a supplier and was one of my favorite people at that company) and bumped into each other at a bar on Friday. We chatted a bit there and said we should meet up some time to catch up, but it seemed more like a polite thing than something that would actually happen. She reached out yesterday to let me know that she would be in town through Saturday (she lives in Chicago but comes to Cincy 1x/month) and wanted to know if I would be available for coffee or drinks to catch up and let me know that it was nice to bump into me on Friday.

So... We worked out the details to meet up for drinks Thursday (guster doesn't do coffee), but I have no clue if its purely work related or if there is more. For perspective, this is a girl that I have been very interested in for a while and may have described her as "wifeable" to a buddy at one point. At this point I'm thinking of outright asking her if this is a work meeting, a date or something in between... Better advice? Shtick? Suggestions?

Grab a boob when you first walk in. That should clear things up.

Well, after throwing me off like a cheap suit, you're getting no advice here. Run, girl!!!!1!!

Update on last 15 pages?

Promotion has been an interesting challenge. Manageable, but consuming.

Bigger issue - custody fight over my 4 y.o. Daughter. Handful of you know on FB so no explanation required what she means to me.

Prayers ( ha!) OK good thoughts appreciated. Uphill fight for any single dad but know I am well equipped and resources are available/actively working the issue.

Thoughts/anecdotes/advice offered would be gratefully received. Not here much but value the collective wisdom of GMTAN.

Think I'm Having a break through at work. Good chance I landed two bigger money accounts in Dallas today which goes a long way to offsetting my guarantee and increasing my pay long term. Boss is moving to Colorado tomorrow so ill have even more freedom to tackle things. It was a good day.

Damn, quite a week. Dominating the GM Fairy Tale Football draft plus a little success on the job. Congrats, GB.

Way to go Abe.

I decided to experiment with not drinking booze and going to bed early for a couple days to see if it would make me any livelier in the morning. I'm pretty sure this lifestyle isn't for me. Back to the bottle tomorrow.
